Part 27 of Post Your Tough Questions Regarding Christianity

Part 27 is a continuation of Post your tough questions pertaining to God/Jesus/Holy Bible and I will do my best to clarify and make sense of it to those who are unaware...I still have questions and comments I haven't responded to in Part 8 thru 26.
Also I might answer questions that are on other members threads and so this will keep me real busy with the many questions that I will answer from my point of view/perspective keeping in line with Scripture.

I don't want my intentions to come across as converting you or whatever lol... but rather clear up things etc... so ask away.

 

It is not just "my" classification but billions of others as well. And let me point out to you that these taxonomic classifications are just theories that popped up a hundred or so years ago by atheist scientists.

And so they are not factual, these theories can never be proven to be true and factual.

 

How am I being intellectually dishonest? A theory is defined as a mere conjecture or guess. I did give him half a credit...didn't I?...lol

And what observations are you talking about? How were you able to observe anything that supposedly happened millions of years ago as your theories suggest when man didn't even exist then? A lot of it is based on mere conjecture or guesswork.

 

So we're off on another thread....started by a guy who claims to be the judge of who is or is not a "real Christian"....

and who talks about people who "distort the Bible".....while he ignores his buddy WR just making up crap about the Bible like Barabbas being a "rapist".


Honestly, is there anybody (besides WR and Incorporeal) who takes this seriously anymore?

 

Reminiscent of atheists who say that God can never be proven to be true and factual.

 

We know the rules. But when the OP goes OT, others seem to follow.

 

Truth matters and should always be taken seriously it is the only way to preserve truth and prevent false history from taking over.
The Bible has provided us with plenty of historical insights that include origin of men, history of Israel but most of all the reality and existence of God.

 

How big is your god?

Just a ball park size will do.

 

The history of Israel is pretty much bogus... borrowed stories from other cultures... fanciful inventions about their origins and exploits that never happened.

 

That's actually a big misunderstanding. Back in 1600's, scientific theories that were proven to be true - were then called laws. We have the law of gravity or the laws of thermodynamics. We know these to be true and factual. In the modern day, we do have some theories that have risen to the level of a law, because like the laws of gravity, they have also been proven to be true and factual. But for cultural reasons, we no longer use the term law, and so we just continue to use the term theory (even though it confuses the public quite a bit). There are examples of other modern day theories , which include quantum theory, which we know to be true and factual. The theory of relativity is another modern day theory, which we know to be true and factual. The theory of evolution, quantum theory, and Einstein's relativity theory, if they were discovered in the 1600's, would all be called laws, because they have all been proven to be true and factual. But since in the modern day, the term "law" has fallen out of favor, we continue to call them theories. Hope that clears things up.

 

God is infinite the Alpha and Omega.

 

The reality of Israel and its existence and history is as real as Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, France, Rome, etc. the historical facts are undeniable.

 

Yes. there was a small hilltop village in bandit territory that was called Israel.. but it was never grand, nor did it have vast armies or win epic battles. They were just very good at story telling. The reason that scholars study history and archeology and languages is to look for the meanings in the lessons.

 

That is why everything was recorded and archived by Christian scholars and fathers as historical evidences so that people of present and most of all the future will know the difference between true story and story telling. The Holy Bible serve as the blue print the road map to modern history.

 

So why do you LIE about what's in it?

 

No.. it wasn't recorded and archived by "Christian scholars".. It was written during and after the Babylonian exile in separate, different stories and compiled, combined and rewritten during the reign of King Omri.. The real history is absolutely fascinating... Much more so than the epic myths and poems (psalms)they borrowed from Sumer, Egypt and Ugarit.

 

There is nothing for me to lie what is in the Bible only to share the historical truth of it.

 

What "historical truth"? There is NO historical truth.. Its didactic literature.. Even the ancient Hebrews knew that.

 

How big is that? Can you give me something more concrete than infinite?

While you're there, can you explain how you know please. Inc says your god is incomprehensible, but it seems you are comprehending it.

 

You know.. the reason that people study the scripture, archeology, history, geology, linguistics .. is because they CARE about matters of faith.. Its important to them.. Its not a rote issue.. They CARE about ethics and all that sort of stuff.. Fundamentalists really don't care.
