Obama rips Trump, GOP in fiery speeches for Midwest Dems

Here's the other thing I think Obama could look up....This is the first "former President" I can remember in my lifetime, that has gone out to hit the campaign trail for his party's candidates in the first midterm after his presidency....It takes a lot of gaul, for him to stand up there and openly call a sitting President a "liar", while he lies about taking credit for the economic turn around that started taking shape AFTER he was President....But, I know, he's a uniter right?

 

Just out of curiosity - do you believe the statistics and fact checking on Trump's lies?

 

Trump doesn't lie. He uses alternative facts.

 

It is a sincere question. We see the Trump 'lie-o-meter' on a regular basis...but I'm wondering if his supporters believe that he lies, or if they don't care. I'm not trying to bait anyone...just sincerely curious.

They don't care. Just like how they called the unemployment rate fake for most of Obama's term, yet magically started to believe it in January of 2017. You can't expect a right winger to be consistent.

Depends on who is doing the fact checking.

The vast majority of it is pure subjective BS done by highly biased Progressive affiliated operations.

Take for example, the left's PolitiFact.

PF is owned and operated by the Tampa Bay Times, which itself is published by the far left Poynter Institute.

The Poynter Institute is closely affiliated with the Knight Foundation, Open Society Foundation, and many other alt-left Progressive outfits.

The subjective bias of PolitiFact has been documented over and over, with their infamous "Pant on Fire" gauge more fitting to their operation than the facts they claim to check.

 

He's trying to unite the country by removing the problem.... I know that logic defeats you, but that's what happens when people like Trump and McConnell and Jordan and Gaetz etc etc etc are elected..

I don't know if Barack out there will do more good or harm, but I like seeing him out there....

That the current President is a record-level liar is not in dispute... would be disingenuous for Obama not to point it out...

The "fact checkers" are not reliable, but Trump like all Presidents errs frequently.

A few weeks ago this forum was challenged to find a single example of an Trump lie.
Errors were found but not one example of an outright lie. I suspect you remember.

The former Race Agitator-in-Chief is finally trying to unite the nation? Why didn't he try that during his eight years in office as the NECESSITY for the world's first ever Beer Summit comes to mind as well as "If I had a son he would look like," and "Hands up don't shoot" while KNOWING that a thug attempted to murder a police officer and endorsing "Pigs in a Blanket" BLM, and so forth and so on?

Well at least finally TRYING to unite this nation would be something new for Obama to do; although he seems to have no talent for it.

Trump, our shake 'em all up President, is the first President to invite such constructive campaign criticism from a former President. But Obama is not the first former President to accommodate such a request. Carter (of all previous Presidents) called on Clinton to resign, for example.

 

Of course, a President who missed an historic opportunity to unite the country, ended up using the only talent he could bring to the game, that being division and racial animosity, and left office with a country thrown backwards by 50 years.

The fact people cling to the bogus "record-level liar" meme simply points to the smoldering ruins Obama left in his wake, and the propaganda ministry that remains.

Add in that complicity of the liberal media who carried Obama's water, despite the documented lies and deceit, and we have a nation divided, brought to you by the Divider in Chief, Barrack Obama, and the corrupt and contemptable media apparatus that championed his every move.

This is probably true... By 1990, NOBODY wanted Reagan on the campaign trail.... Clinton and Bush Jr basically left office under huge clouds, so Obama is the first recent ex-President people sorta want out campaigning for D House and Senate seats... Nothing wrong with it at all...

It's a strategy Trump would actually approve of.... Use all the weapons in your arsenal....

 

I do....he supported GHW Bush in his first run in 1988 and Reagan's last event was a speech in support of GHW Bush 2nd election in 1992 at 81 years old.

 

President Obama back on the campaign trail is a sight for sore eyes and ears, LOL. What a pleasure to listen to a politician speak in a professional and positive manner.

 

Oh please... When Obama took over, the nation was in the midst of the greatest economic downturn since the depression. Things were so bad that Bush and Obama were meeting to effect the turnover in command months before Obama's inauguration. So your statement that the economic turn around commenced after he left office is just another alternative fact. As for Trump, he has been proven to lie on a near daily basis. Unless you believe that every other new organization around the world is lying and that Fox is the only news outlet you can trust. I got news for you too - what you're seeing on Fox, that's called propaganda.

 

So by "liberal media" you mean the 95% of the world's media outlets who don't report the same things as Fox? Please...

 

I think they realize at least to some extent that Trump stretches the Truth and makes things up on the fly and sometime outright lies.

Most will just justify this on the basis - "the other side is worse" or some other deflection/apology "all politicians lie".
