Here is a brief synopsis for those unaware of the basic facts:

Manning was an openly homosexual soldier prior to being arrested.

His arrest was based largely on the claims of a proven computer criminal by the name of adrian lamo:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Lamo

Even after all these months the investigators say:

"Pentagon and military officials also report that investigators have made no direct link
between Manning and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange."
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41876046/ns/us_news-security/

The whole story just kind of....stinks. The last important part is Wikileaks released info that was supposedly leaked to them by Manning long after he was arrested. The only reason wikileaks survives at all is by keeping sources confidential. I don't think the would have released info knowing the supposed source was already in custody as this would put everyone at wikileaks in serious danger.

There was absolutely nothing devestating about the leaked info and I would not be surprised if it was leaked on purpose to inflame people to attack our troops overseas because it gets really hard jusifying a military occupation when peace breaks out. More importantly, the leaks put the "War on Terror" back on the front pages for a little while. Im not actually advocating any conspiracy but what I am doing is asking people to look at the situation a little more closely.

He'll be lucky he doesn't face the firing squad for the deaths he caused...

Manning confessed and proudly admits to what he leaked. That is fact.

The bastard needs to fry as a traitor. He should have Hanoi Jane in his lap when he goes. That would be fitting punishment for a traitor homo.

This hearing was simply the equivalent of a civilian "preliminary hearing" to determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial.

Manning causes NO deaths, The insecure distribution of the information he may have released means ANY and EVERY spy, government agent, criminal and anyone else who wanted ALREADY had regular and easy access.

The ONLY people who didn't know the information already was the general public.

Manning would have to be considered a hero. And he is.

And he is in prison without charges and without trial. He is kidnapped by the government. He is just a political prisoner in the USA.

What were Manning's motives in taking the actions he did?

Manning is a scapegoat. They have been subjecting him to crude physical and psychological abuse since he was jailed, trying to make him turn witness against Assange, but he has more grit than they expected, so now they will make an example of him to punish him and scare others from revealing the rot in the system.

    LOL

This is the best part, he was protesting Don't Ask Don't Tell and less than 11 months after his arrest, DADT was repealed and the military was homosexualized.

So he became a martyr for NOTHING.

    LMAO

You shouldn't talk with knowing that he is held under the UCMJ and as a soldier does not have the same civil rights he did as a civilian.
