An appeal to nature when used as a fallacy is the belief or suggestion that natural is always better than unnatural"
Left wing gibberish. If a woman wants to choose what to do with her "own body", then let her do it before getting herself knocked up. Adults know where babies come from, there is no excuse for having to destroy a life that they made with another human being.
Equality is not even a good thing. Firstly because it can never exist since humans, by nature, are diversed and secondly, it is bad because it kills individuality and makes us all the same. Anyways, my primary concern with Feminism is that it bases its whole raison d'etre on physical attributes and such a movemt can never be taken seriously.
I agree the father should have a say, I had a friend whose girlfriend had an abortion only telling him after she had it, he really struggled with this for many years until he had his own children.
Really? So if a man says, "have an abortion" the woman must? If the man says, "stay pregnant , I insist" the woman must stay pregnant? You can't be serious???? And the guy in your scenario? If he struggled with a kid who wasn't there then imagine what the woman would go through with a kid who IS there...he seems overly delicate ...SHE should suffer so HIS feelings aren't hurt???? No no no no...
Does that mean that no sport should ever be taken seriously since they are based upon physical attributes? Basketball, baseball, football, hockey, etc, etc are not to be taken seriously? Then there is the physical attribute of intellect. Should Quantum Physics or Medical Research not be taken seriously because it is based upon the physical attribute of being able to think?
No that's absurd, that would be equal to giving the women zero rights. Yes and I think in this scenario the father should then either adopt the baby or allow the abortion to go ahead. The mother who wants to abort should waive all her rights to the baby and the father should have the final say.
You "father should have the final say" That says that you believe the father determines if the woman has an abortion or not. It says that the man should be able to force the woman to do his bidding... That's BS....where did you get the idea that men own women they have sex with? Where does it say women give up their rights as humans and men have more rights because they impregnated a woman? You: ""The mother who wants to abort should waive all her rights to the baby"" If she has an abortion there will be no baby. Or did you mean that she should go through 9 months of pregnancy and then childbirth so someone else can have a kid she doesn't want??? That would be just plain NUTS!
lol you are over reacting, I'm the last person who would say this >>> I'm saying "give the father the opportunity to keep the baby" why should the mother wield a sword of life and death all on her own? There are men on this planet who love and want their children even when a mother does not.
But you keep repeating that the father has a say in it.....THAT is as if he owns the woman and can tell her what to do, abort, or give birth..........don't you see that?? Women wield the power over their fetus's life or death because it is in THEIR body, it is not in anyone else's... Women don't owe anyone a baby.....and they certainly don't owe anyone 9 months out of their lives of pain and physical damage so somebody else feels better.
How sexist by you, trying to make me yield my own argument by referring to sports just because I am a man. Eh. No. Feminism is not a science nor is it a sport. Feminism is a political movement and a political movement that bases its whole existence on how people look is not to be taken seriously.
I exposed the complete and utter fallacy of your allegation about feminism by putting it it into the context of sports, and it worked. The REALITY is that feminism is based upon EQUAL RIGHTS. As an American it is my duty to uphold equal rights under the law for all irrespective of race, creed, gender, orientation, etc, etc. Just because someone has different physical attributes does not mean that they are not entitled to equal rights. Should short people be discriminated against because they can't reach the top shelf in the kitchen? Should old people be discriminated against because they can no longer put in 8 hours of work every day? Since feminism addresses unconstitutional discrimination it has a legitimate purpose and is taken seriously by all Americans who understand that they have a duty to uphold the rights of others.
Actually no. As far as I'm concerned all Feminism ever talks about is genitalia and skintone, i.e. physical attributes. Sounds mint to me. So you are saying that men do have reprodcutive rights then? I don't believe in a state ever being able to uphold "equality" and order. Furthermore I do not believe in affirmative action or any other anti-discrimination programme.
Even if I did , so what? AND only with the greatest of imagination and/or hatred could you deduce that from my post : """Quote Originally Posted by FoxHastings View Post Really? """""" You ARE hilarious ......and have no idea what feminism means or stands for....quit listening to Rush...
when you figure out a way to create the baby inside your body, you will have a say while it's in you you have a say now who you put your sperm into..... if you believe in equality, why don't you let people use your body parts to extend their lives without your permissions as long as they need to, go to the hospital and say you want to be a human dialysis machine for people, they can use you when ever they want and you have no say in the mater.... ...
I am still not for regulating a woman's right to her own body. I oppose that just as I oppose all forms of government regulation. Anything else would be hypocritical. For me, abortion is a moral matter and only reason I like to discuss it is because it is intresting from a philosophical point of view. Who is Rush? Um...Actually I happen to be highly intrested in politics and ideology, I have a degree from a Lib Arts department which means I've read tons of Feminist thoery and I happen to live in Sweden, Feminist Mecca of the world.
So WHERE did you come up with the stupid idea that I hate children....don't make statements that you have no proof of, it makes you look pouty. And I don't care where you come from if you are saying, """As far as I'm concerned all Feminism ever talks about is genitalia and skintone, i.e. physical attributes"""" you are listening to the wrong people....they may BE feminist but that is NOT what feminism is about... ....and when anyone on the internet brings up their degrees I always mention my Nobel.........
