The thread "Is it OK to have sex with kids?‎" has been completely deleted from this forum without any trace. It was in the "Law & Justice" section.
(I did not start the thread)

Unlike other threads that have been deleted by moderators in this forum, there is not even any remnant left that there ever was such a thread. For example, other threads that have been deleted still show the member who started it, and says something similar to: "Thread deleted by JP5
    Reason: Flamebait thread".

So why was this thread deleted? Why was no reason provided for the deletion? Why was it deleted?

The thread was not advocating for breaking laws, it was merely questioning the reason behind the current laws governing whether children can have sex. Did one of the moderators have prejudice and censor another member's political opinion merely because the moderator thought the topic was wrong, and that anyone who supported the original poster's views was a "sick pervert" trying to "molest children"? If it was okay to delete this thread and effectively censor political debate on the subject, one naturally wonders what other topics are forbiden on this forum?

It is one thing to delete a thread because it was probably just meant to annoy, offend, or anger others, rather than open a legitimate discussion. But it is quite a different matter to delete a thread just because it advocates for political change that a moderator believes is "wrong".

In the thread, "Is it OK to have sex with kids?‎", most of the posters just called the original poster a "pedophile" without any type of argument. I even commented on all the name-calling going on. What happened in that thread reminded me of Karl Heinrich Ulrichs in Germany who tried to advocate to repeal the criminalisation of homosexual relations, but was shouted down. The politicians refused to even listed to the argument for gay rights, rather they just made accusations and name calling, loudly interrupting the opposition and preventing them from speaking. From wikipedia: "1867, Ulrichs became the first homosexual to speak out publicly in defence of homosexuality when he pleaded at the Congress of German Jurists in Munich for a resolution urging the repeal of anti-homosexual laws. He was shouted down." In a way, this is the same sort of thing that happened to that thread that got deleted.

Ok, so they have some standards on appropriate topics but where do you claim political bias?

Seems like a non-partisan issue to me.
I don't see Independents, Libertarians, Democrats, Progressives, Conservatives, neo-cons or any other political group claiming foul.

If some posters want to legitimize pedophilia I am sure there are places that would welcome them however I'm glad this appears not to be one of them.

But to be fair, lets ask -

Any Independents, Libertarians, Democrats, Progressives, Conservatives, neo-cons or other political groups feel disappointed or frustrated because we can't discuss legitimizing pedophilia here?

(are those crickets in the background?)

See Ksh- there are things we can agree on.

The title of that thread glared at me everytime I opened the forums. The very title offended me.

I don't see anything political at all about removing it. They probably got a ton of complaints from the members.

I didn't see that thread but one has to wonder about the motives of the OP in placing it on the forum.

Not only does the existence of such a thread offend me, the existence of the person who posted it offends me. If any internet thread deserved the hunting down of the person who posted it and their full investigation and prosecution by the authorities then that was such a thread. Why is this even under discussion?

We all stand by the deletion of that thread. There is no need for such a thread. One must wonder why such a thread was even created, about the motive behind it.

If you wish to discuss this further, you can use the Suggestion Box.
