He doesn't have the military power to do any of what you think he seems to want. His military is in shambles, and has proven itself to be completely inept. He has no ability to project power very far beyond his borders. Even if he did suffer from delusions of grandeur there is simply no way for him to get any further than he has. He certainly is not going past Ukraine. He wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of taking on all of NATO, and he knows it.
This is about countering the threat that NATO poses to him. NATO is already WAY more powerful than Russia is in everything except nuclear weapons. He is well aware of his limitations. Nobody else has to die for this lunacy.

It's worth asking about the motives of those alliances.
In the case of the US, one major motive for US actions in Ukraine hasn't changed since Americans invaded Russia in 1919

    "The plot to Balkanize Russia

"The US wants to break up Russia into smaller states for 'moral and strategic' reasons.

"A recent draft entitled, 'The US Government’s Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe’s plan to break Russia up into a collection of independent small states.' has explained exactly what the US intends to do with Russia.

"The US is in the delusion that it can break Russia into approximately more than 10 states."

Uhhhh..what? I'm not sure what you mean.

By the best numbers I can find, the US estimates about 70,000 Ukrainian military, 27,450 civilians, and 315,000 Russian military have died.
Russia estimates that 444,000 Ukrainians have been 'killed or wounded', and 113,200 Russian military have died.

I imagine the truth is somewhere between these boundaries.
I'm not sure where Fentanyl comes in? Did I miss something?

You mentioned thousands of dead. I care about Americans. Ukrainians and Russians? Not so much.

Foreign wars are... foreign. Not our business unless there is some direct link to US national security. I can't find that link. Let 'em duke it out.

I agree. We shouldn't be involved by sending billions and billions in military aid. That money would be better used in our own country.

I would like one quote where any American elected leader wanted to break up post Cold War Russia.

Those alliances of democratically elected leaders is designed to maintain borders not expand them.

Both side hate each other. You are right about that.

But only one side sent his army and the tank to invade a sovereign country.

You know what I find it interesting? Post after post some here argue how WEST expanding NATO, and everything West doing is bad. Only if West would create buffer zone, if only West would withdraw their troops from border and all that , then we can live in peace.

But not a single time you or others blame Russia? As we discuss this, only Russian army in foreign land killing indiscriminately. NATO or EU alias are not inside Russia killing indiscriminately? Ukrainian army is not raping Russian young girls, NATO army is not destroying town after town inside Russia.

Yet here you are blaming the West.

As I have said , we can have peace today, if Russian army leaves Ukraine.

To many in the US Ukraine and Russia are far away and don't affect them in their daily lives. They fail to see and ad knowledge the world view and bigger picture as well as evaluate Putins motives. Psychologically, the US has become more isolated ....by choice. It is election year and with the likes of Trump spewing his unintelligible trash....... they are occupied with all the political moves, voting, and Trump 's legal tactics and game playing. And trashing Biden ...(who the Trumpians are obstructing with full force )

When you say buffer zone , you mean NATO members make a deal with Russia that , NATO will not expand toward East anymore and leave those small countries defend themselves? I am sorry USA and NATO don’t negotiate or create their foreign policy based on what Russia wants.

And what guarantee do we have that Russia will not attack her neighboring countries?

As I sated before: Some have a very narrow view of things with a focus on self...... The world view is what matters now. There is a principle involved here...and the US is coming up short when it comes to defending Democracy in a nation that has been electively invaded for grandiose purposes. They fail to appreciate the threat that Russia poses to the planet. Not sure they even care . It seems they want to HAVE a massive military.......but never use them for fear of losing their lives. Military lives are important to every nation ...... and only the sadistic use them the way Russia does.

And what people don't realise is that the Ruzz war machine is in full swing. They are producing 100 plus tanks a month, for starters. Where is all that momentum going to go?
