    I am not wrong

The only reason north korea under kim exists is to unite with south korea under his control

He does not want nukes only as a passive deterrant

In general, I agree. But I do not quite agree that the main motive is to rob the North Korea. I think the main goal is to create a crisis in the region. The Central Bank of Russia has created a branch in China. Russia is preparing to start borrowing in RMB in December-January! It allows to spit on the sanctions of the west. And China will be able to promote its currency as a reserve.

If you spend 2% of your GDP on defence spending, you have met your NATO obligation.
    If you don't you haven't.

So no, you don't spend it. And everyone knows this, including all your European defence partners.
Who all much prefer being allied to America who spends more than this.

2% by 2024. We meet our obligations completly until 2024.

You have no allies comrade. The italians sold us your F35 data for example. All others betray you as well.

I rthink they will respond to deterrance - until the day comes when they dont

Imagine yourself as the next liberal president and north korea is making demands such as pull out of south korea or it means war

Naturally being an obama protege you comply and give them $15 bil extra for pain and suffering

Next they demand you leave japan also

    Will you do it?

    Or call their bluff?

Realistically, they will never have an offensive use, and every strategist in North Korea has to know that.

I think Russia will respond to deterrence - until the day comes when they don't. So therefore we need to go to war with them right now with all the millions of deaths that will entail in order to stave off that minutely possible hypothetical, right?

As I posted earlier and you did not deny, it wasn't a liberal president that abandoned a US ally. It was a Republican.

Its more likely that an "America First!"-er like Trump would say "Why should Americans sacrifice their lives for foreigners who aren't paying us a premium to do it?" and then abandon them.

I dont know why a minor incident in Georgia 10;years ago is so important to you now.

But the issue is north korea and what to do about them

I don't know why you keep claiming a liberal would abandon our allies, when that seems to be a conservative trait. Hell, Trump would even abandon our NATO allies over an issue as petty as money.

What that has to do with Kim wanting to get nukes and how you think that is a threat to the USA, is beyond me.

They did it before in South Vietnam

And the left is doing it again by enabling kim to develop nuclear weapons that can reach the US

Then a liberal president will have all the excuse she needs to abandon S Korea

I think you know the reasoning for not allwing kim to have nukes and simply reject it

As liberals have fot the past. 30 years

The left opposes action and has since jimmiy carter was an emissary during the clinton adminstration

The American people were promised by clinton that north korea would never have nuclear weapons and now they do

Trump is difficult to pin down. He looks like he's going "that way" but the next day he goes "the other way".

See, this is why I or no one can take you seriously.
I reject nothing, except starting WW3 or similar to stop them.
I don't want them to have nukes anymore than the next person, including you.

Until you stop your silly hyperpartisan BS, it's simply not worth any time discussing with you.

How about we just stop ************ and selling them reactors. You know, make a decision. Hell, you helped pay for those reactors.

Of course you reject something. You just stated you reject starting a war.

There are those here who think it less costly to stop him now even if it means armed conflict. You people seem to think he has nuclear weapons to unleash now and will kill 'millions'. He has bombs but no way to deliver them. He can't even accurately deliver them to SoKo. We don't even know if he has the ability to put a bomb on a missile although he might be able to send something short range and low altitude. His last missile broke up on reentry.

Best to kill a scorpion while young and underfoot. And yes I've given up on a non-military solution.

It will be bad enough using conventional weapons. No one is diminishing the horror but peace at any cost is not a viable option.

I said nothing of people like me. I said NO ONE takes you seriously.

You have no earthly idea how to stop them either.

Yes, that is what the word, except means.
No. I don't think he has nukes.
As I said, and you gave a decent rebuttal, but, IMO, China will not sit by while we wage war on their neighborhood. Likely Russia will not either.
If war was a good option, we'd have done it already.
