Seems the world is waking up and noticing Trump hired what most folks consider a white nationalist for an adviser.

Indeed, one could easily say, with demonstrated history, the Bannon's tenure at Breittbart created a blog that was heavily skewed in favor of racist and anti-Semitic editorializing of articles.

Even some Republicans are condemning the choice, while others embrace and encourage it based solely on it irritating civil rights groups.

Personally, I am of the mind the Bannon plays right into deep, hidden racism of some of the conservatives in this country, tapping into white racial anxiety, whites who fear not being the overwhelming majority of folks in this country.

Civil rights groups, Democrats and some Republicans on Monday denounced President-elect Trump’s decision to appoint Stephen K. Bannon to a top White House position, warning that he represents nationalist and racist views that should be rejected by the incoming president.

Congressional Republicans remained largely silent about the decision, choosing to instead praise Mr. Trump’s announcement that Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, will become the new White House chief of staff.

But on Twitter and in statements emailed to reporters, a chorus of critics lamented what they said was a frightening normalization of the fringe views that Mr. Bannon promoted as the chairman of Breitbart News.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Mr. Bannon’s selection “sends the disturbing message that anti-Muslim conspiracy theories and white nationalist ideology will be welcome in the White House.”

That view was echoed by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that tracks hate groups, which insisted that “Trump should rescind this hire. In his victory speech, Trump said he intended to be president for ‘all Americans.’ Bannon should go.”

Republicans who had long opposed Mr. Trump’s candidacy took to Twitter on Sunday night and Monday morning to warn that his choice to rely on the advice of Mr. Bannon is an indication of the way that he will govern.

“The racist, fascist extreme right is represented footsteps from the Oval Office,” said John Weaver, a Republican strategist who ran the presidential campaign of Gov. John Kasich of Ohio and previously advised Senator John McCain of Arizona. “Be very vigilant, America.”

But people close to Mr. Bannon came to his defense as well. Joel B. Pollak, an author and editor at Breitbart, called him an “American patriot who also defends Israel and has deep empathy for the Jewish people.”

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas and presidential candidate, accused Mr. Bannon’s critics of sour grapes. On Twitter, he wrote that Mr. Bannon should embrace the criticism from CAIR, the Muslim rights group.

“Critics of Steve Bannon know he’s smarter and tougher than they are,” Mr. Huckabee wrote. “When CAIR doesn’t like you that is a good thing. Bannon a good g

Great choice. The best way to tell if a Trump pick is good or not is to look at how the extreme left reacts. If they panic, it's a good choice. That's how far the divide between the two parties currently is. America rejected liberalism, so things like this are no surprise.

He wasn't my first pick not because he's not qualified. He has the education and business experiance to be a good advisor. Just because I had hoped for a less controversial appointment. To help with image. There's none really unless you count Dr. Carson and he doesn't even believe dinosaurs existed so he hardly qualifies.

On the other hand anything that ticks CAIR off is fine with me.

Let's see some more appointments and action before we all decide to paint Swastikas on the White House though shall we?

What better way to signal that his promise to stand for all Americans and to work to unify the country was blatant lie?

"some Republicans" is one aid to John Kasich. That's funny.

I'd like to see evidence of Bannon being “the racist, fascist extreme right." What racist views? Let's see it.

No matter what the position is, and who the person that Trump chooses, Progressives are going to whine and complain and make nasty comments.

And who knows, probably even get involved in some violent protest somewhere.

Course they are, they're still smarting from the fact that a non-politician "outsider" like Trump has come in and upset their little club by taking the Presidency away from under their noses..:)

PS- there's a historical precedent when Julius Caesar (a soldier) upset the politico's of his time; who can forget Shakespeare's immortal words-
CAESAR (stabbed and staggering)- "Aargh my ass is busted! Help me Brutus!"
BRUTUS- "F*** you Jack!" (and stabs him again)
CAESAR- "You mother******, I thought you was my mate!"

    Right??

And Robert Byrd was a member of the KKK for most of his life.

But Democrats "forget" that, or somehow try to justify it.

The worst racist I've seen appointed recently was Eric Holder. Good luck topping that POS.

I can only laugh in the face of anyone complaining about Bannon, when Hillary and Obama embraced Black Supremacists from #BLM.

#BLM groups want Black Power and Black autonomy in their racist strongholds.

    http://blacklivesmatter.com/

When has Bannon demanded that Whites can't allow non-Whites be in their governments?

BTW, don't stick yourself with your safety pin.

Lmao. The republicans aren't in the business of caring about our rights.

They're in the business of getting us to argue for our civil rights, to draw attention away from them swindling the nation out of billions, and siphoning it into the pockets of their elitist donors.

How come the country wasn't unified to begin with? I thought Obama's rainbows and unicorns were supposed to do the trick, but I guess not.

Trump has 'inherited' a country as divided as a country can get, and that, my friend, is all because of Obama, Clinton, the DNC and the media. If you're expecting Trump to unify this country 6 days after an election after nearly a decade of liberal democrats intentionally divided it, well, you're in for a surprise. As of right now your current president, your 2016 presidential candidate and the liberal media haven't strongly condemned the current riots taking place, in fact, they're blaming Trump for them.

Let's face facts. If Trump appointed Hillary Clinton as an advisor, you and the left would complain about it. This is nothing more then sour grapes.

But I can see why CAIR would be nervous about a Trump Administration. They have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood which has declared war on the US. The Obama Administration did not investigate because of their own ties to the terrorist organization. Obviously, CAIR has a lot to lose here including their freedom. I wonder if Trump will reopen GITMO?

Ask an Obama supporter. Meanwhile Trump seems to be doing his damndest to take whatever gulf was there and outdo any damage Obama did tenfold. This would be no different than Obama appointing Louis Farrakhan.

It isn't that I expected him to unify the country 6 days after an election. I'm just ridiculing the notion that he has any intention of doing that at all, especially in light of this decision. Appointing Bannon while trying to "unify" the country is like appointing Hillary to secure your email servers.
