This new sense of faux patriotism embraced by the so called left, is so disconcerting. When someone says another person’s points of view are unpatriotic, they are automatically suspect, because this is the same method used to shut down dissenting views by the right, that has been employed for a very long time.

The truth is, this lady Ashli Babbit wasn’t a evil person, and neither was she a smart person. She allowed her irrational fears to be played upon by a demagogue like trump, and she paid for it with her life.

The bottom line of my viewpoint is that the woman was shot because she was viewed as a threat. She wouldn't have been the only person through that window if she was permitted to do so. And the people positioned as the defenders of the capitol and those who work there are armed. If they are not supposed to use those guns, why do they have them?

 

Why do the security hired to protect members of congress have guns? When, exactly, are they allowed to use them?

That should be their training -- first a verbal warning, then a dialog, then physical resistance, then more necessary force, then shoot. Out of all the police only one fired a shot. Sounds like a lack of training or the officer was not mentally suited for the job. But don't get me wrong, I hated to see windows broken, barricades breached, trespassing, disobeying a police officer, and stealing property. Round 'em up and arrest 'em which is what is going on. I fully support the police.

So it is your contention that she was killed because someone outside was supposedly yelling hand Mike Pence? Thats not how our justice system works. She is not responsible for the words or actions of anyone other than herself. She was killed for breaking through a furniture blockade. That should be concerning to anyonne, regardless of her political affiliation.

Who in their right mind would be part of a mob, breakthrough a window to a door that has been barricaded with furniture, and think they would be welcomed with open arms? Are you effing serious?

 

So anyone climbing through a window should be shot without warning. Fascinating.

Probably the same times when a cop would be allowed to use them. A cop cannot shoot someone inside because someone else outside said something bad or threatening, even if we are going to pretend the guy inside knew what was said by someone outside. A cop would need to see a weapon or have a reasonable belief that they are reaching for a weapon. In situations where a cop shoots a person and it turns out they do not have a weapon, they better be able to crediblyexplain why they thought they had a weapon. Climbing through a furniture blockade most certainly does not qualify as such.

If this were an unarmed black person that was not a Trump supporter that was shot by a cop (lets say at the Kavanaugh hearings), we can all rest assured that BLM would have been rioting from sea to shining sea. I do not think anyone can credibly argue otherwise.

While I cannot read her mind, I would doubt very seriously that anyone would reasonably expect to be greeted with open arms while coming through a barricaded door. Nor do I think that anyone would expect that unarmed trespassing would be greeted with lethal force without as much as a simple warning. By all accounts she was not a hardened criminal and in fact had no criminal record whatsoever. I would fully expect that a drawn weapon and a forceful "FREEZE OR I WILL SHOOT" would have likely stopped her in her tracks. Unfortunately, we will never know because that warning was not given.

 

I don't agree. No wonder government has the whole incident in a coverup.
