It's telling to just how subconsciously partisan most people who predicted a 320 win for either candidate.

Really a shame that Gary Johnson doesn't look to be getting his 5% :(

    Hopefully Colorado's proposition 46 passes :)

    "Subconsciously partisan"?

    Not a shame - a travesty.

    What's that pressing for?

Netanyahu celebrated by ordering another 1200 illegal units on occupied land.

Surely this constant sticking the finger in Obamas eye has to result in something.....................................

How much more can he take of the humiliation? :omg:

I thought this was going to happen. Americans decided that they could vote for the government to use force to take the property of other Americans and give it to them. The Democrats turned out to keep getting thier goodies and Obamaphones.

Obama isn't going to spend any of his political capital in the quagmire of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. He'll give it lip service and ignore the subject. Obama intends to transform America, not help the Palestinians.

It's a shame that in the US there is so much money involved in political campaigns that Americans feel they have to settle for the lesser of the two evils instead of voting for a candidate that actually matches them on the issues the best.
Aren't you the one that advocated ethnic cleansing against them in another thread? LOL you're one to talk.

The assumption is that he regards it as a humiliation. But there is no historical precedent on which to base that assumption. Obama hasn't the guts to stand up to the perceived puppet masters who are allegedly pulling his strings because one can only surmise it's because he thinks life is easier for him that way.

No gain without pain, right? But Obama doesn't want the pain but expects all the plaudits. But life ain't like that in the real world. Sometimes you just have to do and say what's required and, more importantly, to do what's right, if only to maintain a level of self-respect and dignity.

To actually publicly and explicitly stand up against tyranny takes courage and Obama has demonstrated that he has none. Obama only feels humliated on the superficial 'public image' level because he knows the world is watching and he knows the world favours the Palestinian position. It's his vanity that's being humiliated Abu.

He's not opposed in principle to Bibi, he's just opposed to the perception Bibi gives to the rest of the world and the fact that he is effectively party to it.

Does anyone seriously believe that Obama has the strength of character to get tough with Israel in any objective and tangible way? This is despite the backdrop in which Bibi has in the past boasted that he controls the US and has in more general terms publicly humiliated the American people (see below for details).

The American people, and the people in the world more generally, need to be insisting that Obama begins asking some serious questions on their behalf about Israel and US relations with it.

He could start with this set of questions:

Question: Which country alone in the Middle East has nuclear weapons?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and bars international inspections? ?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East seized the sovereign territory of other nations by military force and continues to occupy it in defiance of United Nations Security Council resolutions?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East routinely violates the international borders of another sovereign state with warplanes and artillery and naval gunfire?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What American ally in the Middle East has for years sent assassins into other countries to kill its political enemies (a practice sometimes called exporting terrorism)?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: In which country in the Middle East have high-ranking military officers admitted publicly that unarmed prisoners of war were executed?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country in the Middle East refuses to prosecute its soldiers who have acknowledged executing prisoners of war?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country in the Middle East created millions of refugees and refuses to allow them to return to their homes, farms and businesses?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country in the Middle East refuses to pay compensation to people whose land, bank accounts and businesses it confiscated?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: In what country in the Middle East was a high-ranking United Nations diplomat assassinated?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: In what country in the Middle East did the man who ordered the assassination of a high-ranking U.N. diplomat become prime minister?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country in the Middle East blew up an American diplomatic facility in Egypt and attacked a U.S. ship, the USS Liberty, in international waters, killing 34 and wounding 171 American sailors?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country in the Middle East employed a spy, Jonathan Pollard, to steal classified documents from USA and then gave some of them to the Soviet Union ?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country at first denied any official connection to Pollard, then voted to make him a citizen and has continuously demanded that the American president grant Pollard a full pardon?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What Middle East country allows American Jewish murderers to flee to its country to escape punishment in the United States and refuses to extradite them once in their custody?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What Middle East country preaches against hate yet builds a shrine and a memorial for a murderer who killed 29 Palestinians while they prayed in their Mosque.?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: What country on Planet Earth has the second most powerful lobby in the United States , according to a recent Fortune magazine survey of Washington insiders?
    Answer: Israel .

