Additionally, and without major stroke symptoms, it is caused by diffuse arterial disease and frequently concomitant with atherosclerotic heart disease, significant peripheral vascular disease, hypertensive heart disease, diabetes, smoking history, etc

Vascular dementia, a common form in the aged, especially among those with the diseases I described to you, is a result of those disease processes. It is a constellation of symptoms brought about by reduced blood flow to the brain, as a result of those disease processes.

Go ask your nurse girlfriend for more simple answers to complex processes

They will care if it is one of their own , and if America has already had over 100,000 dead in just a few months then it will be inevitable that someone they know will contract this virus and very possibly die

Arh, you found some long words on the internet, how sweet. Vascular dementia, ie a stroke, less than 20% of all dementia cases, is not a common dementia. LOL at you posting the cause of vascular dementia, ie a stroke, it's amazing what can be found on the internet, well done.

And sadly I do not see any Americans coming out of this without losing a loved one

If they are lucky it will be someone near the end of their life, however it may not be

    upload_2020-5-26_7-21-24.jpeg

This was a sampling of those already dead and although a great number are elderly there are also people who are far younger some in their 20s and 30s

Each person here was beloved by someone

Nobody gets through life without losing a loved one. Cancer, heart disease, flu, covid-19, it makes little difference to the bereaved.

And who are you prepared to lose?

    That is the bottom line

It will be someone you know because this thing has not reached the top of the curve in America

And who are you prepared to lose?

By the time America reaches herd immunity everyone will have lost someone they love

If you are lucky it will be your great grandmother but it may be Uncle Joe who has has chemo or Aunt Lily who put on a bit of weight after her kids or.......

Think n who might be at risk in your family and what you might need to do to keep them safe

I am prepared, in a sense, to lose anybody. People die for all sorts of reasons. I accept that. I will mourn their deaths, of course, but what is to be done?

20% of all dementia is NOT = common.

"Stroke is a subset"? What on earth are you on about now! A stroke can give rise to vascular dementia

Carry on searching the internet for some more long words. Vascular dementia originates from compromised blood flow to the brain, the majority of cases arising from a stroke or TIAs. You clearly have no idea what dementia is but well done on your use of the internet

This is utterly preposterous, and it demonstrates how little you understand the numbers we're working with here.

Even if the deaths double, and then add on another half again, to bring the total to a quarter of a million COVID dead, that would be .1% of the population of the US.

Do you seriously think .1% of the population is a figure that would include a loved one of everybody in the entire country?

That small of number isn't even big enough to link people with a "six degrees of separation" or "six handshakes" connection, and it's certainly not big enough for a family relationship link, and it's not even in the same ballpark as "loved ones".

Sorry, your scaremongering appeals to emotion are made mockery by simple mathematics.

Yes, abortion service is an essential service just like a having broken arms fixed, heart surgery, and any other medical procedure.

Oh, I fell out of a tree and broke my arm. I think while I'm having a cast put on, I'll see if they can also rip that healthy, inconvenient baby out of my womb.

WTF does having a broken arm have to do with you getting an abortion?

Could you apply any logic to that statement at all???

I may or may not know someone who dies with or from Covid. So far, I don't know anyone who has had a case, though I know several who think we may have had it in January (including me).

When you get to be my age, friends and older relatives seem to start dropping like flies....from something....mainly from complications of old age.

No one's ever "prepared" to lose anyone, even when doctors tell you to be prepared to lose them.

Hide under your bed until it's your turn. Hide everyone you love under a bed too. Just use separate beds, so you maintain proper social distance from them.
