There are many questions about Muhammad's high regard for womans, it is difficult to understand why he needed so much wifes, probably somebody can explain it?And what's about his five year old wife Ayesha? Can Muslims really trust a Prophet who had so huge regard for womans? http://www.flex.com/~jai/satyamevajayate/playboy.html
Hey Admirers of Quran, you are dodging and avoiding the answer to my question. Also, you confess that Muhammad was a lecher or... Are you too coward to defend your Prophet? Also, if you deny to reply to my thread you confess that no one normal man with sound mind can believe a "Prophet" with 22 wifes whereby many of those are little children! Interesting is that no one "atheist" says anything, that's well-known that "atheists" fight only Christianity and never Islam, also, who stays behind "atheists" here? Saudi Arabia, radical Mosques or somebody else?
The Day number 2, no one Muslim or "Atheist" will explain Trustworthiness of a "Prophet" with 22 womans. The silence on this thread is the best evidence that so-called "atheists" and muslims fight together against Christianity and want to replace it by Islam.
Wait, atheists want to replace Christianity with Islam? How does that make any sense? Wouldn't atheists want to replace Christianity with Atheism? Just sayin.
Life on the Arabian Peninsula was VERY harsh... lack of water, sand storms, high temperatures and very little arable land. Muhammed forbid the exposure of infant girls... and assured that men could take multiple wives so that every woman would have the protection and security of an extended family. All of his wives, but one were older widows.
Polygamy existed in the ancient Christian and Jewish stories. I am not sure why one religion should be criticized for the exact same actions that members of a different religion participated in. Genesis 4:19 And Lamech took unto him two wives. Genesis 26:34 Esau ... took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite. Judges 8:30 And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives. Kings 11:2-3 Solomon ... had seven hundred wives ... and three hundred concubines. Chronicles 4:5 And Ashur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah. As for the alleged 5 year old, well, the bible covers that too. Numbers 31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Response: The purpose of more than one wife in islam is for the benefit of women. The marriage is to be done out of lust, but to help those women who are in need, such as the need of protection, security, and economic reasons. So the marriages of Muhammad(saw) is a reflection of his good and noble character, so there is no need to not trust him. As for his marriage to Aisha, yes Aisha was a child at marriage. But as I previously stated, marriage is for the purpose of loving, protecting, and safeguarding someone. So Muhammad's marriage to Aisha is justified, as there is no wrong in wanting to protect a child. His reason for marrying her young was simply because Allah(swt) revealed in a dream that he should marry her. So it was best to marry her as a child before she grows and be tempted or influenced to marry someone else. There was no sexual intimacy with Aisha until she became an adult.
Margot, a Christian btw, answered your question. But I can see why Palin is so popular in Alaska... Lol سلام
Response: Post 7 of the thread surely addresses and answers your opening post and demonstrates that Muhammad's marriages were justified.
they can't. they will run out of ammo. islam don't have loopholes, there is an overall logic and constency; if you let yourself and if Allah grants you faith, that is. they will come up with the same stuff over and over again. but those stuff, any sane person now knows, are just bad campaign by press for people who choose to be feeded by them, to stay ignorant. in other words, atheist will wind up where they started. that's my opinion of course. come up with something new, and i will gladly answer. this issue has been addressed many times. make more research.
