No. Absolutely not. -Thousand of guns/rifles are prohibited to purchase and a thousand more on a restricted list. - Background checks are much more severe than those in the United States. - You can't legaly buy mags over 6 rounds for a rifle. - You can't travel with your gun without a special permission by police if it's in the restricted list. - All guns are recorded in a national register. Our two countries manage guns totally different ways.
Not to mention Canadians are relatively peaceful and aren't as exposed to American society. Detroit is only a few hundreds yards from the city of Windsor, Canada where they don't lock their doors, and near the end of 2011 there was exactly one murder. During that same period there were 385 murders in Detroit. But at least Americans are "free." Whatever that means... http://windsorstar.com/news/local-n...-and-detroit-murder-rates-show-stark-contrast
So to start my posting on this thread, I'll make it known that I don't care how much money he had as a millionaire, how nice he used to be or his love of music, he shot close to 600 people and killed 59 of them (maybe more if the injured die from their wounds).
Amen. But, for some, I live in a dictatorship where gouv wan't to control people by taking guns away.
Canada is more European in nature and if compared against the 31 European countries it comes in 4th in gun crime behind France, Germany and Italy.
Come on man, Canada's neighbor is US Canada is hardly immune to illegal gun(s) and sales, they too likey da monies!
Canada has a border they strictly enforce. They keep undesirables from Detroit out. If an undesirable enters unlawfully they are jailed.
Detroit - 79.5% black, white 9.5% Windsor - 3.9% black, 77.1% white But yeah, it's that darn "American society" with it's "freedom" that causes such a huge difference in violent crime compared to Windsor, a few hundred yards away. LOL!
Firearm-related death rate: US: 10.54 Canada: 1.97 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_firearm-related_death_rate
Well you don't think that might be just a little skewed Mr, Canada with a 38 million population in relation to a country with a 328 MILLION, dude Canada is just a much coolder California Come on brah, don't try and run Leftist math by me, it's damned insulting LMFAO
While the police believe they have identified the probable perpetrator, there are a few things to keep in mind: 1. No one actually saw the man shooting the gun. 2. Shots were fired at police through the door and when they finally went in, they found the suspect already dead, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. I'm just wondering whether there's any chance this could have been a set-up, though for what motive we don't know. Like maybe someone was hired to do this by a rival casino and the killer decided to take things beyond what he had been paid to do. Then they just have someone else on hand, make it look like a suicide and leave him there to take the blame, to throw everyone else off track.
Well it's not bad if you're not a Women and can handle being raped off an on, or run over by a really bad Muslin truck driver
I already know what I'm talking about. Fisherguy was arguing that "freedom" is the reason why Detroit is a warzone and a predominantly white city not far away in Canada is safe. He ignores a huge demographic difference between the two cities, which I thought was really funny. Hence my LOL!. Ya dig, bro?
It is almost impossible to survive in Canada illegally. Canada has an extremely well-integrated social and taxation systems which make it extremely difficult. Without proof of legal residency you can not obtain a driver's license, social insurance number, enroll in school, apply for health insurance, open a bank account, etc. Canada Revenue Agency is extremely careful in checking that companies are remitting payroll taxes and verifies SIN numbers. Canadians do not hire illegals as in the United States. Finding any job is next to impossible. Even applying without a valid SIN risks someone calling Canadian Border Services on you. Lack of bank account, credit history, or Canadian ID makes renting difficult. All foreign banking transactions are forwarded to CRA, the RCMP, and Canadian Border Services.
A model perhaps the US should follow particularly the point regarding the hiring of illegals being practically impossible. Now why is that model not used on the Mexico/US border...........the reason is not hard to fathom
It is. Canada has millions of guns. It only takes one and a person willing to use it. That, and the US and Canada have an open border.
