I don't think either of them are racially motivated. Breaking and entering is always considered willful and malicious not to mention shows prior intent. Also Zimmerman got bail because bail is not ever to be considered a punishment. Bail is used to force individuals to come back to court, as opposed to fleeing the country or just running off into hiding.

Good Lord! I've read some pretty stupid questions on this topic, but your takes the prize...... what a pity you don't have the mentality to figure it out.

In the Z/M case, 2 guys, 11 yrs apart & both young, were outside and where one could get away from the other.

In the elderly couple murder case, the predator was 20 yrs old and they were in their mid 80's ... getting the pix yet?

He had them trapped w/no where to go and not the strength to fight him off. He beat and raped the 86 yr old defenseless woman.... what? You don't think that's 'heinous' enuf for you? He beat the old man and later the man died.....

He beat, raped and murdered 2 old defenseless people who were not following him, threatening him..... and who knows whether this savage chose them b/c they were white or m/b just b/c they were old and not strong enuf to fight him off.....
