It was actually the Roman Emperor Trajan.
"Caesar" was merely his title.

no, Hadrian did name it Syria-Palaestina after the land of the Phillistines, which was around Gaza and stretched a bit north along the coast.

at no time before that, was this land ever called Palestine.

yes, it was an attempt to erase the Jews from the land that had been such a pain in the ass to the Romans.

only one arch in Rome was built to celebrate the defeat of a single Province, and that is the Arch of Titus built to celebrate the defeat of the Jews.

I strongly disagree, the Zionists came determined to build a state that's true but that doesnt mean war had to break and ppl to be dislocated, that fact was due to conflict between Arab nationalism and Jewish- Zionism, in Zionist view both had rights which is why they agreed to have 2 countries, Arabs wanted one state, so if we follow the equel rights path its Arab nationalism that caused the fued and in fact started the war, but like I said before I understand them, its the continous refusal and Jihadi approach today that I reject.

I would say that as the Zionists decided to be separate from the indigenous people from the very beginning did create the situation. Of course they were friendly with the indigenous jews who became Zionist and killed those who did not. I know the British Colonial power asked them to include the indigenous people in their projects and also in their schooling in order to create a cohesive society but this was refused. It was a choice of the Zionists. I know there were other zionists who wanted an inclusive society. However their voice was not heeded and the ones the British described as aggressive and acting like the Nazi's were the ones who created Israel.

You also must remember the second part of the Balfour declaration - that nothing be done to interfere with the religious or civil rights of the people or ready there. This was not adhered to by the Zionists. Religious yes, civil no, civic not at all.

As you put later, they did not. A team sent from the US and UK to survey the situation and make suggestions, said that there should not be two states. They said they would just keep on fighting and until this was sorted out, not even one state should be recognised. One state is what it ought to have been by the Balfour declaration. The Jews were offered a homeland but not a state and it was Jewish people living in the US and the UK more than anyone who demanded this. It was of course believed that a minimal number of Jews would want to live there. They obviously could not imagine 1930's Europe and the holocaust.

From your point of view that may be true. From their point the opposite.Glad you understand ther view.

Wiki leaks showed that Abbas offered the kitchen sink to no avail. However we are now seeing that as that becomes obvious Europe, as shown by Sweden and the recent Backbench debate in the UK are no longer having this. A Palestinian State is a right not a bargaining chip they say and the lines are green by International law. I believe things are turning against Israel which has been given too much to leeway to sort this out. The jihad is another story and late on the scene....and certainly among the Palestinians only a small section - why are you putting it as if it was them all or a major part of them?

You are of course correct in using the description SALAD - it applies to the vast majority of the world's human population.

IMO - its also absurd for , those who today identify themselves as "Jews" to claim "Right of Return" to the Zionist state called "Israel" and claim descent from. biblical "Israelites/Judeans"

However many Zionists consider themselves a " Master Race "

consider this :
:

In his memoirs of his years in the White House, former President Jimmy Carter wrote that there could have been peace between the Arabs and the Israelis had it not been for the bigoted, Nazi-like racial views of Israeli's Prime Minister Menachem Begin.

Begin, Carter recalled, believed the Jews were a Master Race, a holy people superior to Egyptians and Arabs. Begin also believed that God wanted the Jews to own the land, so there was absolutely no basis for peace. The Jews lusted after the land and intended to have it. Period.

Jews a Totally Different Species?

Rabbi Mendel Schneerson, the late Jewish Lubavitcher and friend of the senior George Bush, also believed the Jews are a superior Master Race. Many Jews today agree with the late Rabbi. Some even believe that Schneerson will himself someday be resurrected and return as the Jewish World Messiah. Schneerson once explained his theory of Jewish racial superiority this way. He said, "We have a case of the Jew...a totally different species."

"The body of a Jewish person," Schneerson bragged, "is of a totally different quality from the body of members of all other nations of the world. Bodies of the Gentiles are in vain. An even greater difference is in regard to the soul...A non-Jewish soul comes from three satanic spheres, while the Jewish soul stems from holiness."
Holocaust activist Elie Wiesel, whose lies about his holocaust experiences seem to be legion, also claims that Jews are a superior race. "Everything about us is different," Wiesel boasts. "Jews are ontologically exceptional."

No Mixed Marriages for the Superior Race

This poisonous theory of the Jews impacts their relations with all other nations and peoples. Because they are convinced they are the Master Race, superior, god souls living amongst inferior beasts, Israel does not sanction or allow mixed marriages (The Jerusalem Report, October 20, 1994, p.26). In the U.S.A., liberal Jews scream out for more mixed marriages, but only among Gentiles! Jewish leaders fund civil rights organizations and are in favor of increased immigration of foreign races. But back home in Israel, the Sharon government is now building a Berlin-style wall creating an apartheid nation, to keep "inferior" Arabs in their segregated ghettos.

That's not the whole story : read and learn :

The most notable Bosnian Muslim anti-fascist brigade in World War II was the “16th Moslem Partisan Brigade” that inflicted heavy casualties on the German and Italian forces, particularly in battles for Drvar, Livno, port of Zara (Dalmatian coast), Bihac, Tuzla, Sarajevo, and eastern Bosnian front. This was the strongest anti-fascist Bosnian Muslim brigade with 15,000 well-armed guerrillas under the command of Josip Broz Tito.

