    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/n...na-carano-fired-amid-social-media-controversy

    Quote from the article:
""Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.""

Gosh. That sounds super bad. She said nazis weren't actually nationalist as leftist demand we interpret history. She instead made the case that natioanalists wouldn't attack their own nation. For which Disney fired her.

I cancelled my subscription to the disney+ channel today. I won't support a company that treats their employees this way. The cancellation of Disney has begun.

If you want to work in Hollywood, you need to parrot the Democrat talking points

I think it's high time folks like Disney start to feel the financial effects of their wokeness. It's not like they have the best record....

What a sad day. I suppose that Disney wouldn't much care for say the governor of FL shutting down their properties in retaliation. Governor De Santis...?? Wonder what he will have to say. But then, the governor of FL understands that shutting them down hurts his state. And probably, this is a calculation Disney actively made. At some point though, the public need to see these greedy media folks for what they truly are. Despicable

It won't matter. Because of the narrative as well as preaching within public schools, the Democrat message is pounded into the heads of everyone

let us not forget history and how people get brainwashed within schools and by the so called media

Well, now that you mention it. We do. I do. And when we see it in practice, we shouldn't tolerate it, right? Are you off the Disney channel yet?

I guess we could take this whole thing from the right more seriously if they hadn’t tried to cancel millions of gay people, various left wing actors, the Dixie Chicks, Taylor Swift, and others long before Disney’s latest move.

But whatever. Hypocrisy is pretty rampant on all sides of the spectrum.

Gosh. You are utterly self loathing aren't you. I mean, Eisenhower republican and all, those were to policies of Republicans and frankly Democrats not so distantly in the past. The Dixie chicks committed the ultimate sin in country music. They because controversial. Today folks like Little Nas X are as flamboyant as they want to be and country music embraces them. Taylor dissed country because it didn't make her enough money. She OPENLY engages in cancel culture all on her own. As for "millions of gay people", that's a shared sin, wouldn't you agree? Now, I can't help you out with stupid lefty actors. I think they are their own worst enemy. It doesn't mea that I still don't appreciate the performances some of them create. And now, it's corporate Disney being the bully. And you're what? defending them?

I get what you are saying, but come on, the left practically OWNS cancel culture at this point. This is upsetting because she was PERFECT for that role and played it well. She should be able to make tweets about how clubbing baby seals is a nice thing to do and STILL keep her job.

What do you think Anita Bryant's nationwide drive to get gays fired from their jobs and evicted from
their rental units was all about? What do you think trying to nullify gay weddings was all about? Cancel culture.
It was a conservative tactic decades ago.

I don't recall that Anita Bryant had a "nationwide drive to get gays fired from their jobs and evicted from their rental units," but she's from the 70's, so if that's your cancelling, that's a stupid comparison. Nice that you could only come up with that though.

Disney Announces Cara Dune Will Now Be Played By Amy Schumer | The Babylon Bee

"BURBANK, CA—Gina Carano has been removed from her role as Cara Dune in the beloved Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Disney wasted no time in filling the role, with Lucasfilm execs quickly announcing that the part will now be played by comedienne Amy Schumer."

"Many fans expressed concern that Schumer won't do a good job in the role, but Disney spokespeople were quick to remind their audience that anyone who cancels Disney+ over this is a Nazi and in danger of losing their job. "If you want to show you're not a fascist, you have to keep giving money to a megacorporation that hates you. If you don't do that, you're already on your way down the alt-right pipeline."

Why though? Freedom of speech? Even normal people have this stuff(social media) surveyed before and during employment these days. Be careful about what you say on social media, you should be able to express your beliefs, but people like your employer, fans, family or friends have every right to react how they see fit. You should also be able to protest, but I would suggest you do not wear company attire if it is broadcast as that is reflected on your employer. The social media/employer thing is not new at this point, best to keep it private or not use it at all if you value your current or future employment, it will likely be surveyed.

Or just keep it here on Political Forum :headbang: , the best of forums, where we be anonymous for the most part!

I was going to agree with you, from reading your OP. Then I saw that you had completely misrepresented the article you quoted. I never got to the point in the article that talks about the nationalism of Nazis. This is how your cited article begins:

"Gina Carano will not be returning to The Mandalorian or the Star Wars galaxy after sharing a post on social media implying that being a Republican today is like being Jewish during the Holocaust...

"Carano has also been dropped as a client by UTA, an agency spokesperson confirms.

"On Wednesday, the hashtag #FireGinaCarano was trending following an Instagram post from the outspoken conservative actor and former mixed martial artist that was met with severe BACKLASH. The post has since been deleted, but screenshots were widely shared by users on social media who called for her firing from the hit Disney+ Star Wars show...

"This is not the first time Carano... has been the focus of social media ire for her political comments. Last November, she issued contentious tweets, one in which she mocked mask-wearing amid the novel coronavirus pandemic and another in which she falsely suggested voter fraud occurred during the 2020 presidential election."<end clip>

It is understood, in the entertainment industry, that one's public face affects one's marketability. You misrepresented, as a decision based on political judgement, what was quite evidently a business decision, by Disney.

    Shame on YOU.

All I can do is defend my own positions. And for the record I was pro-gay marriage far before the Democratic Party.

All any of us can do is defend what we've individually advocated for. I agree that hypocracy is rampant on both sides- so why take a side?

Funny how fast authoritarian regressives turn on private business owners making decisions based on what they believe. Hypocrisy is as hypocrisy does...

And I'm sure Disney is crying all the way to the bank over losing you. ;)
