Should be illegal - sans extra-ordinary circumstances - a few successful lawsuits against these Corporate Clowns who think they can control peoples personal lives will tune them in quick.

There you go. Cancel culture needs to be shut down wherever and from whomever it exists. Punishing people for politics is beyond ridiculous. Heck politics itself is beyond ridiculous.

Sad that you are not crying .. at the loss of civil liberty - Corporate totalitarianism.

Since when do you support a Corporation being able to fire someone over what they do in their personal lives - sans "Extra- Ordinary" circumstances .. which if not proven in court .. should result in a massive successful lawsuit.

This should be illegal .. and in fact probably is illegal in many EU nations .. just guessing on this one but would not surprise.

Should be the States making it illegal .. are they not entrusted to uphold the constitution as well ? .. This is a major issue .. Who gave corporations the right to dictate what folks do in their private lives .. sans "Extra -Ordinary" such as a case where someone is actually paid for their public image .. the CEO of a corporation and so on.

but- if ya didn't pay me to control my personal life .. then go piss up a rope - This is a no brainer from a sociological perspective - and a legal perspective ..

She is fine, the corporation does not dictate what she does in her private life, she can say whatever she wants and as previously posted she will produce her own show now. Or what I mean is she lost her employment, not her voice. But as I posted already, what we do on social media is reviewed more and more before and during employment that have consequences. She should have come here on the best forum, politicalforum.com :cheerleader:, with an anonymous name and she can say whatever she wants with little to no consequence.

I think you are missing the point by a country mile. The issue was whether her opinions were comfortably within the mainstream or not. The accusation was that her tweet was anti-Semitic. It clearly wasn't, but that was used as an excuse to fire her.

I question whether comments being comfortable among the mainstream, which is debatable and are not a guaranteed metric Disney is using. As far as this circumstance, the issue is whether her opinions were comfortable with her employer. Her employer determined they were not. Other people were comfortable with her opinion and are giving here her own production, so she got a new job. Lots of employers monitor social media before and during employment. Once again this is not new or the first time someone has been fired or denied employment because of what they put on social media.

I believe a company has the right to fire whomever they like. While I don't agree with them in this case, I assume Disney management considered her remarks hurt the company in some way. Her contract may well have banned her from doing politics on the internet. I don't know. But I doubt anyone has all the facts other than she and the company.

Rather than suggesting that the company's action should be illegal, your best approach is to avoid spending any money that ends up in their bank account.

Weren't we just assured that cancel culture was all in our minds?

CANCEL CULTURE IS ALL IN YOUR MIND: ‘Bachelor’ Host Chris Harrison Steps Aside Over Accusations Of ‘Perpetuating Racism’ For Speaking Out Against Cancel Culture.

"Bad Think led to Bad Speak"

In the graceless racist cult of CRT, there is no mercy.
This reads like a "confession" in a hostage video.
That turned up an unverified allegation that she’d questioned a former acquaintance for dating black men, but, the "unforgivable" sin was evidence that Kirkconnell’s parents had committed the unpardonable sin of voting for Donald Trump. The Daily Wire reported last week.

Harrison simply asked fans of The Bachelor not to act as “judge, jury, and executioner,” and give Kirkconnell, “a little grace, a little understanding,” and allow her to explain the photo and, potentially, apologize.

No such thing as corporate totalitarianism. Corporations engage in competition, not totalitarianism. The rest of your post is fairly offensive.

Of course there is such a thing as Corporate Totalitarianism .. but laughable that this is all you have .. basically stomping your feet and crying no no no.

I would call - having the ability to control someone's private behavior - and using that ability to exert such control - a form of Totalitarianism...

If you wish to use a different word .. Fine We will call it "Corporate <Blank>" What ever you suggest .. what do you call it when an entity is able to exert control over you - and welds that control strictly.

You have gone very far to the left - thinking that such a thing is desirable .. wanting to give up control of your life to the Borg , or some other dictatorial entity.

What do you call this happy state of bliss that I have mistakenly referred to as Corporate Totalitarianism .. I did not mean to mis-label your political belief .. What is it that you call it ? Corporate what ?

Like you, I don't have the details so I have nothing to call it. People who work for a business need to perform acceptably in order to continue working for the business. Everybody knows that. It is the opposite of government. Acceptable behavior is determined by the employer. If she did something she agreed not to do then the inevitable occurred. I don't think a company should fire an employee for having a political position unless that employee agreed to keep that position private. Where can i find the details - employment contract and that sort of thing? Then I will give you a better term than totalitarianism which can only employed by government.

IMO, companies can hire and fire people as they wish

Hmmm......using the strong arm of the government to hurt private corporations.......sounds a bit too commie for my taste.

Is that why they hired her in the first place? Is it why half the candidates in their primaries were women? Hillary for president? Harris for VP? Think before you post.

Is that why they STILL ended up with an OLD WHITE MAN with all of those "strong women" and pretty much every ethnicity there is, but guess what they ended up with. Did you forget? let me remind you

    AN OLD WHITE MAN

So, in your world view people demonstrate HATE unless they elect a woman president, and if they elect a woman, then it somehow means they HATE men. But again, the war cry oif Trump apologists has been that "the left" already hates men. Pick a line and stick with it.

This says more about you than anyone else.

"MY WORLD"? You are the one that made a big deal out of the gender of candidates. You guys sure do put a lot of focus on color and private parts. Its too bad you guys don't put that effort into actual POLICY
but still, with ALL THAT DIVERSITY, what did you guys end up with?
    Gimmie an "OLD"
    Gimmie a "WHITE"
    Gimmie a "MAN"
    What's that spell??????????????

OLD WHITE MAN! and a racist one to boot

No, I haven't. What on earth are you talking about? I am not Dem, not Repub. I'd be embarrassed to identify as either.

Yes, YOUR WORLD. According to YOUR statement people who do not elect female presidents HATE women. YOU said that, not me.

Own your words, as opposed to spouting nonsense, and then trying to attribute it to others. And now you are resorting to your favorite tool which it to accuse others of racism at every turn. The irony.......
