Surely it all comes down to Gods actions. It stems back to the Tabernacle. Women were excluded from taking part in any ritual etc. It was all male.
All women were able to do was maintain the fabric etc. Private prayer, alone, was OK. See Hannahs prayer in the Temple.
Me? I've always believed that many women can make good priests. Such a pity the RC church can't see it.

If he had not been a Catholic then the Catholic Church would have had even LESS authority to try him for heresy.....for something we today and even the RCC has to admit, is scientific fact.

Are you trying to make the case that Galileo was "benefitted" by being put on trial for espousing heliocentrism???

You did not understand my reference to Human evolution on another planet which would cause a different form of Humanity to exist AT ALL....so I won't even bother to comment.

Because you don't understand your own claim.

It's you who doesn't understand his claim. We know that people born outside of earth would be different over time by the effect space has on astronauts. Many things would affect the newly born, such as gravity, atmosphere.
As regards skulls, babies have very thin skulls, membranes not bones, when young. Are they humans? It takes up to 2 years for the fontanelles to harden to bone.

It's interestnig that at the same time they want to convince us to worship God because He is supposedly "loving and forgiving"....

they make excuses for Him engaging in infanticide, even genocide? And expect us not to notice or "accept" the contradiction without questioning it???

You know I KNEW the moment I posted about this whole experience thing I would regret it! LOL!!!

Let me tell you what happens just before you die.

Your whole life does NOT flash before your eyes.

You do not see some bright light at the end of a tunnel.

You are not greeted by long dead relatives or friends.

And you certainly do not hear the singing of Angels or find yourself sitting on some cloud and in the words of Steve Martin even if you did find yourself sitting on some cloud with wings on your back....WOULDN'T YOU FEEL STUPID!!?? LOL!!!!

THIS...is what happens a split second before you are going to die and you see it coming....you start to say......and this is the VERY FIRST THING THAT COMES TO ONE'S MIND....YOU START TO SAY....OH....S#!%!

Well hold on a minute, this type of question needs a thorough explanation, for me to just say it was ok won't suffice. But I know, no matter what it said, it won't be acceptable to you...why? because you're a non-believer that's why.

Your closed mind is incapable of accepting anything to do with Almighty God. You are trying your best to make arguments and win them to satisfy yourself that there is no way the God of the Bible could ever exist given what is presented in the Bible. But anyway I will give a thorough explanation and I will use one such nation the Canaanite people that God destroyed as written in Scripture.

The question is, "So it's "okay" when God orders actual BORN babies killed? "Punishing them for their SOCIETY?"

This is not an easy question to answer but we must keep several things in mind.

First, no human person (including infants) is truly innocent. The Scripture teaches that we are all born in sin (Psalm 51:5, 58:3) This implies that all people are morally culpable for Adam's sin in some way. Infants are just as condemned from sin as adults are.

Second, God is sovereign over all of life and can take it whenever He sees fit. God, and God alone, can give life and God alone has the right to take it whenever He so chooses.

In fact, He ultimately takes every person's life at death. It is not our life to begin with but God's. While it is wrong for us to take a life, except in instances of capital punishment, war, and self-defense, this does not mean that it is wrong for God to do so.

We recognize this when we accuse some person or authority who takes human life as "playing God." God is under no obligation to extend anyone's life for even another day. How and when we die is completely up to Him.

Third, an argument could be made that it would have been cruel for God to take the lives of all the Canaanites except the infants and children. Without the protection and support of their parents, the infants and small children were likely to face death anyway due to starvation. The chances of survival for an orphan in the ancient Near East were not good.

Finally, and most importantly, God may have provided for the salvation for those infants who would not have otherwise attained salvation if they had lived into adulthood. We must remember that the Canaanites were a barbarous and evil culture. If those infants and children had lived into adulthood, it is very likely they would have turned into something similar to their parents. If all infants and young children who die before an age of moral accountability go straight to heaven (as we believe), then those children are in a far better place than if God had allowed them to live and grow to maturity in a depraved culture.

