Well, it's certainly no defense of Biden's incompetent Treasury Dept. (which, under Janet Yellen is just an extension of the Federal Reserve central bank), but Trump bears blame for having created headwinds that made harder for the necessary interest rate increases to continue after December 2018.

After having fanned the flames of every stock market gambler's passion, mostly on the basis of the expectation of near-zero interest rates FOREVER, Trump raised hell with the Fed in January 2019, after another one of the Fed's timid little piss-ant .25/point rate increases, that what we needed was NEGATIVE interest rates! That was the very thing that had distorted and perverted European economies! And Trump wanted us to have that, too! STOOPID!

Trump did a number of good things, but his influence in handling several things of pivotal importance to the economy was not (NOT) among them!

You seem to make so much of the fact that "Republicans are not happy". Is that supposed to be some kind of news bulletin? Truth? Republicans, and, fewer and fewer Independents plus unaffiliated voters are "happy", and have NOT been happy since shortly after Biden and his 'woke' brigade took over!

More truth? NO, it's not all Biden's fault! The whole economic mess actually started way back with Idiot "W" Bush, and it sped off toward total economic dysfunction and central bank manipulation and interference in August 2007. Moreover, the national debt-versus-GDP ratio after Donald Trump had been in office one full year (2018 ) had almost reached 100% -- a debt catastrophe was now in the making. As any competent economist will tell you, national debt versus GDP greater than 77% is "a highway to hell"!

Obama? He was little more than a 'sock-puppet' for the Fed... whatever Bernanke and Yellen wanted to do was just fine with him. Trump? He fought the Fed's own tardy, timid efforts to try to restore some balance in the economy with microscopic interest rates by railing and ranting that what we needed was NEGATIVE interest rates -- which were already in the process of making a disruptive economic situation even worse in Europe! Both Republicans and Democrats are to blame... I'm glad I'm not in either category. But there's scant reason for anyone in the DemocratIC 'woke' carnival to proclaim that "happy days are here again".... :roflol:

It is worse than that. The FED fails to understand that much of the rise in prices is actually a reduction in the value of the dollar. They themselves monetized nearly a trillion in debt last year. While there is a lot of pent up demand releasing from the covid years that is something that is self correcting. There is no correcting printing money to pay down debt. The interest rate nonsense has changed nothing other than the cost of borrowing.

Inflation is a much, much bigger consideration for most people. Not sure what world you live in but in this world the biggest issues most Americans list are
    1) the economy (it sucks)
    2) inflation
    3) lack of border security.

    The economy does not suck
Wages are keeping up with and surpassing inflation.
Border security has always been a problem.

People aren’t happy. Most Americans disapprove of the job Biden has done as seen below. This has enabled Trump to be in a basic tie with Biden for the presidency.

Overall job approval 40.7%, disapproval 56.0%

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-7320.html

    Economy 37.7% approve, 59.7% disapprove

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_biden_job_approval_economy-7321.html

    Inflation 33.2% approve, 63.8% disapprove

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_biden_approval_inflation-7832.html

    Immigration 33.0% approve, 64.4% disapprove

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president-biden-job-approval-immigration-7359.html

Foreign Policy 38.2% approve, 56.6% disapprove

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_biden_job_approval_foreign_policy-7322.html

    Crime 36.0% approve, 58.3% disapprove

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_biden_approval_crime-7833.html

Direction of the country 24.2% right track, 66.0% wrong track

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/direction_of_country-902.html

The latest on the presidency. Trump 44.8%, Biden 44.1%

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2024/president/us/general-election-trump-vs-biden-7383.html

Which begs the question, if the country is doing so well why is Biden seen as doing so poorly and why is a 4-time indicted candidate basically tied with Biden when considering the MOE of plus or minus 3 points? I think it’s because most Americans dislike and don’t want neither Trump nor Biden to become the next president. Fact is 57% of all Americans don’t want Biden to run again, 55% don’t want Trump to run again either. Questions 14 and 15. Most Americans want someone else.

    https://d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/econTabReport_uXN5Bmo.pdf

Biden has fallen down to Trump level in how Americans view him. Biden 41.1% favorable, 54.9% unfavorable. Trump 40.1% favorable, 56.1% unfavorable.

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/other/FavorabilityRatingsPoliticalLeaders.html

This upcoming presidential election is a rematch made in Hell for most Americans. They don’t want it. But it is one of both major parties telling most Americans to stick it where the sun don’t shine. Most Americans feelings, wishes, wants or in this case don’t want means nothing to both major parties. Talking about both major parties being completely out of touch with most Americans and most voters, you have it today.

