I remember when the Citadel denied women admission and now a woman is leading the Corp Most young Women dont even realize they were considered not good enough
The success of the women's movement has been sold as all-encompassing for so long, and now complacency has set in among millennials. We've seen some unfortunate roll-backs, especially with access to abortion, and wage disparity. Young women appear to busy to stay politically engaged in the movement.
You are wrong! Pro-choice organizations are getting more money than they have in years. Seeing the rollbacks has helped the pro-choice movement and will get women to vote. Tell me about the wage disparity. Are you saying that wages are worse for women then they were? Have you been following the me too movement? Did you notice the women’s march with millions all over the country and world participating? We have more active young feminists then we have had since I was a feminist activist We have seen elections now that were one for Democrats strictly because of women’s votes. Women are empowered!
Well, I hope I am wrong, but I sure saw little evidence of it in 2016. We should see a hell of a lot of elections where women were decisive being as they represent over half the total electorate. In the end, I'll happily trust your perception over mine.
It did you see what happened? Millions of women came together and let their voices be heard! Just google https://www.globalcitizen.org/en/content/women-just-had-one-of-their-best-election-years-ev/
Women aren't experiencing discrimination for the most part in the workforce. That might be why they prioritize their lives over being an activist.
How sad that people are so soulless that they can only identify themselves in relation to the group they happened to be born into.
Not soulless, just worthless. It's the same reason some young people join antifa or the ****ing Nazis. They feel worthless and want to give their lives meaning by joining some group which attacks others.
I think it’s cool that women are advancing in the world, just remember that if it wasn’t for that little feature between your legs, we would have used all of you for bait long ago.
What is even sadder is people who believe that people can only identify themselves in relation to the group they happen to be born into. That’s extremist stereotyping
I guess you see your groups as the same. People who join the NRA, do they feel worthless?Do environmental groups join because they feel worthless? Antifa thinks the neo nazis are dangerous..the neo nazis think jews and blacks are dangerous.
I assume you’re a high school kid....Or you could be like trump who also has respect for women’s *******
Do you think the reason that women are less discriminated in the workforce just happened in a vacuum? And by the way women are being activists in a different way. Check out the me too movement.
And I hate misogynists who are threatened by women. Doesn’t it just irk that women don’t stay in their place....what have feminists done that you hate them?Feminism is the believe in equal rights for women. So I understand why you hate feminists
So you can drive a car that man created, or fly a plane that man created, or be a part of anything that man created...dont get an arm cramp patting yourself on the back. You will need it to operate the vacuum cleaner...that man created.
Lucky men , they had the opportunity to create. See these women who didn’t have the white make privileges. Funny isn’t it now how women are advancing in science and medicine in numbers we never saw before. I guess it is just a coincidence https://www.thoughtco.com/famous-women-scientists-3528329
You can train anyone to do anything. Medicine? It started with the FATHER of medicine. Do you know what HIS name was? It’s like being a mechanic that has an internal combustion engine that ran yesterday but not today, you have been trained to repair it and if you do, it’s see, women are just as good as men.. heres an idea, invent the internal combustion engine! Hell, the bra and tampon were invented by men.
I am probably less misogynistic and sexist than any Feminist in the world since I do not feel the need to judge people solely on the basis of their gender and in that I do not believe women are weak, helpless little idiots who need the help of the law to get a job or to become a CEO.
No. It didn't happen in a vacuum. Women demanded change...and it came. I had an aunt who married in secret during the 1930s because she wanted to keep her job. I talked about my daughter and how she had a scholarship for college to a 96 year old women at church today. She said that she was third in her class but only her lesser astute brothers were eligible for scholarships as women weren't offered them. We've come along way, and now we are treated equally as per law and as per culture. The current agenda lacks commensense and seems more interested in making women victims and easy to manipulate. The me too movement was enlightening on many levels. I discovered I had intense respect for Taylor Swift who showed true courage and who no one talks about. I lost respect for all the many women who were found to accept payment to keep quiet.
The me too movement is a witch hunt that anyone with a sense of fairness and justice should be embarrassed about. It seems any male in a position of any kind of power who worked with any female between 15 and 30 years ago is “definitely” a sexual predator. Almost all of these claims of sexual assault cannot be substantiated and are outside the statute of limitations anyway. That doesn’t matter though, since the point is to destroy the man’s career life and reputation not actually get justice. So many of these accusations are deeply questionable, and yet if you question them you’re just a misogynist who hates women. Sad to see so many men accused by this weak trash folded instead of fighting for the truth, but I guess they knew it was pointless. The truth isn’t important. What really happened is completely irrelevant. Thanks to the current wave of feminism, it has become empowering to be a victim. Women are ready and willing to step forward into the limelight and let the world know that 25 years ago their now famous boss made a potentially inappropriate pass at them. Me too. I also was a victim. Me too. I also want some free fame. It’s in vogue now to be seen as the victim of sexual assault. Women everywhere are apparently willing to either outright lie about an encounter or simply rewrite an otherwise innocuous scenario from two decades ago to seem like some kind of harassment or assault. And these guys just have their lives and reputations trashed. The truth can’t be determined since it all happened so long ago. How convenient for the accuser. In today’s social climate if you can’t determine the truth behind an accusation then it must be true. Feminism is big on insisting we believe the accuser without evidence when it comes to matters of sexual misconduct and so that’s what happens. There are certainly men who have done nothing wrong but have had their lives wrecked by the me too movement but feminists don’t give the slightest **** about it. After all they’re just men. What’s important is that we push our narrative of widespread rampant sexual evil on the part of all males. Feminism was one of the biggest contributors to Trump’s victory. They forced some otherwise intelligent people to vote for him. They helped create the backlash that he rode into power. Worst of all feminism degraded what it means to be a victim. They made accusations of sexual misconduct into something most people now tune out. More and more people every day feel no need to take sexual assault seriously because in their minds any story about it is probably a fabrication. Feminism is setting the day we achieve true gender equality back farther and farther with their morally and ethically bankrupt social bullying tactics.
I learned as early as Grade 4, when children were making crude sex drawings, that children were clueless about such things.
I was an activist in the 70s and I remember telling my students that because I was a girl I had to have a higher average than boys to get into the city colleges and that I couldn’t apply to the specialized high schools like Stuyvesant and Brooklyn Tech. The kids said to me, “you must have been so angry” and I had to explain to them that I wasn’t angry because that’s the way it was but once my consciousness got raised there was no stopping it
