`Take some more tea,' the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
`I've had nothing yet,' Alice replied in an offended tone, `so I can't take more.'
`You mean you can't take less,' said the Hatter: `it's very easy to take more than nothing.'

    -Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland to teach logic to his friend's three children, including Alice, who was 10 years old. Maybe @chris155au could start by reading that book in his quest to learn to think logically.

He didn't. He's responsible for THIS particular anti-vaxxer movement. One completely based on politics.

The anti-vax movement against, for example, HPV vaccine was based on several grounds. Including religious objections and yes... ignorance of science. But this one is 100% political.

He was booed by people at his rally this past weekend for mentioning the vaccine. Thus, he can't be responsible for them not getting vaccinated if he changed his position and they didn't change theirs on his suggestion, can he?

My company recently started to require vaccines for everyone (I'm a remote software developer). I've tendered my resignation. I may end up getting the shot but I won't work for a company that makes those decisions on my behalf as a condition of employment. F that. And I wouldn't work for golem either (not that I believe he actually has employees).

I'm not against vaccine requirements in general, but it does seem illogical to require it for somebody working entirely remotely.

Sure he could. I was glad he did that, but it's definitely possible to persuade someone of something (either directly or indirectly), and then change your own mind while they don't change theirs. I recall he downplayed covid in general. Even downplaying covid and never being actually against the vaccine could make him partially responsible for people being against the vaccine because the decision to vaccinate is cost-benefit.

Fair enough. Notwithstanding the idiocy of taking medical advice from a politician, I absolutely agree that he could have done more to lead and model the behaviors that we were given by Drs. Fauci and Birx and the CDC. That *segment* of it, I agree with.

I am against vaccine requirements in general but it is logical to require them for certain jobs. Front line medical workers come to mind.

Nonsense. Your stellar research continues produce fetid effluvia.
So, you blame him for not violating others constitutional rights? Of for eschewing a grandstanding ceremony to take his shot? Your beloved lefties, Biden, Pelosi, et al, mocked his travel restrictions, invited people to congregate in Chinatown and said it would take two or three years to produce a vaccine. You need some new sources for your intensive research - CNN and Maddow are lying to you.

    Ok.

Yes, weak at best and probably not good enough for any decision making. I am looking at it statistically. Look at my post #144 in this thread.

Wonder if he wouldn’t have contracted COVID if he wasn’t out searching for jobs everywhere

I blame trump for the 300,000 - 400,000 Americans he killed through his utter stupidity.

It was politicized to attack Trump and eliminate him. The media carried the ball down field.
I got a call around 2 hours ago from staff at St. Alphonsus hospital as to my diabetes and diet control. We did get to talking of why all in the hospital wear masks. Frankly they did not force me to wear mine when there.
She said this new variant is why. That is is worse than what Trump faced. She said since I am vaccinated I could get sick, but only mildly sick. We discussed some who died that refused to be vaccinated.
Every person you are in contact with the dies brings one to think a lot harder.
Does not only include COVID but auto accidents or those dying due to hard drinking or other drugs.
Diseases do not know your politics.

I posted on a forum, not here, that when CV19 started hitting us, it was hitting Democrat's states or cities very hard.
They over the months it spread more. That forum ended up putting that post into a sewer where posters get very ugly to each other. They curse each other and really the worst of the worst voted for Biden.
Seems we have more than one disease of the brain.

The solution (to this, and the future viruses we can expect) is to stay in one place. Globalism is the reason a virus which would normally only impact a small part of the planet, is now everywhere.

That's the first thing I thought about but no. Symptoms don't take 2 weeks to develop. And nobody else has tested positive since then.

Some here have said that it's "statistically impossible" to know two people who die of Covid

Is that what they do to you? I don't think you need much emotionalism to overcome your "logic".

Science did not say that it would. I am fully vaccinated, but I read the science. So I have not stopped wearing a mask indoors when there is a lot of people. And we still have a mask mandate at my company when visiting clients or any time they are indoors.

BS is what you get if you rely on Fox and the wingnut media for "science". Hopefully you have learned your lesson.

If you are vaccinated, chances of dying are so small that "you won't die" is perfectly reasonable. But this is not about you. You still CAN infect people who are unvaccinated. So wear a mask when you're indoors in a public setting!

It's just a matter of following what real scientists say. Tucker not being one of them.

That's ridiculous. I lost two family members to COVID in January.

However, whatever that denier is claiming clearly doesn't apply to people in the medical field.

I find it hysterically psychotic for people to claim something doesn't exist because they've never seen it or experienced it. That's the dumbest assertion on the planet.

So, they call out PF posters as liars based on their very limited POV, but completely and fully support Trump's Big Lie with NO proof. Yeah, that makes a ton of sense. Ugh.

Exactly. Hence the viruses are here to stay, and these battles will be constant.

There is no right (constitutional or otherwise) to infect others with a deadly disease.

What about a disease that's not so deadly? Do you have the right to infect someone with, say, flu?

I think the argument is that you are not likely to know two young and otherwise healthy people who have died.
