[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G9p7Z0C6w8&feature=player_embedded"]Rick Perry Fail Memory Lapse Forgets Stumble During CNBC MI Debate - YouTube[/ame] This is classic. I was never a Perry fan. Always thought he was a RINO like Romney. Will this be the end for him?
I couldn't even finish it... I don't enjoy watching someone become a fool and I myself feel the embarrassment from that.
Only if we decide we want another golden-tongued devil in the white house. Perry's never been strong at public speaking... he's a doer, not a talker. He was funny on Fox & Friends this morning, though. First to admit he's not a smooth-talking politician.
I do not care about smooth talkers but I do agree Perry is not to conservative ,just another same ole boss
I couldn't vote in the poll, because I just don't know. That gaffe should have put an end to his presidential aspirations, since it proved he was just talking out of his ass, but too many stupid people vote, so anything is possible.
Pretend you're betting... and let it ride. See if you can guess whats gunna happen. When whatevers gunna happen, happens, you'll be able to look back and think... called it.. or.. oops..
Not a resume enhancer for the guy.But explain how idiots like Al Sharpton { yes he was a democrat candidate in 2007 } or even Dennis Kucinich { mentioning the need to Beam Me Up } talked.Or scatterbrains Joe Biden almost weekly. Then there's Harry Reid literally every time he opens his dopey trap.Or Pelosi and her witchedness.
Perry is a classic example of trying to stuff too much info into a un practiced Crony politician. When its NOT real and from the heart..you cannot always remember the lines. The guy is a crook in Texas..send him back.
No, it's not the end of him. Tonight he's going on Letterman to make light of the "senior moment" lapse....which we ALL have occassionally. People relate to this kind of thing; makes him human. No teleprompter there to help him out! Obama has made tons of gaffes---both during the 2008 presidential debates and campaign....AND as president. But none of it ends up on the front pages. When it's Obama.....we hear this...."oh he's just tired; had a grueling schedule." No one stating that it means he was unqualified to be president. This morning Rush Limbaugh played an exerpt from the 2008 debate between Obama and McCain....and Obama never could name any agency he would cut....even when asked multiple times. McCain was very specific in answering the question. Not much different.....but got no liberal mainstream air time and no front page stories. It's clear folks what's happening here. The mainstream and liberals WANT to run against Romney; NOT Perry. They already have plans ready as to how they believe they'll beat Romney. I think they are a little more afraid of Perry's record and don't think they will find that harder to run against. Republicans.....be open-minded here and aware of what's happening. Don't let the mainstream liberals choose our candidate for us.......again.
As much as I don't like Rick Perry, I don't think it should be the death of him. We all have memory lapses, he shouldn't be punished for that. Perhaps he will clarify later after one of his campaign advisers reminds him of what his stance is.
Better than some black hearted con, anywhere. Actually, when he's got the wind at his back he's done plenty of good ol' boy talkin' in friendly Texas, but in the real world he's a deer in the headlights, and now dead on the road. Dinner time! He's two, two in one! He done talked himself right outta Dodge. But! With the con field so fallow, he could come back around on the con wheel of doom, just out of the immense desperation cons are showing... with a whole year left. Funny like a beaten puppy. He's tragic, and thank god for that, we dodged a con bullet that went straight into his foot.

He was funny on Letterman. He's doing the right thing for making light of it. This actually happened to me once in school. I was up all night working on a group project, that was to be presented the next day in front of class. When my part approached, I got through a few sentences of my prepared speech, and then my mind went completely blank. I stood there for what seemed like an eternity trying to find my place. I eventually did, and the rest went pretty well, however, the panic I had at that moment was indescribable. Not a fun thing to go through. So I can sympathize with what happened to Perry, in front of the entire WORLD. I'm not a Perry fan, and never have been. I do have concerns about his ability to debate. If he can't handle going up against other Republicans in these debates, I worry about how he would do against Obama and his billion dollar smear machine. This isn't the first time Perry has struggled through a debate.
He was drunk! I think all candidates should be given a breathalyzer and urinalysis before getting to participate in debates. It would narrow down that clown car they call a GOP field right quick!
SmartMouthWoman I believe Gov Perry of Texas is a good man , with good values of leadership ,,, but do you really think he's gonna make it past Newt Gringrich in future GOP debates ? I sure will be glad when Flounder gets back , look forward to hearing his views on this topic...he'll be back in a few days , just depends on how his back heals up ... but he's doing what the doc's tell him ... Newt's not known 2 B a funny guy ,,,
I have no beef with Perry having memory lapses. That happens to all of us from time to time. But I think he would have remembered the departments he wanted to cut if he was really serious about it. I think this shows that he's not sincere about his campaign promises.
I watched the debate last night, and have to say... Perry may have gained a little traction. At least to me, he seemed to have improved over his past performances.
You mean he didn't drown in his saliva ? He was a Obvious well coached and rehearsed performer last night in SC. He used wild arm gestures..that any body language expert will say are a sample of " Please..please please believe me..I really need it.." He was NOT bold and firm..he was almost pleading ... Talk about a robotic stiff puppet.
