We had China by the balls before Trump pulled out of the Paris Accord. China was 2 years ahead of schedule on their carbon emission reduction requirements pursuant to the accord. Trump blew it!

Who knows... might have saved a handful of trees and one or two dead in Hawaii.

Yep! It didn't CAUSE the fire. It just made it worse.

Not sure why I am bothering to explain this to you. It's not even a relevant point. Slow Tuesday afternoon, I guess...

    Nope. Normal weather patterns.
. You haven't "explained anything to me because your grasp of climate change vs normal weather patterns is non-existent.

You mean the accord where China agreed to start working on climate change in about 30 years?
    Trjump made them build a dozen new coal-fired plants a year? "eek;
    Would have done squat.

Hardly a "factoid" It's a primary principle in climatology.

Exactly why is it so many people who have bought into the whole global warming charade seem to be utterly and completely scientifically ignorant?

    Hi, Bullseye.

I'm sorry to mention the effect of global warming on the fire, but there is a relationship.

Rainfall on the island has dropped by 30% due to thinning of the clouds. Cumulus clouds form with a flat underside. That's the point where the air temperature is cold enough to permit condensation of the water vapor in the air. As the overall atmospheric temperature rises, that layer occurs higher above the surface. The cloud tops do not change. The clouds are thinner. Thus, they hold less condensed water vapor and produce less rain.

A drier area -- change in climate -- coupled with high winds, were the ingredients.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well-informed.

No. I mean the accord by which nations do what we can agree to do in order to save lives. The number of lives lost to Trump idiocy is not quantifiable, but it's real.

Interesting, although I'm not sure the slight warming we've seen could account for that.

Which confirms it's irrelevant to this thread because this thread is not about climatology. It's about actions by dopes that cost lives.

Nonsense, few if any large nations are anywhere near meeting their Paris agreements. Even IF every signatory HAD met their goals i't highly unlikely that it would have had much effect since 2015.

The cultural Marxists can't even wait until the bodies are cold before playing their hand and strategizing how to exploit their deaths.

    Hi again, Bullseye.

Scientists go by what seems the best causal relationship until a better one comes along to take its place. That's the prevailing favorite.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

A Laughable joke, we have the smallest per capita carbon foot print of any developed country in the world, and we haven't been in worse shape militarily since WWII.

LOL, moving the goal posts again, eh? Do you have a motor attached or do you move them through physical effort?
I underhand that. My point was that sometimes nature does natural things. High pressure zones and hurricanes fit that description.
My regards in return. Stay well and thanks for the rational discussion.

So they just suddenly appeared in your head.

Reality does not really cover it. What you consider reality is not necessarily reality for me and my reality is just as good or better than yours when it comes to technical matters, especially on this particular subject.

Yep! It's a special power by which you look at little figures, and suddenly facts start appearing in your head. Some call this phenomenon "reading". Totally useless for people who have a condition called "the MAGA syndrome", which is known to produce severe dyslexia.

Incorrect. The fires on a Maui were actually exacerbated by excess rain during the past rainy season. Lahaina received 116% of normal rain last rainy season. This caused even more non native species plant growth than normal.

If it had been drier, the fires would have been less severe.

It’s best to not base our opinions on what journalists say.

Bullshit. All of it. China wants dominance and they will tell you whatever BS they think you want to hear while simultaneously opening a new coal mine every month.

You know what lightning is right. Near as I can tell from your various post your understanding of climate science is limited to what you read in the head lines of the NYT.
