Walking Dead is filmed in my county. I've seen every episode. The memes would totally be lost on people who don't watch. Most of the show is filmed in Senoia and fairly rural southwest Georgia. Much of the cast is British so hearing interviews with characters is a trip. Maggie and Rick have really mastered a convincing southern accent. That is unusual. I think non-American actors are more successful pulling off regional American accents. I don't get my kids stuff for the most part. They sometimes make videos and songs about our different generations that are funny to both of us. I think a lot of youth feel adults don't value or respect them. That to me is very unfortunate. My kids know so much more than I did at their age. They can do plenty I can't and are incredibly smart and interesting.
Yes, I did. And some people following the conversation may not realize that by putting a full show together in less than a week, they brainstorm and create the plot, record the audio, produce and edit the animation, have it screened, make necessary changes, and then air it. In under a week. Their production operation is equally impressive. And each week after week, new material, fresh plot, pushing the envelope.
Well, I still don't agree that it's "brilliant." Lol. While I do watch Family Guy and South Park sometimes, sometimes they are just a bit too raunchy and cross some lines for me personally, such as the old man pedophile on Family Guy or whenever they do those stupid song and dance routines. They try too hard for the "shock factor" sometimes, IMO.
Plenty of people are involved and necessary to produce each episode. You should watch the behind the scene on the process.
I'm quite sure it's much more time efficient when you are working with images and not real people, so that is probably a reason why they can put out new episodes in short periods of time.
Southpark hasn't shocked me in a long time. It's not terribly funny anymore to me. I was 20 when I first watched it, I'm 40 now. I catch bits when my 18 year old is watching and he thinks it's hysterical. It's as relevant today as it was 20 years ago.
Simpsons, Family Guy, no other animated show completely puts together an episode in a week....not even close.
Well, we will have to agree to disagree on this point. I really don't see that there is any "brilliance" behind using current social issues and making them into cartoon parodies. - - - Updated - - - It's a good idea though, I will say that.
I think, given their success and endurance, Comedy Central has given them a lot of creative freedom with minimal inteusion by the network. Media has drastically changed over the past 5-7 years with cable on demand, streaming, Gulu, Netflix, and such. Network television as we knew it is evaporating. The restrictions and rules have been unbound. We watch what we want, when we want, where we want. What's your favorite show?
Ok I have a lot of favorite shows. Here they are in no particular order: Parks and Rec (so funny) How I Met your Mother South Park Family Guy Burn Notice (perfect balance of comedy, action, and drama) House The Office What about you?
On TV? Well, I watch a lot of Seinfeld reruns and King of Queens. I'm not really crazy about any of the newer sitcoms. They just don't make me laugh like Seinfeld and King of Queens. I do like Mike and Molly for a newer sitcom.
Loved How I Met Your Mother but watched reruns, not start to finish. Love the actors on that show. I watched Neal Patrick Harris as Doogie Houser when I was a kid. A fat man that can play a womanizing slut straight guy deserves a manor award. This one time at bandcamp chick was great too. The writers made every episode I saw funny completely utilizing the great talent of the cast. Parks and rec is too quirky for me. My husband and artistic, slightly dark 15 year old love it. Family Guy I have seen an episode here and there and it's funny. Way funnoer than the Simpsons. As a southern girl, I hate the accent attempts save Quagmire, Brian, and Stewey. Youtube used to have this Quagmire montage that was hilarious. Southpark is epic to me because it was all original when I first saw it. It is part of my generation's sense of humor and what I think we identified with because we were okay with being challenged on every level even though it was uncomfortable at times. Even though I don't watch it much today, I appreciate how it forces my kids to think about controversial topics that are not comfortable to talk about. It pushes them to adk themselves questions and to wrestle with internal and social conflict. I feel people who see it as a shock value cartoon don't possess the intellectual capacity to see what it really is. Love House. For a lot of reasons. Never watched Burn Notice. The Office is like Parks n Rec to me...but honestly I have only given those two shows 2-3 watches. Steve Carell however is known for his quirky comedy roles but he will be the next Tom Hanks. He is an incredible actor currently known for his comic roles...but I have seen a couple of not publicized movies with him playing a role worthy of an Oscar.
I loved Breaking Bad because it makes the watcher re-evaluate their perceptions of good and bad and the nature of people and prejudices. I love Walking Dead because it does similar things....What kind of person would you become in a completely different environment? Would you survive? How would your priorities change? In the zombie apocalypse, I am pretty sure I wouldn't last long. Impastor...It's funny for me because I used to be very religious and am the antithesis now. Grey' Anatomy-it brings out the totally emotional girl in me and human relations. Game of Thrones-I love the battle of good and evil in each of us. I also am a history and mythology geek so this one wins all around. Orange is the New Black, Sons of Anarchy, anything on TLC, Richard Dawkins...my taste is very eclectic.
I love football. I'm from the town where the New England Patriots play. Born and raised Are you a Falcons fan?
I can appreciate all of those. Bet you're middle aged and married. They are funny to me because I can relate. Bill Cosby Himself is a stand-up performance he did in the very early 80's, I think. Anyone, correct me if I'm off on years. I was born in 76 and I remember my parents renting that VHS tape from Blockbuster when we got a VCR early-mid 80's. They thought it was hysterical. I didn't get it. At all. I watched it again when I was 37-38 with 3 kids and a husband... I laughed so hard, I cried. I got it. I'd wager you are over 40 and have no children.
She'd better not give up her day job to be a psychic! - - - Updated - - - That's me in my avatar. You think I look over 40?
