Iran is going to directly attack Israel again. The first time we showed weakness or this wouldn’t be happening again. It’s a shame we have people here screaming to stop backing Israel when a country that is weeks to months away from obtaining a nuclear bomb is threatening our ally. If they hit Israel again we need to cripple their oil fields at the very least. I’m talking take them off the oil market for sure. But the real question is what will the Coward and his Experiment do? My money is on absolutely nothing offensively. To just shoot down rockets is not enough and this proves it. We need a hard hitting offense. We also need a president addressing congress to pass a bill that if a country that is nuclear capable or known to be working in nuclear weapons attacks Israel we will enter into war. Don’t forget to take the poll

I mean, Israel kind of brought retaliation on themselves. Reap what ye sow. There should have been negotiations going on, not assassinations. Bibi is doing his best to get the US to commit more and more assets to this conflict, trying to get us involved Vietnam-style. They want us to slowly commit more assets until suddenly we find ourselves with 200,000 boots on the ground.

Hopefully we are smart and only play on defense. Although I believe Israel is bringing a retaliatory strike on themselves, I don't believe we should let more innocent civilians die, regardless of which side they are on. We should use all assets in the region to shoot down any rockets or drones launched. We should only be supplying Israel with defensive munitions to shoot down rockets and cut off all other military aid, and we should help shoot down any rockets fired at Israel. We should not get any more involved in the conflict than that, and demand that both sides stop killing each other and get back to the negotiating table. The US needs to hammer both sides, and not choose sides any longer.

What exactly did you want US to do other than help Israel shoot down everything they sent towards Israel?

What would a tough guy have done? Nuke them? Israel has nukes, so if that is what they want, then they can go right ahead. Why do you want US to do it?

We help Israel defend themselves, so we don't have to do it ourselves. That has been the policy since 1948

Killing those who planned Oct 7th should be expected and being Iran hides people who do these things to Israel then they should be expected to be attacked to kill that person. Just as we did to kill Bin Laden without permission they have that same right.

The weakness we are displaying by not committing to offensive action is exactly what emboldens Iran to attack. It’s this very attitude that you are displaying that invites further escalation

At the very least help them with an air attack to destroy their oil fields. We need a strong offensive coalition type showing this is not tolerated. That they cannot fund and hide those who attack our allies without consequence. We need to show offensive posture with our allies. If they are going to attack offensively with a coalition we need to show them that Israel has friends too.

So, at the very least you want to engage in all-out war with Iran because Israel is out friend. Got it.

No one is talking US troops on the ground or any sort of "Viet Nam" style involvement. Get your crystal ball to the shop for repair and get some new tea leaves.

What exactly did killing Bin Laden accomplish? Not a damn thing. We were still stuck in Afghanistan for a decade before we finally found him, and stuck in Afghanistan for a decade afterwards. Killing Bin Laden accomplished nothing except a massive waste of taxpayer dollars, the deaths of 2,459 US soldiers, and the deaths of over 70,000 civilians. All the result of wanting to kill one man. And now the entire country is run by the Taliban.

And now we are following Israel in making the exact same mistake we made, stumbling into a wider conflict. Sheer stupidity.

No one was talking about that before it happened in Vietnam either.

So you would rather the leader that attacked us remain in power to do so again? Democrat voters make me shake my head

I'm definitely not a democrat. And would I rather Bin Laden be alive as well as 2,459 US soldiers including a few of my friends, and have Afghanistan NOT be in the hands of the Taliban? Yes. Without a doubt. 100%.
There will ALWAYS be new terrorist leaders that INSTANTLY fill the vacuum left when a terrorist leader gets taken out. killing them does absolutely nothing. It is FAR better to address the underlying problems that cause people to become extremists.

Killing bin Laden assured that he would never kill 3,000 Americans ever again. That's worth it.

The death of bin Laden had nothing to do with US Soldier casualties in Afghanistan or the death of any US civilians in Afghanistan. His LIFE did though.

I suppose that had you been alive, you would have viewed the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor and the deaths of 3,000 Americans as a diplomatic event and taken Tojo out to dinner?

What the heck does that have to do with anything?

Oh, gee, you got me. I disagree with US policy in the middle east so I must be a spy or terrorist or something. Grow up.

What kind of precedent would that send to anyone else who had the desire to attack us? Those men and women knew why they were there fighting it’s a shame you don’t.

Couldn’t agree more! These people who think freedom is free and without sacrifice will be the voting base that brings this country to its demise.

we are witnessing a serious threat to an ally, an existisitential threat to say the least. They were attacked and people like this think they should just wave their arms in the air with a white flag even while they have hostages and allow those pukes to live. All while other countries are joining in against Israel and even attacking trade ships. And still they say just lay down and take it. It’s absolutely disgusting

Having the USA all "Up in ya" for twenty years or more is its own deterrent.

Oh, there is the reason you are told at the time, then there is the real reasons. The real reason was to keep the forever war going, to keep the MIC and their political allies fat and happy.

They all knew damn well that killing bin Laden wouldn’t change a thing. And it didn’t. Al qaeda is still operating, the Taliban own Afghanistan, and we are still doing the same stupid ****, having not learned a thing.

we all realized years later that we were fed bullshit. My service was in Iraq for 4 years, but it was the same horse ****. Lies made up to justify invasion and a forever war to keep the weapons sales sky high while us grunts on the ground pay with our lives and/or the lives of our buddies.

Israel killed someone on Iran soil, so yes, Iran will strike back.... we all know that, nothing to do with Biden or Harris

was it weakness on trump's part when Iran attacked under his watch?

Seems the Taliban didn’t get the memo that they were supposed to be deterred. Seems the Vietcong didn’t either.

I said that the DEATH OF bin Laden... the DEATH... the DEATH... the DEATH... had nothing to do with American casualties. Try to focus on the subject.

No, my comment was about your inability to focus on the subject. It wasn't political at all.

of course it did. That is why we were in Afghanistan, to get Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. At least that is what we were told. The real reason, of course, was massive MIC profits, a place to test and develop new weapon systems, etc.

Not killing bin Laden would have caused the change. Not killing him would have caused the sense they could that again with zero retribution or cost to their cause. Not killing bin Laden would have sent a message to all other terrorists that they can kill us at their measure without little to no cost for them. Not killing bin Laden would embolden more attacks. Not killing bin Laden would have brought their war to our soil time and time again. May I ask how old you are?
