Are you talking about the study by Diana Mutz that basically came to the conclusion that college educated white males primarily voted for trump due to fears they are becoming a social minority?

 

No I'm not I'm posting for my cell phone right now at work so I don't really have all of that information immediately available but I'll ask you again what party do you think is the party of the welfare vote and do you think those welfare recipients are highly educated

To your question, Democrats do use government programs about 30% more than Republicans do if you exclude Social Security which is “technically” an insurance. One of the reasons isn’t due to Republicans not needing it more or less, they simply do not utilize these programs that have been set up for all Americans because of pride.

Basically they need these programs but would rather suffer than take help because of their ideology. This is the same ideology Republicans want the entire nation to have.

I don’t know if the above does much in the “educated” argument. Some people on social programs have disabilities and are working poor — I have been unable to find a metric that breaks this down substantially.

They can't afford not to get out in front of this story can they? Black on black crime is BLMs Achilles heel. In fact blacks killing each other undermines so many narratives it's kind of surreal. Do the (D)s and blacktivists really want the world to believe that knife fight ... well brutal knife weilding attacks, are just a part of childrens lives in black communities? Making the perception even worse is that this happened in what looks like a nice middle class neighborhood. The assailant's mother described her deceased daughter as being an "angelic" honor roll student. What have liberal educators been teaching this girl, and other minority honor roll students about civility, and conflict resolution? If teen girls stabbing each other is just a teen rite of passage, then blacktivists should focus on abolishing that and give cops a break.

 

I don't mean this to be opportunistic, but I've heard it said that many on the Right don't take advantage of social services because they perceive getting welfare as bringing them "down the level of the black man".

 

That "level" being unemployed and dependant on government "crumbs"? I don't think being agaist taxing your neighbors to support your own needs says anything bad about a person. I do think spending years on welfare waiting for a "perfect" job does though.

 

I'm not sure what it means, but it could simply mean being black. Predisposed - because they are black - to being unable to control their behavior, and/or stupid and incompetent. Or simply inferior.

These kind of prejudices are etched through many generations, but I'm not sure what the average contemporary MAGA descendant feels deep down inside their heart. I've seen plenty of disturbing stuff on this forum alone. Just the other day someone said they didn't blame the Chinese segregating blacks, given the way that blacks behave. So in some quarters I would say these prejudices are alive and kicking.

 

LOL ... they're sure "etched" in your brain ... and I doubt that's healthy. What helps promote those stereotypes is part of what we're discussing in relation to this incident. More (D)s and activists than I can count are saying knife fights are just a part of growing up black in America. It's not Donald Trump, or conservatives who are saying that.

 

After providing zero evidence for anything you are claiming and refusing to participate because you are on your phone you come up with that single line in response to a multi paragraph response.

I don’t know if that is the case or not, I have read a few articles on why it is looked down upon due to how they perceive society views it when it is actually just their fellow conservatives. I have family that needs aid but refuses because they feel it is either a sign of failure or feel the government shouldn’t help anyone, I have other family that doesn’t need it but gets it anyway because it is “free money”.

It would be ironic for a white person to be against welfare for the reason you stated seeing that more whites are on welfare than any other race. Maybe they mean per capita — but I wouldn’t expect someone with such a grievance to understand what per capita to mean...

Plenty of anecdotal evidence on this board and elsewhere. I have no scientific data at my fingertips and admit that. It was a musing. I might consider following your breadcrumbs another time. Sorry if that upsets you.

Yes, I suspect it would just be a sub group within Conservatives, if anything. A lot of Conservatives are really quite decent people. I worked in 'Red' West Virginia for a bit and was able to see that for myself.

So admittedly there could be genuine pride/shame involved for your relatives not wanting to take aid, rather than a disdain of the company they would rub shoulders with doing so.

 

I can't even remember how we got here. This is what happens when you try and talk to someone interested in "winning".