Surely the issue of God commanding violence in the Old Testament is difficult. However, we must remember that God sees things from an eternal perspective, and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). The Apostle Paul tells us that God is both kind and severe (Romans 11:22). While it is true that God's holy character demands that sin be punished, His grace and mercy remain extended to those who are willing to repent and be saved. The Canaanite destruction provides us with a reminder that while our God is gracious and merciful, He is also a God of holiness and wrath.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere! Or nowhere as the case may be...

No need to feel regret, I won't talk to you about this anymore. But, I just want to mention the message to you, from the other side: they say keeping you alive 'till today was a pain in the... let's say, neck!

I had assumed when you didn't want to talk anymore....you would stop doing so. Instead you submit the opinions of "things" completely existing in your own imagination as an answer....WTF.

That is not the reason/rule, like I explained to cd in a previous post on this thread, that verse was not a declaration by Paul. He rebuked that verse in verse 36 of that passage. On pg. 16 #157 of this thread the verse is explained. Click on link below to read explanation.

Again, like I told you previously, go ask the Vatican on your question "What reasons do Catholics cite for creating the rule that women cant elect the pope?"

It was a yes or no answer. Not a bunch of made up bs about your opinion.
But I think your answer is YES.

    - - - Updated - - -

Just tell it like the bible says, women are subservient to men. They must be quiet in church. NO need to whitewash it.

Now folks here is the enedited comment I made that Mitt had to parse in order to be a wise guy and give more non answers. Remember when he wanted us to ask him tough questions? LOL
Here is what I really said. Thanks for proving the below statement correct with your sarcastic answer above.

"No you responded to a question. You did not answer it. I will rephrase the question now to a remedial form. But this just shows why so many people are leaving the church. People like you refuse to answer simple questions then become angry with people if they press you for "real" answers adults require.
Now for the most remedial form of the question you avoided on purpose.
What reasons do catholics cite for creating the rule that women cant elect the pope? Refusal to answer this cogently means you are hiding the answer because you know the truth. You and I both know why you arent answering and also why your fellow believers are pretendind this question wasnt asked. If you cant answer this simple question why are you asking for tough questions? Its silly.
Here's an example of how you think you answer questions.
    Q) Why does it rain?
    Your answer...."because it does"
    My response..."thats not an answer"
Your response...." I answered you its not my fault you are too stupid to understand the answer. You're an angry man!" "

-----He has yet to answer the bolded question in fact he has yet to answer anything but has time to excerpt the "Why does it rain" o deceive the rest of the readers. As you can plainly see, the OP is incapable of acting like an adult. My bolded question was a valid on point question. As you see he responds NOT ANSWERS with sarcasm.

We are aware that you know nothing of our faith. Theory?...did you say theory?...lol

We are aware that when you were a child you got spanking from your Catholic priests when you lied to them that you didn't do anything wrong.

Women don't go to church to sit in a pew to be taught they are inferior...that is nonsense!

If they were indeed being taught that, we wouldn't be seeing any women going to church services... now would we?

From the looks of things I see multitudes of women attending services, thus they are not being taught they are inferior.

So did I misstate the fact that women aren't allowed to vote for Pope? If not it appears I know more about your faith than you do since you still cant answer the question.
Also, I never lied when I told the priest I did nothing wrong as I didn't. I did everything my parents asked me to do and in between I spent time studying, Im sorry I didn't have any sins to confess to your pretend god talkers who give me penance for doing nothing wrong but do nothing to their fellow priests who we all know have been bum jamming underage boys. Or did that not happen either.
If you are sitting in church and you are taught that women cant vote for priests, you have just been taught that you are inferior to men. If I am wrong you must state in open forum that women are allowed to vote for pope. If you cant I win......again.

Who says I don't want to talk anymore? I stopped because I picked up the hint not to pry into personal matters.

But, first, I had a message and I was going to deliver it! Rain or shine, regardless of how crazy it makes me appear. AboveAlpha has no idea how low the chances are for him to still be alive at this point in time, or maybe he does. :eyepopping:

Then, bring in the concept of multiverse, where anything that can happen does somewhere in infinity, and try not to think about the implications of low odds. You'll fail but try anyway... :frown:

But I appreciate your judgment here. Being told I'm crazy and need meds might be just the thing I need to get help...

