    Can we get Islamists to understand we are all human beings? It would be nice if Mr. Moore and his compatriots actually cared about non muslims under attack as much as he allegedly cares about muslims.

    America was once known as the melting pot of the world. Perhaps if that ideal continued where people from all over the world came here and slowly adapted and adopted American customs and tradition perhaps Moore statement would have made more sense. My wife who originally is from Thailand learned around 20-25 years ago from classes she took for her citizenship test given by the naturalization people, that there are no hyphenated Americans. Regardless of religion, race, color, creed or where we come from, we are all Americans.

    That has changed. Lots of it government driven, we have now African-Americans, Native-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, not the melting pot where one and all would become just plain Americans. We have been divided into groups and that division and groups reinforced by government. Call it legal segregation.

    Heck, blacks have to have their own congressional districts, Hispanics their own, even Asian's now have a couple of their own. Today it is division and differences over unity and oneness. All with government backing.

    I recommend you to read "Who Are We" by Samuel Huntington. You'll find out more about why American society is divided under ""identities"" this much.

    I'm glad Michael is a big fat pig. Hopefully, he will continue to feed his fat face with a lot of butter and grease, have a massive stroke or heart attack, and be gone.

    Beside you only quote part of that definition. You have to both believe that there is only one God, Allah AND you also have to accept Mahomet has his prophet which no one beside muslims do.
    So no, you can believe in the abrahamic god and still not be a muslim.

    Sounds interesting. I do not know if the melting pot was for real, but it was the ideal that we as a country were striving for. That has changed. For me it sort of boils down to a divide and conquer strategy in the search for votes as to the governments role.

    Divide and conquer might be true when it comes political instability in foreign countries but when you think about American society, this question pops up: what is to be conquered?

    Power. the presidency, congress etc. Being able to push an ideological agenda upon America. to institute a left or right agenda. To try to remake America into one's political ideal. Sometimes I suppose it is just power for power's sake. Perhaps the power of a political party. The power of ideas and their implementations even if most or a lot of America disagrees with some of it.
