Misinformation And Listening To The Experts

Well, we now have both the FBI and the US Department of Energy stating that their main theory for the Covid pandemic is the China lab leak theory. This after years of the left claiming this was nothing but a right wing conspiracy theory and attacks on Fauci's good name by the MAGA Republican crowd. And, the left have always maintained that we should listen to the medical experts and yet medical experts who did not conform to the government's official doctrine had their professional licenses taken away and were labeled as spreading misinformation. Social media banned them and cancelled them out of existence as their first amendment rights were taken away and they were punished for speaking something different than the official government line.

Can we now see the dangers of one side labeling everything that doesn't conform to their views as misinformation and conspiracy theories, systematically removing their opinions into silence, much the same as Communist countries stifle all discontent against the government? Even now, if you ask Biden and the lefties about this, they will deny, deny, deny, and claim that there is no strong evidence of how the pandemic started, even as their very own departments now say what they believe to be the most likely cause.

 

If they didn't believe it came from the lab then where did they think it came from? Obviously it came from the lab.

Absent hard evidence, the political palaver of conjecture will continue.

It was and still IS a right-wing conspiracy theory. Even if it turned out that Covid came from a lab, anything said that is not based on known facts is and t will continue being a conspiracy theory.

And this was not only a conspiracy theory, but a RACIST conspiracy theory. And it will continue being that no matter what.

You see... even a broken clock is right twice a day. So if you say something based on known facts... that's because the clock is not broken. But if you say the same thing based on xenophobia, it's still xenophobia. And the clock is still broken.

So a 1 in a billion/kazillion chance virus just happened to come from some bats sold at a market right down the street from a lab that was creating/experimenting on viruses exactly like COVID…but it of course came from the bats

Where the virus originated from doesn't impact anyone's life. Once it was out, what we needed to do didn't have anything to do with where it came from.

 

For different reasons. The FBI and DOE because of facts they uncovered after years of investigation. And xenophobes just days after the outbreak out of pure xenophobia.

Xenophobia is still xenophobia, no matter what we discover later.

Seems like Biden's executive branch is the one saying it leaked from a lab, are you mad that he's allowing the truth to leak out?

Trump was in charge of the executive branch for the entire first year of the pandemic. Why didn't any official tell the public the truth during that time?

 

No. This is about the origin. Whether natural or a leak from the lab. The bats refer to the form of transmission.

Nothing above is confirmed. But if it turns out the leak is accurate, that doesn't remove the fact that the reason why it was the preferred explanation by the right was xenophobia.