The 16th Moslem Partisan Brigade is credited with a partial destruction of collaborationist Muslim Handzar division. Bosnian Muslims led by Tito inflicted heavy casualties on Handzar in battles around Tuzla in February 1944.

===

If the Mufti's collaboration with the dictators cannot be justified, it becomes absolutely impossible to rationa1ise the Haganah's offers to spy for the Nazis. Given the outcry against the Ha'avara and the servile posture of the ZVfD, it seems certain that, at the very least, a signiflcant minonty of the WZO would have voted with their feet had they known of the Haganah's subterranean betrayal.

In general, the Palestinian people are proud of the fact that they were among the few who did not collaborate openly with Nazis. On the other hand, the peoples and governments of France, Italy, Japan, Romania, Croatia, Chechnya, Bulgaria, Switzerland, ... etc. all collaborated openly with the Nazis.

Tragically, many of these peoples and governments happily pointed out their Jewish citizens to the Gestapo. So it's unfair, if not outright criminal, to exploit al-Hajj Amin's conduct in order to eternally condemn the Palestinian people as Nazis, while ignoring the choices made by most European peoples and governments who openly collaborated with the Nazis.

In that regard, it's worth noting that Josef Stalin, the Soviet premier and dictator, forcibly transferred the people of the Caucasus to Siberia as a collective punishment for their collaboration with the Nazis during WWII. However, the same people were allowed to return to their homes in 1958 when the scale of the war crime became known to Khruschev, Stalin's successor in the 1950s. If the people of the Caucasus were allowed to return to their homes under Communist rule, why can't the Palestinian refugees return to their homes under Israeli rule?

IRONICALLY, the shocking truth is that it has been proven that the Jewish Stern gang received funding and arms from the Italian Fascists to resist the British Mandate in Palestine. In fact, the Stern gang's collaboration with the Fascists and Nazis was going on while their Jewish brothers were being persecuted in Nazi concentration camps.

It should also be noted that when the Americans, British, and their Arab allies were busy blocking the Desert Fox's (Erwin Rommel) advances in north Africa, the Stern gang's leader Yitzhak Shamir and the Irgun gang's leader Menachem Begin were busy ambushing British soldiers, blowing up the vital Haifa-Cairo railroad supply line, and terrorizing British and Palestinian civilians (Righteous Victims, p. 174).

And when Yitzhak Shamir, Israel's future Prime Minister in the 1980s, was asked to explain their collaboration with the Fascists, he replied:
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend
." (One Palestine Complete , p. 464).

The British liberated that land from the Ottoman Empire... It was theirs by right of conquest... There was a 'League of Nations' then... They were free to create countries from the 'LIBERATED TERRITORY' There were two British Mandates Palestine and Mesopotamia and the French Mandate of the Levant (Syria Lebanon)... all these countries were created by the French and British even Italy and Japan were involved... Lebanon and Syria, Israel, Jordan and Iraq all these countries were created by the Liberating Armies... and surprise, surprise no one is complaining but the rag tag ignoramuses called Palestinians...

I am very happy that the Caliphate are taking over Iraq and Syria to teach someone like you a lesson.
If the west is not going to renew what the British and French did in 1917 (boots on the Ground) then bye bye Middle East. Creating Arab countries that cannot defend themselves is a waste of time...

Lebanese military foil ISIS attempt to establish emirate in Tripoli: sources
ISIS and Al-Nusra Front fought together against Lebanese forces in port city
Thair Abbas Asharq Al-Awsat Tuesday, 28 Oct, 2014
http://www.aawsat.net/2014/10/article55337980

Beirut, Asharq Al-Awsat—Lebanon’s military have halted an attempt by
extremist groups to establish an Islamic emirate centered around the city of
Tripoli after more than four days of fighting, an official source said on
Monday.

A Lebanese military official, speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat on the condition
of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media, said that
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters had been seeking to take
over the port city and declare it part of the “caliphate” it established on
Iraqi and Syrian territory earlier this year, when it declared its leader
Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi the leader of the world’s Muslims.

Lebanese military and security forces successfully drove the Islamist
fighters out of Tripoli, Lebanon’s second largest city, after four days of
fighting that left at least 42 people dead and hundreds more injured.
Lebanese officials and politicians hailed the operation a success as efforts
continue to pursue and capture the fleeing militants, including Sheikh
Khaled Hablas of the city’s Haroun Mosque and fighters affiliated to his
group.

Sources informed Asharq Al-Awsat that ISIS gunmen were fighting alongside
Al-Nusra Front fighters and other Sunni militants against the Lebanese
authorities, in what analysts have described as a dangerous development.
ISIS and Al-Nusra Front have clashed repeatedly in Syria; it is as yet
unclear whether this was a temporary alliance against the Lebanese army or
if the ISIS-Al-Nusra Front cooperation represents a broader movement on the
ground and could affect the fighting in Iraq and Syria.

