Haven't looked too closely at that, but from what I read the US is one of many countries that have agreed to take on refugees from places around the world.
We are committed to that, and I would assume that they are part of that. They are checked out at least as much as someone trying to cross the Southern border, passport, interview etc. and then are cleared for visas to work in the US for 2 years, if I'm remembering correctly. By doing it this way, it alleviates the border patrol at legal entry points the job of doing all that and frees them up to catch illegal crossings.
Have you written to your Republican representatives to express your ire that they aren't helping out the border patrol and address the situation at the Southern Border?
BTW, if terrorists wanted to sneak into the US undetected, they would not come in through the Southern Border. There are 84,000 miles of coastline and the entire northern border, not to mention other ways of entry via plane, etc.

 

If a good border security bill were to be passed, Biden would ignore it and not enforce the law. He has done that for three years, so why would he change now?

There's a connection. Government does something that creates a problem, and then government forces a "solution" on everyone to deal with that problem, even though this solution has possible downsides and takes away freedom.

The problem is Americans have gotten complacent thinking we are safe if we can keep the rest of the world out of our bubble.
The schools backed down on required vaccinations of school children in the face of parents "Protecting their children". Now the third world is here, and so is our unvaccinated population.

The border isn't open now, in fact Obamas admin. was doing pretty well, reducing it year after year. Rose slightly under Trump, and took off under Biden.

First the framing is wrong, Americans are voting class, not color, and the Middle and Working Class are moving to Republicans in a big way, that includes those of color.
