Man who says he's a woman dominating women's weightlifting

"A man who "identifies" as a woman has made the switch over to women's weightlifting and is dominating the field.

Laurel Hubbard, a transgender "woman" from Kiwi, took a commanding win in Sunday's Australian International event in Melbourne. The athlete wrecked the biological women during Sunday's showdown, setting four national records. "Hubbard lifted a combined total of 268kg - 19kg better than silver medallist Iuniarra Sipaia of Samoa," notes NZ Herald.

The 39-year-old weightlifting champ previously competed in men's national weightlifting before his "transition" during his mid-30s.

While LGBT activists are praising Hubbard for his participation and dominance in the field, some of the weightlifter's biologically female competitors are less than thrilled with the situation."

This is blatantly anti-woman and it has to stop. If someone wants to pretend to be a woman, they can do it on their own time, but not in women's athletics. Why do libs support this sort of thing?

I'm a supporter of Trans rights, but Sports is one of the few areas where I don't agree you should be able to switch. I'll support the transition, but you should have to compete in the division of your birth gender.

 

I look forward to seeing meaningless Olympics. Wherein there are no females competing - just like the first games. Female divisions will be in name only ... a sort of token nod to the social freedoms of the latter 20thC.

 

It's not cheating if it's allowed. That's the problem, it's supported by many groups.

 

Seems like you want it half way. If *support* "Trans rights" of deciding which gender they are on a whim then you should have no issue with this.

You're right, my comment was a bit tongue in cheek. I don't blame the individual for taking advantage of the rules though.

 

Actually no. I can support and individuals right to transition, and be afforded most of what comes with that, but Sports is a different story in that male and female physiology when it comes to muscle mass is pretty clear scientifically, whereas the desire for transition is wholey within the brain.
I mean, every instance where this has happened, the individual smashes through the competition and records.

Attraction and sexuality and gender Identity are all in Everyones head.

And it's called a Nuanced approach. I'm not really into the whole 'black or white only' thing.

 

Attraction and sexuality are one thing, your gender is a fact, not an emotion. Sort of like your age. If you're 40 but feel 20, you're still really 40.

 

There is gender Identity and then your biological gender. One is physical and the other is mental. For the vast majority of the population, the two are the same. For a small segment, it's not so concrete.

 

You may not be, but nature sure is.

There are birth defects, but these are rare, and are simply defective versions of one or the other. So STILL binary. Nature is a beeatch.

Tell that to animals who can switch gender if necessary (or any of the other weird gender switching that goes on in the animal kingdom). You can ignore that stuff all you like, but objective reality isn't decided by your personal view.
