Way to downplay overt religious persecution, something tells me you would be singing an entirely different tune were the situation reversed.

It seems to me like you are blaming the victim and not the aggressor, maybe you would prefer that Israel launch unguided rockets into Gaza rather than the guided ones directly targeting terrorists who like the cowards which they are hide behind civilians while targeting civilians, unfortunately for you if Israel were to implement Hamas tactics many more civilians would be killed in that the reason there are not more Israeli casualties is because they have advanced warning systems and sirens and it is mandated by law that at least one room in the house must be bomb resistant; whereas, such things do not exist in Gaza.

But since no one is saying you cannot be openly gay, what does it matter to you about the culture toward gays, in far off foreign lands?

And in my nation, we used to send gays to prison for life, not that many years ago, or ten years for kissing, so hey, I don't feel we are in any position to take the moral high ground.

Besides, ignorance toward gays at least doesn't then turn them into phospherous bombs, that melt the skin from children.

An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere so spare me your cultural relativist bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

And what country would that be as if historical relativism is any better, in my country we used to enslave African Americans not so long ago so I guess slavery in other countries is ok today.

lolz ignorance is not the same thing is instituting the death penalty for homosexuality. Furthermore; WP is a perfectly legal incendiary and their is no definitive evidence that Israel uses it as an offensive weapon rather than its intended use as providing smoke cover to ground troops.

    A) When was the last time someone was sentenced to life in prison in the U.K. for buggery.

    B) Once again historical relativism is a ridiculous argument it would be like saying that because slavery was once legal in the U.S. that we should turn a blind eye to slavery in other countries.

Sodomy was historically known in England and Wales as buggery, and is usually interpreted as referring to anal intercourse between two males or a male and a female. In England and Wales Buggery was made a felony by the Buggery Act in 1533, during the reign of Henry VIII. The punishment for those convicted was the death penalty right up until 1861. A lesser offence of "attempted buggery" was punished by 2 years of jail and some time on the pillory. In 1885, Parliament enacted the Labouchere Amendment, which prohibited gross indecency between males, a broad term that was understood to encompass most or all male homosexual acts. Following the Wolfenden report, sexual acts between two adult males, with no other people present, were made legal in England and Wales in 1967, in Scotland in 1980, Northern Ireland in 1982, Guernsey in 1983, Jersey in 1990 and the Isle of Man in 1992.

It was only a matter of decades ago, not to mention the fact that it was then considered a mental illness, and gay men, often against their own will, were subjected to a range of experiments which were not only ridiculous, but a total violation of them as people.

But, you know what, I don't really think you are all that bothered about aggressive homophobia, at all.

I think if you were, then you could look in your own country.

There are plenty who go around attacking and persecuting a man, just because he as an adult chooses who to sleep with.

Sometimes these victims need support, and that can only be given by those that voulnteer their time.

Perhaps, with being a champion of gay rights, you would like to afford a little of your own time, to perhaps working on behalf of a gay support group, in your own country?

Making legal and actively prosecuting are quite different things.