    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East is in defiance of 69 United Nations Security Council resolutions and has been protected from 29 more by U.S. vetoes?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East receives more than one-third of all U.S. aid to the world yet is the 16th richest country in the world?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East receives U.S. weapons for free and then sells the technology to the Republic of China even at the objections of the U.S. ?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East routinely insults the American people by having its Prime Minister address the United States Congress and lecturing them like children on why they have no right to reduce foreign aid?
    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East had its Prime Minister announce to his staff not to worry about what the United States says because "We control America ?"

    Answer: Israel .

    Answer: Israel .

Question: Which country in the Middle East regularly violates the Geneva Convention by imposing collective punishment on entire towns, villages, and camps, for the acts of a few, and even goes as far as demolishing entire villages while people are still in their homes?
    Answer: Israel .

Israel is the US client. This is not even controversial. It doesn't stop Bibi boasting though does it. The client is getting too big for it's boots. If it isn't the client, then how would YOU explain the fact that Israel receives the highest amount of US aid per head of population than any other country on the planet?

I didnt say yes or no, but if you say it is then how can a client dictate tp its owner as you suggested,

Bibi or any other PM can say what he pleases, if it suits the US cool, if not they dont have to agree and even object, just like Obama did, all is well.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the relationship between the US and Israel is a mutually beneficial one, at least as things stand. But Israel is pushing it's luck. Bibi, despite what he claims to the contrary, doesn't dictate rather he has come to expect. And those expectation levels and demands have become higher and higher over the passing of time.

It's best to think of Israel as akin to a pet of the US who is fed by its owner but gets greedy and doesn't know when it's had enough food and hence refuses to shut up and just be grateful that it's owner looks after it. Remember Israel is a mafia-style state and thus is arrogant and this arrogance leads to complacency. This arrogance on the part of Israel, explains why elements within the US establishment are increasingly becoming pissed off with Israel leading many to question whether their tinpot settler state is worth all the bother.

Many within the US establishment have long ago undertaken a cost-benefit analysis on that basis. This prompted General Patraeus, for example, to publicly intimate that "Israel", in his words, "is fast becoming a strategic liability for the United States". He is not alone.

Bibi would be wise to not get too big for his boots or he just might discover that biting the hand that feeds him, will have unforseen repercussions for the Zionist state. Unintended consequences and all that. Do you get my drift?

I happen to agree. imagine that.

And that is because Obama isn't going to be pushed around. He isn't going to accept stupid explanations for what is clearly land theft. He isn't going to fight BiBis wars for him.

I think that BiBi has a pretty clear picture now. He pushed it to the limit and Obama publically rebuked him with he refusal to meet when bibi came to new york.

What a pair - Bibi and lieberman. two crooks, one government.

I agree that Obama isn't going to be pushed around. NOBODY pushes the world's superpower around, irrespective of who is at the helm, least of all a muppet like Bibi who governs a country the size of Wales with a population half the size of London. That's why I disagree with those who claim Israel controls the US. Such a notion is obviously absurd.

If Bibi continues to act like a spoilt child in the playground and attempts to push his luck then Obama will have no qualms in giving him a metaphorical slap. But here's the thing. Why do you think that despite all of Bibi's abuse, Obama has been reluctant to thus far put the jumped up squirt firmly in his place?

It's because Obama is well aware that he needs Israel and Bibi knows he knows it too. But there are limits. The question is where are those limits drawn?

It seems to me, that at some point something has to give. Either Obama will say, enough is enough and Israel will be regarded as something that is more trouble that it's worth (which is where Patraeus is coming from), or Bibi will realize that he has to be more accommodating.

The latter seems to me to be unlikely because I believe Israel to be the equivalent of a wild dog straining on its leash, unable to listen to reason and logic. It is one of the hallmarks of a state that is characteristic of a fascist state.

Israel is literally on the verge of being out of control. If it were not for the US, who is doing its utmost to rein its excesses in, it would, if unilaterally left to it's own devices, almost certainly have attacked Iran by now.

I personally doubt very much that Obama will give Bibi the green light he desires. The question is, will he be the first Israeli leader in history to openly disobey his imperial master?

I agree with you Gilos. It's true that nobody does hold a gun to Obama's head. It takes two to tango, so to speak. That's why all the crimes committed by Israel are defacto American crimes also. In fact it could be argued that those who supply the weapons to murder are more than complicit in crimes that would otherwise be impossible to commit.

By that tenuous logic, the crimes committed by the Palestinians using Iranian-supplied arms would justify an Israeli attack on Iran.

See what I did there, trout?
