I think about the life that I have today, and the life I would have had 60 years ago. There is still racism. Many things are not perfect and there is still much work to be done. Dr. King would be very upset to find Black people calling their fellow Black people "sellouts", "acting White" and the "n" word.

On the other hand, I prefer the life I have now to to the life I would have had in 1950. I think of the friends I have made, the things I have done. The college I attend, I would not have been welcomed there 60 years ago. I think about the kinds of foods I eat and the places I eat. There would have been a limited amount of places I would be welcomed. I think about where I rent. It isn't easy finding a place a rent simply because the rent market is tight where I live. However, 50 or 60 years ago, there would have been laws in place limiting me to certain sections of town. I live in the South(around the Atlanta area). 50 or 60 years ago, I could be called "boy" and the "n" word and I would not have been allowed to protest it. I can vote. If I so choose to serve in the military(I can't be in it due to medical problems), it won't be segregated. What is the point in fighting for a nation that does not even let you have the same rights as everyone else? I have a picture of some friends I was at a Christmas party with. There are mainly White females in the picture. 60 years ago they would have been ostracized and I would have been lynched. I have met people from all over the world and have made some friends among people.

Alot of this and more is part of why I take the Dr. King holiday seriously. It is also why I get angry when other people insult him.

There is still alot of work to be done.

I agree … and like all and any “groups of people”, there will be a fraction of who are not representative of the “majority”.

    With that said …

There are far more College Graduates now than in 1964
There is far more Corporate Executives now than in 1964

All you need to do is look around and you’ll see what you want to see, but the facts will always shine through. I could go on and on but the fact is, there is far more good than bad results. Now how do I know this, it’s because of the faint cries of Equality opposition. They are the ones feeling less superior and less advantaged, because they are the ones who now have to compete on a level playing field.

I think he would be apalled at how the clueless left wing has completely twisted his message into something hateful and full of revenge. He stood for hope, positivity, and (in case you missed it in the OP's quote) BEING THE BEST YOU CAN BE. You cannot be your best self if you walk around trying to play the victim.

If MLK were alive today, I think he'd be happy to see that we have a black president, but he would be disgusted by the way black conservatives are treated. Especially by their own people.

Be realistic. If Dr. King had lived, he would have influenced BOTH the "Left" and "Right"; to exactly what effect over 50 or so years, I don't know. But I'm certain he would have criticized many individuals and groups not merely the "clueless left" (as you refer to them).

As to the Op...he would think he the right wing is headed up by racist white men of extreme wealth, and he would be correct (again).
