This is going to make many Trump supporters very unhappy. But the economy grew 4.9% in the third quarter. Fueled by a strong job market, bigger pay packets, and strong consumer spending.
    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-67229919

After the Fed increased interest rates and after ALL Republicans did in Congress to tank the economy, shut down the government, bring Congress to a standstill... all this effort for naught. The Biden economy still thrived despite all the hard work invested in trying to tank it....

Sorry... better luck next time! Maybe they can try shutting down the government again in a couple of weeks. Or how about defunding any program that doesn't benefit the rich. Maybe defunding the police, like they wanted to do to save Trump ... That might work....

I'm sure they'll probably come up with something to try to drag the country down... Because people should NEVER be allowed to be happy, right? That's out of the question!

But what about Hunter pp pictures?!?

I cannot wait to see all the patriots rushing in to cheer this news.

The previous removed administration has to manipulate the markets to achieve half as good GDP numbers.

Oh oh! Bad news for The Party of Trump: the country is doing well...

The party of Trump doesn't want the country to do well? That is a strange position.

So, let's see if we can unpack this a little....

A shooting war in the ME...
A shooting war in E Europe.....
A shooting war between Saudi and Yemen...

A cliff of consumer debt, full time jobs hit a wall...Markets liquidating....

I suppose if you're shuffling along the "beach" in DE, these are the best of times. Congrats to Golem for capturing the "mood" of the nation so superficially....

I think so too. And yet... here we are. With one Party intent on shutting down the government, leaving us weeks without a Speaker, demanding cuts to programs that don't benefit the rich, ....

It's the whole party that's strange. Not just this position.

Economically, yeah, we are doing pretty well. And there's no reason to believe we'd be doing better under Trump.

    Better tell that to voters.

Only 35% of voters in seven swing states trust Biden on the economy, according to a Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll, with 51% saying it was better under Donald Trump.

Why would I resort to argumentum ad populum to decide? Do you always poll people to figure out what you should believe?

It's the only data we can go on at this point. Trust me, I'm aware that this doesn't translate into votes for a candidate in 2024. I've seen a ton of republicans getting excited at progressives claiming they won't vote for Biden in 2024 because of his stance with Israel. I'm well aware this doesn't translate into them voting for trump (LOL). But when discussing elections and how this impacts the Trumpster, polls unfortunately are the best data we can evaluate with.

No. It isn't. We could use ACTUAL economic metrics.

None of what you just said is relevant to what I said. It isn't a real response. I'm talking about how the country is actually doing economically.

Doesn't matter. No one agrees with you guys. Some of you guys on this forum feed hyper partisan nonsense to each other and it spirals into the most extreme partisan material one can find on the internet.

The average American realizes something is up with Hunter, Joe, and his brother. You guys? "Joe was telling weather reports."

The average American feels the state of the economy everytime they go buy groceries. You guys? "Oh look, they added a bunch of $10 dollar an hour jobs , economy is doing great!"

The average American sees the extreme anti Israel "protest" as a threat to jews here. You guys? "Biggest threat is white supremacy!!!"

The average American sees the violence in the cities and how it continues to spread. You guys? "Oh its just some teenagers doing teenager things! WHITE SUPREMACY!"

The average American sees Biden as old and incompetent. You guys? "TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP"

Sorry, but the extreme progressives here have spiraled into absolute ultra extremism not in touch with the average american today.

Then your position is that consensus determines reality. I don't share the world view that you are evangelizing: that the majority is always right and there are no actual facts apart from that.

You not liking good news does not make it untrue. The facts don't care about your feelings.

And all it took was additing another 1.7 trillion dollars to the debt.

I find it hard to accept this as credible given the number of times you've cited consensus polling, etc. Worse, there is literally no distance between your commentary and the average talkingpointsmemo.com talking points. It's like you're entirely unable to proclaim a unique or self driven position without checking with your oracle....

I agree...dumbass thing to assume by the OP. And just as dumb as when the Right made the same dumbass claim about the Left when the economy does well under a Repub president. Both sides play this silly game.

imagine how much better it would be doing if the Republican run FED was not raising interest rates to harm the economy

Is that what it cost for the government to pull out people from poverty, give more work, and provide better living standards? Sounds like a good deal! Especially considering the fact that Trump added 5 times that with absolutely NOTHING to show for it.

That's what threads and articles like this are trying to do.
Only because 100% of tRumpublicans keep yammering about how badly the country is doing, which is a lie. But, so far they've been successful with it.

As the economy continues to do well, better than any other developed nation - post pandemic, and tRaitor tRump's trials emphasise what a clear and present danger he is to our nation, I believe there will be a dramatic change in the polls.

I'm not sure if the polls will change much, but also not sure it will truly impact the voting come next November. I think Republicans are getting a bit over excited at the prospect of many progressives and some independents saying they won't vote for Biden because of the Israel/Palestine stance. But when you really think about it, their is 0% chance they switch that vote to Trump. I think they will come out and begrudgingly vote for Biden still as a "lesser of two evils". Will it hurt voter enthusiasm overall? Yes, but not enough to swing the election in trump's favor (imo).
