If we extend your logic, then everyone is either guilty or not guilty and no one is in between. Beginning to look a lot like Christian theology, isn't it?

Then you will also agree that if someone lynches two people they are no more guilty than if they lynch one, yes? no?

But did he get into the pool with her after the ladder was removed?

Let's remember this was a pool party and there were several witnesses, so he couldn't have done anything too obviously bad.

But if two people commit one murder they are both each equally guilty as if it had only been one person who committed the murder?
    How does that make sense?

You seem to be ignoring the implication of what I was trying to suggest.

That's not logic, Fox Hastings. That's just an emotional appeal.

Time will tell if the laws “banning” abortion will last. Everywhere that strict abortion bans have been in place has seen a rise in maternal mortality leading many countries to revise and rescind those laws

And you do realize what the parallel of that argument here would be right?
Don't you think these harsh laws might just result in an increase in the number of children raped and killed, because these sickos wouldn't have much more to lose by doing that?

That's like your argument about abortion.

OMGAWD! You don't know the difference between one person killing two people and two people killing one?

Was there a POINT in there somewhere that would make explaining these SIMPLE facts AGAIN worthwhile?????

It's simple, if you kill someone you are charged with one murder, if you kill ten you are charged with ten murders...YOU DON'T GET THE ""DISCOUNT MURDER BUNDLE DEAL""" !!!

If two people commit one murder they are charged with one murder each...it is SO SIMPLE...

They aren't charged less because they only committed HALF a murder ...GOODGAWD DO YOU READ WHAT YOU POST!!!!

I just don't believe putting someone in prison for 20 years is right when they did not commit rape, and we don't have specific proof that they contributed towards causing any rape.

That seems wrong to me. Even more wrong than what this guy did - whether he is a sick pervert or not.

That is an argument without foundation

unfortunately the severity of the punishment is not a deterrent

Personally, I would NOT report someone to government authorities if I knew they were likely going to receive a grossly excessive prison sentence, even if I believed that person should ideally spend some time in prison.

    That goes for any issue.

That article seems to be casually conflating who is actually doing the sexual abuse.

We agree what they are watching may be sexual abuse, but whether by watching it they are committing sexual abuse is a different matter.

He was already in the pool. Read the story.
He groped a kid. Apparently repeatedly. That's a felony. And so, obviously bad.

    Sigh.
Do you have a problem with Christianity? Or theology?
But yes, people are either guilty of crimes or not. That's legal theory. You walk out of any trial either acquitted or convicted. That's pretty secular here in the US
As to morality, there too, you either sinned or did not. Secular humanists would agree with that statement as well.

No. They are guilty of the same crime twice.

In incentivizing it, they have made themselves a part of the crime. Being part of the market is incentivizing it. Those pictures didn't show up for free or if they did, it's up to him to prove it.

The word you're looking for is 'morality'. There is a branch of philosophy called morality and ethics. Theology is also a branch of philosophy. It also studies morality and ethics. And yes, I do believe in a God, not necessarily Christian.

Do you believe being a sick pervert is adequate enough reason to put someone in prison for 20 years?
Because that certainly doesn't seem like justice to me.

When he act on his desires, yes he does deserve punishment, needs rehabilitation and should be separated from society. That seems fair and just to me.

And what if that crime doesn't deserve to be punished with that much prison time?

I get tired of arguing with you, FoxHastings. I find your arguments to be intentionally disingenuous.