The Lebanese military source confirmed that Al-Nusra Front leader Imad Ahmed
Juma had sworn allegiance to Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi in August. The source
added that Juma and his fighters participated in the attempt to take control
of Tripoli, fighting alongside ISIS militants.

Tripoli residents, speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat after the liberation of the
city, said that they believed the militant’s main objective had been to
establish a land bridge from Syria’s Qalamoun mountains to the Lebanese
coast.

Captured fighters reportedly informed Lebanese authorities that the
establishment of an Islamic emirate in Tripoli had been the first phase of a
broader plan to establish control of other cities along the Lebanese western
seaboard. ISIS and its affiliates would also have sought to transfer and
receive fighters and arms via these ports.

Captured Al-Nusra Front commander Ahmed Mikati confirmed the ISIS plans, the
Lebanese military official told Asharq Al-Awsat. Mikati had also implicated
a number of others in the plot to establish an emirate, including well-known
Lebanese Salafist Sheikhs Kamal Al-Bustani and Khaled Hoblos, among others.

Mikati said that ISIS had been seeking to carry out the “Mosul scenario” in
Tripoli and the surrounding area. ISIS fighters took over the northern city
Iraqi city of Mosul in June and quickly pushed on to secure the surrounding
villages and territory after locking down the city, entrenching their grip
on the region.

The Al-Nusra Front commander said that the militants were planning to
quickly occupy Tripoli’s surrounding villages before moving on to secure
other areas in Lebanon. “The first phase of the plan was to completely
takeover Tripoli with the objective of securing a land bridge connection
between Qalamoun in Syria with the Lebanese coast,” Mikati said.

Tripoli residents who fled the fighting have begun returning to the city
with even more army reinforcements expected to be dispatched to the region
within the next few days, local media reported. Although many ISIS-Al-Nusra
Front fighters were killed or captured in the fighting, many others remain
on the run with Lebanese security and military patrols now seeking to
capture them and secure the situation on the ground.

only tyrants and thieves claim to liberate something that was never theirs.

The West Bank never belonged to Israel, therefore they couldn't have possibly "liberated" it.

Its like saying the Crusaders liberated Jerusalem.

No !
In 1941 as the extent of the Holocaust was still barely known outside Europe, but the German victory appeared inevitable, the so-called "Stern gang" made a desperate attempt to " to rescue the Jews of Eretz Israel" after the German victory and thus tried to contact German officials.

This is from 6 days ago. I made a search after seeing a similar one which also said that the EU does not consider a one state solution would meet the needs of the Palestinians and reiterated what was said at the UK Parliamentary debate about Bedouin being evicted from E1 (and other sites)

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/1.622099

and when you add this
https://news.vice.com/article/jerusalem-tensions-escalate-as-netanyahu-pushes-settlement-expansion

Israel is really pushing it. As I see it since the Palestinians first decided to go for UN recognition, Israel has been on a land grab. She is shooting herself in the foot. It is only a matter of time till the UK and the rest of Europe join Sweden and recognise the Palestinian state along with serious sanctions.

Palestine WAS NEVER, NEVER, EVER MUSLIM... It is the LAND of the JEWS from the very beginning... you need to open a book friend... From now on, putting you on IGNORE is not enough, so I am going to 'overpass' your insipid/unsavory declarations

Canaan belonged to the Jews for about 1,000 years.

Then the Christians took it. Then the Muslims took it. The Christians took it again, but then the Muslims took it back.

In total, Canaan has been under Muslim control MUCH longer than under Jewish control.

the two-state solution is dead.

Israel should annex the West Bank, and give citizenship to everyone who has not been convicted of terrorism.

Within 5 years, the Arabs will vote true democracy into the Knesset.

Palestine has been inhabited by mostly Muslims from the 7th century to 1947.

removing 300 years of Crusader rule, that's 1,200 years of Muslim rule.

facts are facts.

Bendor is far too deeply entrenched to understand you ;

Here's few facts for other readers :

The history of the Jews and Judaism in the Land of Israel refers to the history of the Jewish people in the land of Israel./Canaan )

The Jewish people have long maintained both physical and religious ties with the land of Israel./Canaan The first appearance of the name "Israel" in the historic record is the Merneptah Stele, circa 1200 BCE. During the biblical period, two kingdoms occupied the highland zone, the Kingdom of Israel in the north and the Kingdom of Judah in the south. The Kingdom of Israel was conquered by the Neo-Assyrian Empire (circa 722 BCE) and the Kingdom of Judah by the Neo-Babylonian Empire (586 BCE). Upon the defeat of the Babylonian Empire by the Achaemenid Empire under Cyrus the Great, the Jewish elite returned to Jerusalem and the Second Temple was built.

In 165 BCE, the independent Hasmonean Kingdom was established. Although coming under the sway of various empires and home to a variety of ethnicities, the area of ancient Israel was predominantly Jewish until the Jewish–Roman wars. After this time, Jews became a minority in most regions, except Galilee. The area became increasingly Christian after the 3rd century and then largely Muslim from the 7th century conquest until well into the 20th century.