One bunch of us thinks the economy is just swell! Another bunch of us think it sucks and is about to get "suckier".

No matter which camp you're in, pro-Biden or anti-Biden, one old adage is true: "If you keep on doing what you're doing, you'll keep on getting what you're getting!" Now, how many of you are "happy" while you are "getting what you're getting"...?

How many people were "happy" in 1978 - 1981, when inflation nearly wrecked the entire economy? Republicans blamed Jimmy Carter, and after Carter was thrown out, Democrats blamed Ronald Reagan. Truth? It took about three years of very aggressive, high interest rates to finally dismantle the main forces that fueled inflation -- far higher interest rates than anything imagined today. Hint: they finally 'plateaued' at 20%.

The lesson? Until the Fed stops farting around with piddly interest rate increases and really slams the brakes on -- HARD, it will take years more for the economy to "suck the pudge" and the bloat away which the FED ITSELF created by deliberate manipulation beginning way back in 2007, in order to save stock market gamblers....

the MSM is what it is, most Americans distrust it.
56% of Americans agree with the statement that "Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations."

58% think that "most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public."

    https://www.axios.com/2021/01/21/media-trust-crisis

You also have this - 34% have a "great deal" or "fair amount" of confidence in media

38% with no trust at all outpaces great deal/fair amount for first time

70% of Democrats, 14% of Republicans, 27% of independents trust media

The reason democrats trust the MSM much more than either Republicans and especially independents is the MSM tells them what they want to hear. The MSM has taken sides in our political battles, they're a big failure in reporting the news in a fair, accurate and full manner.

the reason Republicans do not trust the media, is they know most of the media they watch only tell them what they want to hear, and they think the other media is doing the same

which in my opinion it is. The polls I cited were all Americans, not just republicans. I have a habit of throwing out Democrats and Republicans going with only what independents think. They’re the non-affiliated, the less to non-partisan folks who don’t have any skin in the political game. With only 27% of independents having a Great deal/Fair amount of trust and confidence in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately and fairly says it all. They’re your non-partial, neutral observers so to speak.

Lame no one who has to buy groceries or gas or pay their rent gives a damn what your inflated GDP numbers are. The only people making any money in this economy are the Democrats corporate allies.

GOOGLE it, wages are out pacing inflation.

Yes, illegal workers have been a problem in the U.S. a long time before I was born in 51. We hate having them here but have NEVER been able to manage without them.

    Well, but I did already.
    Google it I mean.
And as far as ILLEGAAL MIGRANTS go theres a simple solution.
    1. Only allow requests for immigration/asylum to be processed in our overseas offices, NOT in the country.
    2. Bond visas. Employers or whoever should "guarantee" foreign workers leave when the job is done.
    3. We need to soort out the 15 to 20 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS now in the country.
    4. ALL applications for employment go through e verifile with severe penalties for employers/employees who violate the law.

You're correct, but who's lying? I'm reading the exact opposite.
Which is exactly what the Biden administration has initiated.
Why? IF they were needed what makes you think, in ongoing business's, the job is permanently "finished" and the workers are no longer needed?
The tRumpublican house will never fund that.
The tRumpublicans will never bite the hand that feeds them ... so good luck with that.

No, biden is not doing applications overseas. There is no application process with open borders.
Half of ILLEGAL MIGRANTS came on a visa and simply never left.
We do need a foreign labor force, they can be managed with bonded visas.
Liberals yammer that conservatives won't fund changes and try to make it like conservatives encourage ILLEGAL MIGRANTS.

Thats an incredible attitude given bidens open border. 6 MILLION ILLEGALMIGRANTS since biden took office.

Yes, they have started doing just that.
Migrants overstaying their visa's isn't a South of the boarder problem, they don't have visa's. And it's far from a new problem.
Now all you need is a actual program and funding.
IF you compare the current immigration situation to tRaitor tRump's ... they both have higher numbers that optimal. But, there are multitudes of people that are in dire straights of desperation South of our boarder. And, at least in part, we created this problem by propping up past dictators that had favorable policies toward our Corporations that were exploiting their resources. Now that we've taken that to it's remunerative limit what's left is tyrannical former military that are exploiting the only thing left ... the people. So they're coming here and we're their only hope.
