I was in Jerusalem last Thursday and watched Jewish nationalists do their "Flag March" in the Old City. They carry their flags and march into Arab neighborhoods basically to tell Arabs to get the hell out of their country. That kind of attitude is not helpful and clearly the objective the exact opposite from helpful, - the march is designed to instigate problems. Our guide told us to leave the area because these events can get violent, which did happen after we left.

Considering all the different genetic studies that have been performed over the last 25 years, it is fair to assume that about 50% of Ashkenazi DNA is European and the rest is Israelite.

 

It's likely that Ashkenazi are 0% related to the 12 tribes, which is why they're commonly known as the 13th tribe.
