I just saw that tonight. I'm not an Obama fan and I'm voting for Trump.
But I gotta think that there was some kind of crossed up understanding
on that one. I don't like isolated sound bite clips that present something that is
contrary to common understanding. I like to hear what comes before and

to know that if he answered a question like "Can illegals vote ?" with an

Within 20 years really isn't that long. 5 POTUS cycles.... Maybe being in my mid 40's, seeing what I've seen happen in this country has taught me 20 years isn't that long of a timespan. IDK.

 

That could be, but I think his thought processes are so embedded in open borders and open voting, that what you suggest isn't the case.

Ok ... where to start here? ...

1) Font size is not indicative of truth.

2) As Rammstein alluded to, context is key here. This is a very standard Fox News tactic (taking things out of context). I'll show you what I mean. Here is the original video (The question begins at 3:23):

When you listen to the full context it is very clear that he is telling her that if she votes (as is legal to do so) she should not worry about a family member or friend being tracked down for being illegal.

Here is the text - "“Not true, and the reason is first of all, when you vote, you are a citizen yourself — and there is not a situation where the voting rules somehow are transferred over and people start investigating et cetera,” Obama responded. “The sanctity of the vote is strictly confidential in terms of who you voted for. If you have a family member who maybe is undocumented, then you have an even greater reason to vote.”

Notice the bold - It's what fox news left out. ... And it is quite important. He is NOT saying that illegals can or should vote. He is saying that if you are a citizen and you vote you do not have to fear immigration going after an illegal family member (say your brother or uncle).

3) The interviewer is a US citizen .. she was born in Chicago. When she votes it will be entirely legal. If her uncle is here illegally from Zimbabwe, she does not need to fear that he will be tracked down just because she voted. That is the point he is making and it is very clear in the unedited video.

 

So now its if you vote that makes you a citizen instead of you have to be a citizen to vote ?

Yes their names were finally removed from the voting lists but some had voted in prior elections and not one of the over 1000 was prosecuted . What have they to fear ? Meanwhile we are hearing the Hispanic vote is at record levels, is it any wonder ?

The question was clear to me.
Break it down -"I consider an illegal a contributing person to society" therefore when reading between the lines she clearly advocates they should vote. Read into that her intent is to instruct them (illegals) to vote but they are concerned when she does so that they will be exposed as being illegal and face deportation for voting.

Now the question was answered by typical crooked attorney wording. Be careful with the wording and don't specifically imply doing anything illegal.

Shame full on both parts one for asking the question in such a deceptive manner and shame on him for not refusing to answer without clarification of exactly who was concerned about voting.

My assumption was she was coached on how to ask the question before hand because she clearly cant come out and ask "If an illegal violates voting laws and casts a ballot will they be able to trace them back and deport them?"
