It's the election 2012. Romney has won the nomination. Who do you vote for? Obama? Or Romney? Or a third party.

If the GOP fails to put up a respectable nominee in 2012 I will stay home.

I think I would vote for Romney over Obama in 2012. He seems like an excellent choice for president, but I'd like to see him out in the open exchanging with the people. I'd like to see him on the campaign trail answering tough questions, expressing his views in his own words. I'd like to see how he acts and re-acts. The one major reservation I have, and likely the same one many others have, is his religion. He doesn't appear to make a huge deal of it, but it's part of who he is. I hate the thought of voting him in and then suddenly he has a polar shift and starts making really important decisions based on views formed by his religion. I don't mean to imply that would always be a negative... it's just disconcerting.

I live near the area where Mormonism began, and have lived in Colorado, Nevada, and Utah where there is a larger Mormon population. I have known and befriended several Mormons and have to admit that I don't really have any complaint, they have all been good folks who left good impressions in my mind. I just get weary where religion is involved.

He is definitely a conservative, but not an extremist. This wiki link describes his views on many issues: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitt_Romney#Political_positions

I didn't personally find many objections to his positions as described.

    Third grade juvenile error.

Get your spelling correct and then let's discuss like adults.

President Obama has performed as expected, which would be miserably, and I have less confidence and trust in Governor Romney. I would probably hold my nose and vote for Governor Romney but it would be nice to have one vote before I die where I got to vote for someone I actually wanted to see elected. I'm too old for that to happen, though.

The error in the title reminded me of a caller on the radio ranting about President Bush and saying, "Don't blame me. I voted for Kirby." The host of the radio program said, almost in passing, "You mean Senator Kerry."

"Don't tell me who I mean. I mean Kirby. I voted for Kirby."

This assumes Sarah Palin would not be an option. She'd be beaten by Romney in the nomination process. So are you assuming that Palin would run against her party? Or would you just write her name in either way?

Mitt isnt my first choice, but he would be acceptable. I would rather have Newt though. And I'd take Condi Rice over either of them.

But Mitt is the one of the three most likely to be running against Obama.

Newt has too much baggage (and doesn't look good on camera), and Condi sure as heck won't run, so Mitt it is. Newt might fit in a Cheny-like VP role although I'd rather see Jindal there.

Neither Willard nor Barry have any chance whatsoever of getting my vote in 2012.

I think Sarah Palin will beat anyone of these old pretenders to the throne.
She is to the point, refreshing as usual and the best national, ideological patriot the US can muster.

Good luck Sarah Palin I will keep my fingers crossed because you are the most honorable individual, the most trustworthy and the one who loves America most!

All the current polls are showing Mitt way ahead of Palin. So I doubt she'll get the nomination.

She's far from my first choice, but yes, I would certainly vote for her over Obama. I wont vote for her in the primaries though.

I do fully understand wanting Newt to be the headliner, but actually Romney has the goods backing him as far as executive material. He did a good job in Mass. and also did one heck of a job with the Salt Lake City Olympics. If those who don't understand LDS would actually learn what it means to be LDS, then maybe his membership of his church wouldn't mean so much. To me being LDS is just an excuse to write him off, rather than trying to look at the man. I would vote for Romney in a heartbeat. Palin, well, by the time the primaries are on their way, I think her peak in popularity will be starting to dwindle.
