Being 7%, on average in most polls from July to September is not pulling high by any standard.

When Carson says that this country is a Christian nation and therefore only Christians should be able to live here is attacking non Christians. It also shows how he does not understand the Constitution as it is written.

How many lies are you going to keep pulling out your backside? Name me a time where he said only Christians are allowed?

Also what averages are you using? All the olls used for all the debates and all the high ratings had him polling high pretty much most of the time since this all got started.

Carson also did not, and this is very clear, say that Muslims COULD NOT run, thus the Constituion is irrelevant to the discussion. people like you are making up so much garbage it's nauseating.

Its doubtful that any of the current front runners are getting the nomination.

Depends on what you mean by Front Runner.

The top 5 are Ben Carson, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, and Jeb Bush with the only "cemented debate" poll numbers, and this also translates to other polls.

That's pretty much the complete list of the only candidates that have a shot of getting the nomination. Cruz and Kasich aren't getting it, Hukabee and Christie are on the verge, Rand paul is freefalling, and everyone after that are 100% guarantee done whether you like it or not since the RNC will crush them to narrow the field.

The GOP establishment isn't powerful enough to push Jeb Bush into the nominee position, without knocking out Donald Trump, the front runner. That risks a third party run which would elect Hillary Clinton. Also, pushing Trump aside, leaves Marco Rubio, currently the secnd or third place choice still in the race. Mr. Rubio isn't settling on a VP position while he still garner's support for the top job, although Trump, if he takes that nomination, and so far nobody is able to stop him, just might select Rubio for the post. In any GOP administration, Ben Carson would make a good cabinet member. I wouldn't give him HEW - but the Veterans Administration to straighten out. Perfect place for him. He can hang around for awhile, but one thing you can be absolutely sure of, the Republican Party isn't going to run a Black man for the position of President of the United States after the Obama fiasco of 8-years. Even those low educated voters who support Hillary Clinton wouldn't come out and vote for Carson, like they did for Obama. The only way the GOP gets a race based ticket is if they can somehow convince Condalezzi Rice to step into the VP spot. That is a sure winner for the GOP, her record of Secretary of State throughout a war, compared to Hillary Clinton's - proxy successor, and former failed Democratic nominee, John Kerry's actions in dismantling American foreign policy under and through the direction of President Obama, is atrocious. Ms. Rice, if she wants to give up Stanford, is a sure fire winner in saving the GOP election - and their candidate in 2020 or 2024 in a walk. She could have had it in 2012 if she wanted it..........

    What lies?

The polls that I am using are national polls such as the CNN, Fox News, Public Policy Polls, etc. On average, his poll numbers were about 7 percent from July to September. He was higher before Trump entered the GOP race. Ever since then, Trump has generally led most national polls. That is how I know and you are still citing only one poll out of several dozen. You are ignoring all the other polls or the history of those polls. That is not my fault, that is yours.

Carson said that he does not think a Muslim should be President. When questioned about this, he further explained that the only way a Muslim should be elected is if the Muslim disavows everything that is Muslim. That is his words, not mine. The interpretation of that statement means that in order for a Muslim to be President, they cannot be Muslim at all. And that shows how little Ben Carson knows or understands about the Constitution. A Muslim can be President and will still have the separation of powers in place. There is no way any person can impose their religious beliefs onto others, which is what Carson is arguing that Muslims can and will do if elected President.

Look, it has been obvious that you support Carson, but it is also obvious you are treating Carson more like a demagogue than a candidate.

Politics is a funny thing where experience seems to make one worse at the job. Surgery is a more normal skill that takes practice.

I know you aren't talking to me, but to help you out, I have bolded the lie you told in the above post. You should stop spreading ridiculous lies that only indicate your own inability to comprehend rather simple concepts.

That is not a lie. Carson does not understand the Constitution at all. Neither does Huckabee. Both are taking anti federalist stances with their positions on who should be or should not be entitled protections under the said Constitution.

In another example with a Newsmax interview, Carson stated that the President does not have to follow the Supreme Court. He obviously does not understand both Article 3 and Article 6 of the Constitution. The ironic thing is that he is taking away the conservative ammo that suggest that the President does not follow the law, including Supreme Court cases that favor the conservative mantra. That is absolutely ironic and dangerous at the same time.

I would admit there is some "muscle memory" associated with surgery, but I believe it's minimal. Education (a lot of it) and experience would seem to be more important qualifications, and that would also be true in politics.

That's fine if you believe that. Personally, I think politics is the most pointless subject to be educated about. Getting the ignorant masses to vote for you is the skill that gets the job. And then the job has nothing to do with that skill.

Interpreting the Constitution differently is not failure to understand. Judicial review is not in the Constitution. Perhaps you are the one who does not understand the issue. Mudslinging Carson does nothing to correct the mudslinging you mentioned against Obama. You and the right wingers who do that are both wrong.

It is when you fail to understand certain key concepts. What Dr Carson was arguing is to ignore the Supreme Court if it disagreed with your political ideology. Not even the Founding Fathers would argue that, save one. And he was an atheist, a radical amongst radicals and shunned by John Adams, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, etc.

