On this day March 20, in Chichen Itza, Mexico the skill of the Mayan builders of the 1,000 year old temple of El Castillo de Kukulcan is on dazzling display today, on the spring equinox, and again at the autumnal equinox. The play of later-afternoon light and shadow creates a moving serpent that, over 34 minutes, slithers down the pryramid's steps.

As if that wasn't amazing enough, get a load of this:

I saw a show about this pyramid and they compared the acoustical signatures of the quetzal bird and the chirp that is produced when you clap your hands at the base of the pyramid, and they matched exactly.

    Absolutely incredible...

Quetzacoatl...the feathered serpent. The god sailed off to the east, and returned in 1519 CE.

In 1312, 700-years ago, the Knights Templar were officially disbanded and dissolved when Pope Clement V issued the Papal Bull, Vox In Excelso (Voice on High).

The Day of the Dead, in Oaxaca, Mexico. Skeleton motifs appear in decorations in front of a cathedral. The belief that souls of the dead return each year, to be welcomes by their families, predates the Aztecs. Now it is celebrated in conjunction with All Saints' Day.

A good time to remember those who have gone before us.:skull:

    Memento Mori.

In 1988 Virus, launched a student at Cornell University, Robert Morris, hit the Pentagon's computer networks, and some number of universities. A student came to court, was fined and given a suspended sentence.
