Well, it seems rather irrelevant, in my opinion, but it does brand this guy as some sort of honorable person, he apparently is unable to keep himself from "accidentally" crossing a border.

Its quite clear you have never been at the border to make such an uninformed statement. Thanks to your hero Obama the fence was halted and he was in an area where the roads are wide open, it was the middle of the night and there are no street lights. Perhaps you could research a bit on the area he was in before commenting.

Well, I am not sure how anyone could arrive at that ridiculous conclusion.

Yeah, other than to attempt to besmirch my name, not sure how that conclusion was arrived at either.

That being said, wasn't this idiot arrested at the Mexico side of the Tijuana border? Not exactly in the middle of nowhere with no fences.

Hmmm. I am going to have to say that none of this has anything to do with the argument at hand.

    Signs. Traffic.

Yeah, not exactly the the wilds of the remote Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.

How can anyone be so profoundly stupid to "accidentally" cross that border?

    Jesus.

Amazing. Amazing that someone could be so incredibly ignorant (or so he claims) of his surroundings.

You hateful people are truly sad. Your clinging to "political party" has made you completely insane and borderline psychotic. The transparency of your simple mindedness is staggering to behold and I wonder how on earth you land on your feet each day when rolling out of bed in the morning (if you do roll out of bed in the morning).

This Marine was acting as a Civilian when he crossed the boarder of another sovereign country with weapons. Yet, you compound ranch extremists can't seem to think things through well enough to realize that this is not the same as a U.S. Solider being captured as a POW in a time of war on foreign soil. The fact that anybody would attempt to equate the two is proof positive that they are either not playing with a full deck, or they are attempting to politicize anything and everything that happens in the world by placing it on the doorstep of the man they lost two (2) Presidential elections to, back-to-back.

You LOST in 2008. You LOST in 2012. Time to get over it. You will lose yet again in 2016, if you keep putting clueless representatives such as Sarah Palin, front and center to speak for you.

I don't care whether anyone considers themselves Liberal, Conservative or otherwise, this constant drone of idiotic claims made against the President, when his performance to date under the circumstance he was given before entering office has been nothing short of stellar, is very telling about those who hate him because he is Black.

Come out of the damn closet. Racism is a Mental Disease and it should be treated as such. Nobody with half a brain can look at what this President has done and conclude that he has failed, or that he's somehow been incompetent, or that he's somehow made the country less safe, or that he's set the country back a billion years. You act like you don't even remember the name George W. Bush, or the catastrophic nightmare of a hornets nest he left behind for the next President to clean up for him.

Wake up and come to your senses - if you have any sense at all.

    Geepers. This is nuts!

If you want to point the finger of blame for many of the problems the United States faces right now, you can blame it on stuff like this:

We've been doing this en mass for more than 30 years. Those chickens have come home to roost. We now don't have the individual private household income to pull us out of recessions with speed and momentum, so we languish in GDP growth until the most ridiculous thing happens, our Current Account goes even MORE negative! We've become a nation living on borrowed money from foreign countries - so much so, that we actually have serious minded economists telling us that it is "a good thing that our Current Account grows."

Insane. Completely and utterly insane. That growing our Current Account instead of shrinking it, is actually considered a "good thing" for the future growth of U.S. GDP.

This ALL began with deregulation and that took place under none other than Ronald "Now Deified" Reagan and continued by Bill Clinton. At least under Clinton, while the Current Account was increasing like an Ariane V Rocket into HEO, we were experiencing GDP growth simultaneously, which helped to produce a long economic boom cycle. But, we are back to bust cycle now, all because we have failed to take care of establishing our Middle Income Base by outsourcing everything we could get our hands on, just to make Wall Street happy.

You need to start getting REAL about what's truly causing our problems and stop this ridiculous, idiotic, pedantic infighting that does nothing but cause these politicians to LAUGH at you behind closed doors for constantly being at each others throats.

I am so sick and tired of the BS going on in my country that I can hardly stand it anymore.

