Nikki Haley would DESTROY Biden. So shouldn't the entire Republican machine rally around her?

It's clear: Nikki Haley would DESTROY Biden. A new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS found that Haley stands as the only GOP candidate to hold a lead over Biden, with 49% to Biden’s 43% in a hypothetical match between the two. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/09/07/politics/cnn-poll-joe-biden-headwinds/index.html

Even aside from this poll, it just seems so obvious that she would win. I mean the contrast between the two of them is stark to say the least. Tired, senile, old white man vs fresh, energetic woman of colour who would be the first woman President. It would seem that she would be able to generate a fair amount of enthusiasm. Side note: how good would it be for the left to have to deal with the first woman President not being one of them! You can just imagine the 'she isn't a real woman' articles!

So shouldn't the entire Republican machine rally around her? I'm talking Republican politicians and conservative media. I mean if their number one priority is the defeat of Joe Biden, if that is what they REALLY TRULY want, then surely they have no choice but to rally around Haley and allow her to obliterate Biden. Thoughts?

They should if the GOP was rational. She is playing to the general party. However, I don't think she will win the GOP nomination given Trump's lead currently. Trump's main problem are those 4 indictments, which ironically, is what is giving his commanding lead. But if he is found guilty of the January 6 or Document case, that can change quickly or the GOP will have to remove him from consideration at the convention if the GOP truly believes in the rule of law.

Why do you only mention the Jan 6 and documents cases?

Because those are the most significant cases that should start and end before the Republican National Convention. The Atlanta indictment will not start given the fact you will have 19 defendants, each with their lawyers to get rid of any potential juror that comes their way.

Why doesn’t Nikki Haley have a chance? It’s Trump derangement syndrome in reverse.

People should be rallying around her. Trump has always been part of the establishment but people bought the character he invented to run for president and thought he wasn't. But now, Trump IS the Republican establishment. Nikki Haley is anti-Trump which makes her the anti-establishment candidate, so shouldn't those anti-establishment voters flock to her now?

Biden only wins with the anti-Trump vote, so if Nikki starts to win, dems need to change course and pick someone other then Biden

I am sure you actually believe that. Anything would be better than acknowledging the truth. People support Trump because they hate those who hate him.

In the real world Haley is far from being "anti- Trump.

'Haley was among the candidates who raised their hands Wednesday to confirm they would support Trump as the 2024 Republican nominee even if he's convicted as he faces four criminal cases. She also said that if she is elected president, she would pardon him so the country can "move on."

But............she's a woman (a deficit among POTer's) who has taken a moderate position on abortion among rabid zealots like......

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall (R) argued in a court filing Wednesday that he can file criminal charges against people who assist those getting abortion care outside the state.

Marshall argued that people who organize travel for those leaving Alabama to receive an abortion, for example, may be participating in a “criminal conspiracy,” because abortion is illegal in the state. Alabama has one of the country’s most strict anti-abortion laws.

.......who is polling below 10% among Repubs. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-primary-r/2024/national/

Because thus far she, along with Pence and Christie, has in the debates thus far defined themselves as part of the problem not part of the solution.

Haley gushes over Turning Point's Charlie Kirk
Haley's proud of Diamond and Silk
Haley calls Kushner a "hidden genius"
Now as then Haley is still bowing to "Trumpism"

'It’s really hard to take Haley seriously now, as she praises Trump in her book while taking a few cautious shots at specific actions. You can’t cut her much slack, because—unlike some Trump sycophants—it’s clear that Haley knows better, yet is bowing to Trumpism to advance her political career.

Trump doesn't like her so that means his supporters are duty-bound to not like her too. And he doesn't like her because she was critical of him. In this climate, any Republican brave enough to be critical of Trump in public is a step above the rest of the lickspittles too afraid to alienate their voters by not towing whatever line he wants them to. The Republican party would be in much better shape today if there were more like her.

I think you have to consider disaffected Repubs who are devoted to Don will sit on their hands on election day if the Orange Menace is not the nominee. Also, that Trump could run as a third party candidate. There are consequences for Repubs collectively losing their minds.

Trump doesn't like someone if they're critical of him, then if they praise him all is forgotten because his narcissism got fed.
His stooges will immediately follow suit welcoming Haley with open arms.,

In the future if Trump thinks Haley as his VP would be his best bet at winning both of them will spin their prior criticisms of each other.
Haley would claim that she's not afraid to speak up to Trump and keep him in line. lol
Trump will say that Haley was always going to vote for him and pardon him. lol

Bottom line is Haley and other presidential candidates ( except Christie/Hutchinson who have no chance) still give Trump a pass for all he's said and done and the criminal charges he's facing even if convicted.

This isn't about doing what's best for even their Republican Americans, it's doing what these candidates think is best for their own political future.

You're not holding Trump's bone spurs to the fire when you'll still vote for him, convicted or not and/or pardon him.

    Trump or Biden in 2024?
Voting Americans should hang their heads in shame as we watch in real time the failure of the "Great American Experiment".
