Its safe to visit USA too ...except for, interestingly, the places where most people are not allowed to be armed.

But there are other tings just as “fun”. Try camping in the wilderness WITHOUT destroying the wildlife. As for static target shooting - that is about as entertaining as playing a “slot machine” hour after hour

I am very familiar with wilderness camping having done a good deal of stealth camping by bicycle many times in my life.

I had loads of fun just the other day shooting a pellet pistol. Of course real firearms are more fun but I'm somewhat limited in that capacity.

Shooting guns is far more fun than sitting there doing the same thing at a gambling machine.

I'm sorry that you are unable to enjoy that activity.

And 9 out of 10 doctors used to agree that Camel cigarettes were better. Is there some point you wish to express?

How about all the folks those folks who screamed that we all had to get vaxxed? They're the same ones who demand we ban guns.

In order to miss it, you have to have done it... Did you used to shoot guns somewhat often?

You should at least consider practicing with the David sling like I do.

There is something very satisfying about being able to hit a dinner plate size Target at 80 to 100 ft with a 3 or 4 oz natural rock going at 100 mph.

And the very best part of that is that the government can't tell you that you can't do it.

Words can't describe the feeling to you if you're able to hit a beer can size Target at 100 ft.

I have done static target shooting and skeet shooting. But given a choice between that and say floating down Eli creek until you hit the ocean or sitting round a campfire or doing what I am doing now - waiting to be picked up to go to an astronomical observatory to see the wonders of the universe - nothing better!

I have a super cool green Lazer, you'd probably like to take with you !!

$20 on Amazon and it's rechargeable with your phone charger.

When you point this thing at a star it actually looks like it's going all the way to the star.

Of course you have to not be an idiot and point it at aircraft or distant vehicles or something.

People have gone to jail for doing such.

I actually have two telescopes but they are better at attracting rain than anything else I know. I went to the Charleville observatory some years back and it rained that night for the first time in 5 years!!!!

I'm getting older now so I'm starting to appreciate the effectiveness of a gun scope versus open iron sights.

It really is hard to shoot something if you can't see it.

And astronomically speaking it's very hard to point out some object that you can't get someone else to be able to see.

I like gazing at the Moon with even a moderately good pair of binoculars. It's a fascinating thing to do

So when you talk to someone with a gun and no diplomatic skill how does your diplomatic skill work out for you?

    This is no game.

If somebody threatens your life for your wallet you can't just write them a letter and hope they don't take both.

Guns aren't entirely banned in the UK, though they are (and long have been) heavily restricted. Regardless, I'd say the very fact criminals feel the need to resort to the risky business of setting up an illegal factory to create makeshift weapons out of blank-firers suggests the restrictions are quite effective.

Well it's not a simple question of "banning" either, but if you want to address gun crime, why not consider both elements of the phrase? That is, after all, exactly what this successful police operation was doing.

Carrying a concealed weapon for self-defense in England has been banned, except for the rich and politically connected.

Carrying a concealed firearm hasn't been generally legal in the UK for decades (if ever, I'm not sure). UK gun laws have always been highly restricted (without much public or political objection) and while some recent changes have been open to reasonable debate, it has always been a side issue in this country since we've never had the general gun culture that developed in the US.

No, I'm not. But, I never fell for the lie that the vaccine was going to "stop the spread". But, no doubt you bought into it.

My point was that this wasn't an aspect of any recent legal changes in the context of present day debates. It's never been a widespread issue here, before or after legal changes (which generally started coming in after WW1 due to an influx of military surplus weapons).

There was the Firearms Act of 1968, then the outright ban in 1997.