Damn, people. Get it together already and start solving the REAL problem.

Pretending the border is clearly marked was the first clue.

The first clue was he didn't go through a checkpoint.

Since you apparently forgot he crossed over without going through a checkpoint its clear more research is needed.

    - - - Updated - - -

Really. So how did he get through the checkpoint without knowing he had entered Mexico?

You realize they do have checkpoints at some border crossings right?

And how did those Mexican police get across without going through a checkpoint by mistake if the border is so clearly marked TFM? Can you explain yourself?

    - - - Updated - - -

I noticed you are looking in the middle of the day with no checkpoint yes.

If it is so well lit s how does the Mexican police make the same mistake?

It wasn't expected you would understand why we think getting a wrongfully imprisoned Marine out of jail is important.

For most liberals its just another baby killer.

it is important, but it's not worth being stupid over

making demands will most likely lead to anger and entrenchment

i suspect all the hoopla from the gop, fox news, bikers and cheap seats have already ruffled some feathers

at least 24 members of Congress have called on the State Department to work with Mexican authorities to free Tahmooressi. Last month, Secretary of State John Kerry brought up Tahmooressi's plight in talks with Mexican officials, and the case is being monitored by the U.S. Consulate in Mexico.

Still, that hasn’t stopped the partisan noise machine from trying to use this unfortunate young man’s plight as a cudgel against the president.

On Monday, in an open letter to Obama, Veteran of Foreign Wars Commander-in-Chief William Thien wrote that the charges against Tahmooressi "appear to be a desperate attempt by a failing nation-state to project strength against the United States." You don't insult an ally, especially when you are asking it for a favor.

This situation requires diplomacy, and diplomacy requires restraint. No country wants to be told how to administer justice, or bullied into ignoring its own laws.

Those who try to link this hapless Marine’s situation to the release of Bergdahl are not doing Tahmooressi any favors. He's been incarcerated for just over two months. They should stop comparing him to a soldier who spent five years in captivity.

The louder they yell, the more they imply that Mexican laws are expendable (or should be overlooked just this once), the longer it’s going to take to get Tahmooressi home.

it sounds like you didn't watch the video

plus, you said, "there are no street lights"

the signs are lit, they have blinking lights on them too and there are huge poles with high-intensity lights

probably talking on their cell phones

Good lord, are we talking about the same topic? Not marked? Where on earth is this being pulled from?

The guy crossed at San Ysidro, the worlds busiest land border crossing. Are you saying it is not marked, even after being shown pictures indicating it is marked? With big signs? Giant signs that you can see? Signs indicating that he is crossing an international border?

How did he cross not going through a checkpoint? I am sorry, your argument is simply fabricating nonsense at this point. The guy crossed over a clearly marked border. Either he is (*)(*)(*)(*)ing illiterate, or he is simply lying about it being an accident.

    - - - Updated - - -

    Wrongfully imprisoned?

It is suddenly legal for foreigners to be in possession of guns in Mexico? The guy admitted in his pathetic 9-11 tape that he was in possession of guns in Mexico. Mexican law forbids this. What is wrongful about his being held for trial?

Personal responsibility doesn't include an 'oops' clause. You can beg for it but you cannot demand it. The Marine is on the hook for his actions.

Obama would do it if he were gay. Start sucking.

It's easier than you think to accidentally get stuck in the lane that feeds directly to the border crossing. Yes, there are big ass signs everywhere saying that Mexico is right ahead, but it is a very busy border crossing with many lanes. I've done it myself, you get in a lane and there is no turn around available, you're stuck in a one way street, far ahead of the actual crossing point. If anyone has ever been down there you'll know what I'm talking about.

That being said, if I had a weapon on me one of those times I got stuck in that lane, I would have just stopped in the lane of traffic instead of crossing. I'd rather get a traffic ticket in the US than cross into a corrupt country with weapons.

But seriously, if Mexico weren't so damn corrupt, this guy would have been freed a while ago with a slap on the wrist.
