I get it. You'd rather steer the conversation into the weeds.

An intermediate cartridge with a history of being used in virtually every armed conflict of the last 60 years.

Does anyone admit to actually liking significant recoil?

    Words mean things guy.

    Learn the vocabulary.

As for recoil, if you can master it, all of your shooting will improve across all platforms.

But, that might require time and money that could be spent at chipotle.

Military spec 5.56 is actually 62 grain.

    Lol what is it 1986?

Please don't tell me your shooting green tip, which is inaccurate, and a poor performer.

I am going to ask you a specific question.

Is the following statement true or false:

Arms manufacturers attempt to design and engineer weapons and ammunition with the highest amount of power and the lowest amount of recoil.

I'm working from memory, but more like 2010 when the US Army adopted the M855A1, 62 grain cartridge.

Just the question reveals a lack of knowledge.

Thats like asking if car designers make cars for the highest mpg rating.

    It depends.

A heavier projectile will typically have more recoil and a lower velocity.

In some cases, like where a ballistically efficient long range load is desired-a heavier recoiling round is where to go. See the 77 gr OTM loads in 5.56.

Likewise, a farmer who wants to blast ground hogs at 100 yards might want a 45 grain laser beam at 3400 fps.

As far as designing guns to lower recoil, look at the .500 smith and wessons. Was that the intent of the design?

Want to cut recoil, add 10 lbs of weight to the gun-it will cut recoil.

    Its also 10 lbs heavier.

I think you were thinking of green tip ss-109.

855-a1 was an ambitious attempt to make a carbine shoot more like the rifle.

They had to tone it down because it was tearing up guns.

Its not a loading you can legally purchase in California.

Wow, a pictured gleaned from the internet of a girl with a rifle that you'll never meet. Why am I not impressed?

Post some OC. This is my Chinese communist girlfriend killing paper with some NATO 5.56.

Where did I ever state that I was purchasing this legally in California, or even purchasing it all?

The girl I posted is IDF.

    Not surprised about the communist.

Whats up with the light on the fixed magazine AR?

Usually a light indicates its for home defense, but if its for home defense, why go with a fixed 10 round mag?

What is up with all of the Off-Topic posts (about guns) in a thread about a stabbing?

Having a hard time staying on-topic?:bored:

Maybe you should take this discussion to the Gun Forum?:bored:

    Glock19 (2).gif

Good point. I had her using the 30 round mags because we were outside. The rifle is not stored in that configuration. As for "fixed magazine", this was filmed before that became law in California.

The "communist" part was a joke. Yeah, she's Chinese, but she bailed on that system to come here and embrace Capitalism. Along the way she discovered the 2A. I bought her a Glock 19 for Christmas a couple of years ago.

That has been used around the world for six decades to hunt humans with very optimal results.

Not to hunt humans, to hurt humans. The rest of the world uses the AK to "hunt" humans. The .223/5.56 is a symptom of America's inherent restraint when applying force against our enemies.

Forgive me if I don't swallow your bs. To hear you say it, the 5.56 is a "kinder, gentler" round that was adopted to merely hurt, and not kill enemy combatants? Do you not worry that you sound ridiculous?

Firstly, that is a false premise. There are more options than banning or not banning all guns. How long did it take this guy to kill 4 people? The guy at Walmart killed 22 people in less than 30 seconds. Giving every and any nut the capacity to kill dozens of people in less than a minute, anytime they want, is ridiculous.

What you are doing is making excuses to avoid the fact that this is not acceptable. Sure, there are many ways to kill, but rapid-fire weapons with huge clips that are capable of killing large numbers of people with lightning precision, are far too accessible.

All laws that ban, prohibit or curtail gun ownership are unconstitutional.
