@AFM Don't look at ONE study. In Science, often you have one study showing something, another one showing the opposite. How do you sort it out? By looking at a meta-analysis pooling together several studies, then the negligible difference you saw in ONE study suddenly is not negligible any longer, huh? Here, adjusted relative risk 0.18:

 

Wearing a medical or cloth mask is the same as not wearing a mask.

 

Practically no one is wearing the N95 masks. And the medical and cloth masks do nothing to stop the spread and protect the wearer.

But remember, have multiple UV light air filters running on high at all times pulling in air from only one opening for which all air must go thru it - using duct tape to seal all windows and doors. You actually can order a mini flamethrower online - legal in almost all states. This way for your Amazon canned foods canned in China that you order online, when you open the door you can blast all the air before reaching out ASAP to kill the virus and grab it wearing gloves, immediately dropping the cans into a vat of at least 70% alcohol. Practice doing that quickly. That's your best chance of surviving novel corona viruses, other viruses and bacteria.

Either than or go live in a WalMart store that is open 24/7 - the more crowded the better - because virus can't go into WalMart stores.

I know, that's why I said, we'd need an educational campaign. We'd also need to beef up the domestic production of the right kind of masks, and their distribution to the population. I know we won't get either. It's unfortunate. But I'm just saying, it's not that MASKS don't work. It's that the WRONG masks, worn improperly, don't work.

 

What??? The death toll DID increase sharply 3-4 weeks after Thanksgiving. I hope you do realize that it's always delayed, given incubation period, course of illness, until death. From infection to death it's at least 3 weeks.

 

It's it the "executive edicts and orders" in many states that great grandparents should die alone in their home?

CNN and MSINBC should have some PhDs on many times as day convincing parents to practice screaming that their children: "STAY AWAY FROM GRANDMA OR YOU'LL KILL HER!!!"

What do you mean "after" Thanksgiving? The day after? Like I said, mortality follows at least 3 to 4 weeks after a superspreader event. Yes, mortality DID go up 3 to 4 weeks after Thanksgiving. And mark my words, it will go up again, 3 to 4 weeks after Christmas.

 

No no, see this is the problem with the fake news surrounding that study. It never claimed or demonstrated mask didn't work. Anti-masker fake news came along after the fact and either incompetently misinterpreted the findings or intentionally misrepresented them. But either way there was never a doubt about efficacy so the premise itself was bad from the start.

Listen, friend, you fell for fake news, ok, its really just that simple. I'm not saying this because I'm trying to mock you or because I think you should be shunned or damned for having this happen because it happens to all of us. Media is not our friend, its entertainment, and blogs (such as where the 'Danish study' myth originated) are 100 times worse. I wish that thread had been moved to the conspiracy theroy section the moment it was proven it's OP article was debunked lies, but mods didn't agree so it stayed there and fooled a lot of people. So the best we can do now is just use it as a learning experience.

 

Nobody is succumbing to old age natural causes, seasonal flu, and in one CO county gun violence. The fatalities from COVID-19 only is ~ 6% of the total attributed to Covid-19.

 

Thd study clearly showed no statistical difference between wearing or not wearing masks.

 

Plus most people touch them often and do not wash them.
