They are saying that it would be better for a robot lacking the accompanying biological sex characteristics to be called a "she" based on the way the robot presents alone. And they don't even get the irony.

I like how cartoons are promoting accepting people who are different. What I find annoying on new shows, actually, is how they feel pressured to represent minorities into roles they don't fit in based upon the traditional story.
