    You will find that because of that conflict that East Tennessee was unable to get a Governorship or a Republican majority in the legislature until just recent times. The state is divided into three grand divisions, Two of which were Democrat and the east which was Republican. East Tennessee was punished in the legislature for a century for being Unionist.

    If you look very closely at the civil war you will find that more soldiers were from Tennessee than either the army of the Union or the Confederacy. Both were comprised mainly of Tennesseeans.

    That, and Andrea Mitchell was called outside to do a live report on the street, not so much for reasons of safety but to get a sense of the reaction to the quake from outside the studio.


    I bet you think they put the black olives in a sealed can instead of a glass jar (like the other olives) because they're afraid the black olives might escape. Don't you?
