Then you concede that it's not all religions. The topic can be debated without any need to engage in religion bashing.

I don't hear many righties speaking up for Rev Wright's right to speak his mind.

How's that work?.....if they offend righties, they shouldn't say it at all?...but if it offends lefties, they shouldn't be "shut up"?

It is typical of humans to east meat, but that does not mean all humans eat meat. Your point really is mute.

If you take away religion, the homosexual bashing (for the most part, as there are excpetions to every rule) ceases.

Okay, I'll take back the scrubbing remark. It's there on the site, the video works fine, and the remarks are there.

    http://www.prbcnc.com/services.php

It's the link for "Providence Road Baptist Church 05-13-12 AM Sun" (can't link right to the video itself, unfortunately). There's a short intro, then the video starts. The stuff about gays & lesbians starts about 1:05:32

If you take away bigotry, the bashing ceases. That many people use religion as the excuse for their bashing doesn't make religion the problem. Bigotry is the problem, and bigotry toward religion is still bigotry as well.

Is it your position that we should get rid of religion?

It does work, and as noted above, it's all there, and it is him speaking. So you can drop the crap of trying to pretend it was the product of someone else' fakery.

    Are you (*)(*)(*)(*)ing kidding me?

Do you know what they call a place where prisoners are "fenced in" and left to die off? CONCENTRATION CAMPS.

I can't believe that anyone calling themselves a human being, LET ALONE A FOLLOWER OF JESUS OF NAZARETH, would try to justify this sick, twisted interpretation of Christianity.

Yeah, like I said... I found the source, but it wouldn't work for me. I'll concede it was said. Probably not very hard to find one off-the-wall comment by a preacher someplace and build a story around it so all the sheeple reading it will react...

and talk about something besides Barack Obama for awhile. ;)

Oh calm down, Todd. That wasn't the point of his story and you know it. He wasn't sending them there to die of starvation or gas chambers... they were being sent there to learn that sex without procreation doesn't really mean much... in the big scheme of things. If our world turned 100% gay tomorrow, we'd be extinct in one generation. Duh.

(yeah, yeah, artificial insemmination & test tube babies... but I'm talking BIG PICTURE here. Try to keep up)

It appears that religion also breeds stupidity.

Right. "Sent there to learn." Where have I heard words like that before?

He's just your standard hate-monger twisting words of love into hate.

I've only had sex "with" procreation once, and I can tell you...it didn't feel any different than the times "without" procreation.

Sex isn't a bad thing if you're safe about it.

God wouldn't make something that fun by accident.

What you're doing is minimalizing and displaying your partisanship in order to avoid having to address the questions people have raised about these remarks. And you can stop trying to bait me with Obama, since I'm not a fan. There are other things to discuss besides Obama. If you want to talk about him, then create your own thread about him. He's not the topic of this one.

Funny, since you've been saying people were misinterpreting him, and now we're supposed to buy your reinterpretation of his remarks? Quote us the passage where he says this, verbatim.

No, you're spouting crap that you can't support. Artificial insemination and test tubes wouldn't be required. Not being oriented toward the opposite sex doesn't necessarily mean being unable to engage in sexual intercourse or procreate.

    Wait....I'm not gay......

But ya know what...I've found marriage has little to do with sex anyway. At least it didn't have a lot to do with my marriage. Worst 3 years of my life.

Care to explain how so? Are you saying that religion only appears to breed stupidity? Are you saying that the statements of some religious person provide that appearance?

Regardless, I know you can do better than this. One-liners are unbecoming.

Something tells me if there is a god... he would be "agin" people like this man. Not homosexuals. People like this are causing the average person to switch over to supporting gay rights.

That's what I used to think.

Religion is like sex in a marriage. If it's good, it can only be about 10% of the problem, and if it's bad, it's 99% of the problem.

Face it, there's nothing new in the world of sex. What might be new to you has been done for thousands of years by billions of people.

The original purpose of sex hasn't changed either. Babies keep being made the old fashioned way. They grow up (gay or straight), discover sex, think they've invented it... and here we go again. ;)

My guess is that there's a rent-a-boy scandal in his future. It always seems the ones that are the most rabid or have a wife in politics turn out to have skeletons in their closet the size of a Trex.