Yes, cd inflated those numbers, I did some research and it shows in 1948 Israel's population was at 806,000. But it was propheseid that Israel would occupy the "Promised Land"

In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state, and this, too, has ramifications for the student of Scripture. God promised Abram that his posterity would have Canaan as "an everlasting possession"

Scripture tells us, "I will give you and them the land in which you are now a foreigner. I will give the whole land of Canaan to your family forever, and I will be their God."---Gen. 17:8 CEV

And Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel (Ezekiel 37).

Having Israel as a nation in its own land is important in light of end-time prophecy, because of Israel’s prominence in eschatology (Daniel 10:14; 11:41; Revelation 11:8).

    Correction: Revelation 11:8

Have you ever stopped to think that the women who are Catholics don't share the same opinions/sentiments as you do? That's probably the case since I don't see them boycotting Catholic churches...have you seen any protesting going on?...I surely haven't.

He asked you specifically about the Bible and so those other books are irrelevant.

Since you don't believe in God then it is clear you don't believe in the Bible. Since you don't believe in the Bible then it's clear you won't interpret it correctly.

Am I making sense here?...wait let me answer my own question...yes, I'm making sense...lol

Actually your right Wgabrie....I should have died a long time ago when I was shot multiple times at close range.

It was my own arrogance and inflated ego due to success after success and like the stupid kid I was I thought I was invincible and bullet proof....I was and am not.

The ONLY two things that were good that came out of what was for me the most painful and horrific experience of my life....and believe me I have had others....was..#1. My arrogance and stupidity did NOT cost the lives of any of my Team.

#2. When a person makes a mistake like I did and LIVES through it...they sure as HELL are not going to make the same mistake again....and if anything...I can think of 4 occasions where my now super Vigilance and super caution to a fault....probably saved lives.

That defining moment for me...being shot up...being in pain on a level I can't even describe...and unable to shoot myself up with Synth-Morph as we had to walk out and if I took the necessary amount to get out of pain of that level I would have passed out.....allowed me to become far better at what I do then if it had not happened.

Sorry but I don't see anywhere in Scripture where God explicitly states women are worth less than men. You no doubt are reading Scripture and misinterpreting it. Just like my friend WR sees it, I can see it for myself that your interpretations are wrong and like my friend WR said it's because you don't understand the Bible.

The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God expects men to take the leadership role in the church and the home. Does this make women inferior? Absolutely not. Does this mean women are less intelligent, less capable, or viewed as less in God’s eyes? Absolutely not!

What it means is that in our sin-stained world, there has to be structure and authority. God has instituted the roles of authority for our good.

Well....it is a fact that ancient man was not exactly Pro-Feminism. LOL!!!

I think you have to look at Old Testament stories in which very often WOMEN were the one's that in one way or the other were blamed for all sorts of issues such as EVE...representing a woman....was chosen by the writer of the story to be the one to be convinced by Satan....and it always seems the SNAKE is always the fll guy or fall animal...anyways...Satan convinces EVE to convince Adam to pick the Apple thus Humanity is thrown out of Paradise.

It is intereting to note that the author of Genesis also chose to say that Adam was created first and then Eve was created from Adams rib.

In reality WOMEN are in fact Physiologically stronger then men...as women can endure a greater amount of pain...heal faster...and their bodies although on average smaller and less muscular are more efficient and as well women live longer.

Now I am as physically fit as a person of my age can be. I am tough as nails and have endued things most peole could not believe....but when I compare myself to my Mom...who is still alive....and I remeber playing Tennis with her when she was 70...I KNOW....that if all things were equal...she as a woman would be tougher than I.

Most men behave like little children when they don't get what they want and women have the mental makeup and emotional maturity to let men THINK they are in control....but they really are not.

One of the things about being a TRUE Alpha Male as I am...as a True Alpha Male is not one of these must be in control...must prove their strength....must exert their dominance types....that is NOT an Alpha Male...that is a WANNABE....and such men give other men a bad name.

A TRUE Alpha Male is a Man who is perfectly secure in knowing that without women in this world...we men would be lost.

I'd say that is a very sensible, logical, rational statement coming from my friend WR, that's why he would say such a thing.
