Plus, the Prime Minister does support same sex marriage:

?????? uhhhhh No one said a gay king would have a quenn. I said HE would be the queen. Prince consort cant supply him an heir to the throne. That would require a surrogate mother. I was just wondering if duty as a Royal Surrogate would carry a title of princess

Well, he also says "the LGBT community now know that the unique bond of marriage is available to them." I suspect British law still presumes a sexual relationship and excludes closely related couples from marrying so its still just marriage extended only to include gay couples.

Good for them, I'm still waiting for them to drop the double standards and legalise polygamy also.

The law is going to be altered I believe to enable surrogacy for those on the throne in order to produce an heir. Makes perfect sense really, what if a heterosexual king/queen were with an infertile partner?

Nope, I know you persist in ignoring the facts but there's nothing stopping two heterosexual men or women from marrying.

Since no one is claiming there is, not sure of your point, other than to dash off to the next strawman seeking refuge. LIKE I SAID I don't know anything about UK marriage law, but I suspect it contains a presumption of a sexual relationship.

You said it was "gay marriage" instead of same-sex marriage, which is incorrect. Whilst it primarily serves homosexuals, it's same-sex marriage because two heterosexual men or women can marry one another. No strawman, just correcting your fallacious little statements.

Just because they can get married doesn't mean they cant later be excluded.

Grounds on which a marriage is voidable..

A marriage celebrated after 31st July 1971 shall be voidable on the following grounds only, that is to say—
    (a)that the marriage has not been consummated owing to the incapacity of either party to consummate it;
    http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1973/18

    2. Your marriage is defective - ‘voidable’ marriages

You can annul a marriage if:
it wasn’t consummated (you haven’t had sex with the person you married since the wedding)
    https://www.gov.uk/how-to-annul-marriage/when-you-can-annul-a-marriage

What value does a platonic marriage in the UK have if it can be annulled by either party. No, its "gay marriage". Not for platonic couples, not for closely related couples but only for gay couples.

Interesting that your current marriage law is based upon the "Matrimonial Causes Act 1973". Matrimony, Latin root of the word Mater, MOTHER. Judges in the UK would certainly have a harder time, arguing as US judges have, that marriages limitation to men and women, has nothing to do with procreation and is instead intended to exclude couples who are homosexual.

There is no definition of consummation in a same-sex marriage, so it can't possibly be voided on those grounds. It's same-sex marriage, you've failed to prove otherwise. Absolutely nothing stopping a straight platonic couple from entering a same-sex marriage.

I was referring to opposite sex couples being excluded from marriage. So not sure what you are going on about now other than to point out they will likely make an exception to any requirements of consummation for gays.

No state requires consummation for the marriage to be valid.

Every state in the UK requires consummation if your spouse is seeking to void the marriage. Without it, the marrriage is voided, treated as if it never even existed because it was void from the beginning.

Only if an expectation of sex existed at the time of marriage, and only if a party seeks action from the state.

So like i said, no state requires consumation for a marriage to be valid.

Off with their head? Or pack them off to a religious institution. Why break with tradition. :)

And you're still not bright enough to have caught on yet that consumation in the UK, like the US, is not required to make a marriage valid

Nothing there about requiring consummation to marry.

You have a terrible habit of making arguments that get proven wrong by the very sources you cite

YOU SAID "required to make a marriage valid".
Sure they can get married. And that marriage can be voided, as if it never even existed, for a failure to consummate the relationship. Because it is an invalid marriage.

Only if an expectstion of sex existed and a party seeked pegal action.

So like i said, consumation is not required for a marriage to be valid

No, you are again confusing some US state laws with those of the UK.

No, you are pointing out that the silly ideas bouncing around in your head, regarding matters you know nothing about, contradict the real world around you, as usual.

Not sure why you think that helps you. Two people physically incapable of consummating can and do marry with a perfectly valid marriage. No requirement of sex exists