Most people, both Republican and Democrat, will simply vote based on the letter behind the name. They will not care about this issue or that issue unless it personally affects them.

When I did voter registration when I was in college a long, long, long time ago, I would always encourage them to get involved with the local politics first since most of their issues will directly affect them more often than Congress does.

Many people have questioned the Supreme Court's authority to award itself the vast power of judicial review. Questioning that authority does not demonstrate a failure to understand the constitution, in which there is no mention of judicial review. Is this really so complicated? Someone is not stupid because he holds a different opinion from yours.

Then they are not reading, or more likely, ignoring the Constitution. If you look at Article 3, the Constitution provides the authority that the Supreme Court uses its appellate power to decide cases. Appellate power is defined as the method to review cases when it is petitioned under the court. During the entire Supreme Court History of the United States, the Supreme Court has not once claimed a case without first being petitioned AND decided for review. Article 6 provides the Supremacy clause, both with the laws passed under Article 1 and 2 as well as the Appellate power of the Supreme Court. Most who have questioned the authority have always lost.

You can have whatever opinion you want on the issue. I agree with judicial review and think the Supreme Court has done a lot of good with it. But the founders obviously would have stated such an immense power explicitly, if it was intended. It is debateable. Someone is not stupid because he disagrees with us on this.

The Founding Fathers would not want to have a 94% re-election rate of the representatives or the senators, nor will the Founding Fathers want anyone disparaging any group who happen to be US citizens. There are a lot of things that the Founding Fathers would find amuzing, be flabergasted with our insane political system, and definitely want more choices for political parties. But the problem is that no matter what the Supreme Court said, the Founding Fathers would and have agreed with that decision and not argue that the Supreme Court is irrelavant or should be ignored. On the contrary, what they would argue is that the local communities, all the people in those communities to come together and work together much like Alexander de' Toqueville argued with his book.

I was referring to the top 3. I agree that Rubio and Bush are possibilities. Both are getting close to double digits. Fiorina has dropped below double digits in some polls.

I really can't see Carson or Trump winning in the end.

What is sad commentary is that Paul and Kasich are doing so poorly. Shows the lack of reasonableness in today's GOP.

Carson is the "See we aren't racists" candidate that the racists will toss to the roadside when the time comes.

Well to be honest Ksaich I feel is in the wrong party.

    - - - Updated - - -

You seem be be dodging his answers, but I'm mostly just concerned you are with the media in spinning what Carson actually said because he didin't half of what you're accusing him. This is one of the primary reasons why he got more popular after he made his statements.

To be honest ... there are few real "Conservatives" in the GOP so perhaps you are right.

A few words from the "Godfather" of Conservatism (Goldwater) are appropriate here:

Excellent point. I worked voter registration a long-long time ago also; Robert F. Kennedy's Presidential campaign in 1968, and although specifically working for his candidacy, encouraged newly registered voter's to become involved locally with town councils; city councils; school boards, PTA, etc. Those agencies effect them much more than Presidential politics do, and you would be amazed at the level of corruption that exists in The Lion's Club and The Elks, in small towns across the USA. They have political pull - so does the American Legion and the VFW.......

In addition, "The National Enquirer" based in Lantana, Florida, hires about 300-400 cub reporter's right out of college journalism school's every year, and sets their idealistic young brains loose on the country to report on just about anything they want to, usually local corruption topics. They have had an amazing record of uncovering corruption, and also predicting political success over the years, despite the two headed cow stories that appear in their headlines.

That supermarket rag newspaper predicted the Gore-Bush Florida campaign fight, the back door deals, and the fact that in the end, George W. Bush, Jr., although actually losing the State of Florida in 2000, would end up being declared the winner, after his brother, Governor Jeb Bush of Florida, pulled out all the stops of the Republican Party for him, and he would win by approximately 1,000 votes and the Presidency. They were pulling up so many dead hanging "Chad's" and counting the votes, that the Democrat's couldn't even register em. This despite the fact the major news organizations had given the state, correctly, to Al Gore, across the board. George W. Bush, Jr. was awarded the Florida win by the Supreme Court, by 875 votes.

Amazingly, the two headed cow gets it right a lot of the time, where CBS; NBC; ABC; CNN; Fox; etc. fail. Don't dismiss polls, "The National Enquirer" or "Rolling Stone Magazine" the home of the late gonzo political journalist Hunter S. Thompson, who smoked pot on Air Force one with his friend, knowing the Nixon palace guard wouldn't even know what the stuff was. Lots of voices out there - lots of ladies grab "The Enquirer" and lots of millinials grab "Rolling Stone." Never underestimate other, non-traditional voices in politics, even Sarah Palin still has pull with the GOP Conservatives. "Deep Throat" of Watergate fame, turned out to be the Assistant Director of the Administration Division of the FBI, the most powerful AD Position in the Bureau because it controlled assignments and transfers, Of all agencies of the government, one would never expect the FBI to be on the leading edge of trying to knock a Richard Nixon from office. ...........:oldman:
