LOL. Your own so called "logic" demonstrates that God has a creator and the creator of God has a creator, and the creator of that creator has a creator etc. etc.

    Here is your exact logic.

    1. God [something] exists.

    2. Something cannot come from nothing.

    3. A being created God.

LOL, sorry that wasn't my logic, it is not my fault you're incapable of comprehending what you read correctly. I gave you simple logic to follow and you blew it...lol

If there is anything to laugh about it's you claiming the 2nd premise I presented cannot be proven...that's ludicrous! You can't even demonstrate how something can come from nothing.

So let me start again...please take notes. Below is what I exactly presented and not what you have presented above.

    1. Something exists (You cannot deny you exist because you have to exist in order to deny your own existence...which is self-defeating... so this first premise is true...which is so obvious).

    2. You cannot get something from nothing (No one has ever demonstrated that something can come from nothing because from nothing, nothing comes unless they change the definition of what "nothing" is, so this second premise is also true).

    3. Therefore, a necessary and eternal Being exists (Therefore, the conclusion naturally follows...an eternal Being is responsible for everything that exists).

So essentially what I said is that things exist (universe and all things in it) and that all these things could not have come from nothing, therefore a necessary and Eternal Being exists who is responsible for everything that exists. This Eternal Being is God. Since He is Eternal, nobody created Him, He is the Uncaused Being that caused everything else to come into existence.

Now do you think you can comprehend everything I just said without misinterpreting anything?...I gave you simple logic, and now simple English to follow...lol

Ok Jet thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it to point out your inability to comprehend correctly what is presented to you.

Mitt doesn't answer "hard" questions mate .. the name of the game is avoidance ..

What did you think God gave you a brain for if not Questioning the Almighty - and this holy Book which is both contains many errors that you attribute to this God.

So which God is it that you worship Mitt - and which Bible did he write ? KJV .. is that the one Brother Mitt .. Is this God the Author of the KJV ? --- I know many of the Fundamentalists favor this horrible translation... to keep adherents in the dark. Is that your favorite as well Brother Mitt ?

is that you figure out which God it is that you worship Brother Mitt - and which Bible this God Wrote .. so you can set about worshiping this God .. and not the False Martin God you have been worshiping. .. or is Martin the name of your God Mitt .. is that the one you worship .. peddling the "Faith Alone" salvation trope.

It is you that cannot understand your own logic. How is the following any differerent from you so called logic.

    1. Something [God] exists.
2, You cannot get something from nothing.
    3. Therefore, a being exists [that created God].

Now of course, your logic is involves a special pleading fallacy. An educational link on what a special pleading is:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_pleading

And of course your attempt at logic was not something new that you came up with. Rather, it was a simplistic version of the age old cosmological argument which I previously provided you a link to, which you obviously did not read. So you are either stuck with special pleading (fallacy) or indefinite regress. An educational link is provided below.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite_regress

Stop trying to prove the invisible man in the sky by interence. Rather present the Empirical Evidence for your claim. Which of course you cannot, because there is no empirical evidence.

As for the taking notes and helping me with comprehension:

I comprehend smugness pretty pretty. Trolling as well. But neither demonstrate a magic man exists.

Yes, and I think most of us caught that.

And God being a special pleading here isn't the only problem with it either.

    Other issues are:

    1. Maybe the universe or a previous or parent universe has always existed. We don't know.

    2. Why must whatever created the universe be a being, much less a sentient or God like being?

    3. Even if a first cause happened, and even if there is a creator being, that's far far away from any particular vision of God or what it/he/she/they want, if anything.

    4. The whole thing is special pleading as you said.

Struggle so much?...that's funny coming from a guy who definitely has struggles in interpreting Scripture correctly. And I have no idea how in your opinion I struggle with Bible contradictions and changes. I have never gave any impression that I did that, so obviously you're just making that up.

You think you know what I think...lol...sorry Gift but that's ludicrous. You're just expressing your opinion that is baseless. As far as I'm concerned the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and so it is inerrant, infallible. Anyone can claim they found a mistake in the Bible, but believe me it's not going to rattle me one bit, my faith will not be shaken to the core...you can take that to the bank. I sit on a foundation built on solid rock, not molten rock, but solid rock because I have unquestioning faith in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ. We Christians learn that all Scripture is inspired by God thus from the very first verse to the very last and everything in between the Bible is inerrant, infallible Word of God.

    We Read in Scripture:

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, 21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21 NLT

So they say, that has no effect whatsoever in diminishing my faith in God/Jesus Christ/Holy Bible.

You speak as if you're omniscient. Sorry Gift but I can't take your baseless opinions seriously...I just can't.

This all coming from a non-Christian lecturing a Christian...you're hilarious Gift!...keep up the comedy act...lol

You don't know that about the people doing the copying and translating not all acting under God's direct inspiration. That's just your baseless opinion, unsubstantiated as it is.

Nope...you're wrong. It's an established fact that the very early dating of the documents were written during the lifetime of the eyewitnesses some only 15 years after our Lord Savior Jesus Christ's death.

Sorry but not true again. My previous response refutes this statement of yours. Where do you get this unbiblical stuff from Gift? You've been visiting those non-Christian sites...have you Gift?

Ok Gift thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

Why are you responding to posts from 2014 -- in some desperate dance of avoidance - of the tough question before you.

What is the name of the God of the Bible in which you believe . .and which Bible did he author so we can find the correct interpretation of scripture. Is it the King James Version Brother Mitt ? Why are you running from these simple questions ? How can you direct someone to the Truth .. if you can't tell them which book in which that Truth is written ..

Why do you not want to help people to find Jesus .. and instead direct them away from the teachings of Jesus .. onto the path of deception ?

From the true path you have veered Brother Mitt ..

Note how Mitt admits that people interpret scripture differently, claims God is all powerful, says God judges people based on if they follow what he demands or not, yet Mitt doesn't admit God intentionally made this confusion and resulting pain and suffering so and therefore wishes it.

RE: Part 39 of Post Your Tough Questions Regarding Christianity
SUBTOPIC: The Application of God Powers
    ※→ et al,

There is a component here that is faith-based dependent. This component Emanates from a supernatural location and is unchallengeable. In the case of the deity - that has its own powers (omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnibenevolent) can stand alone. It is the application of those powers that present the necessary evidence or cause for both the support and belief. There are inconsistencies in the application and outcome.

    Most Respectful,
    R

Yes Brother Penquin - and how can scripture be interpreted at all .. when Mitt will not tell us which scripture he is referring to ?

We need your help Brother Mitt - Is the KJV in its entirety - the infallible word of God - or Not ?

You see Brother Penguin . the one who may be strugging here .. is the one who can not manage to state which Bible Book this God Breathed Scripture is to be found .. and he can not come up with the name of the God in this Scripture who we are supposed to be worshiping / "Loving"

I am not much moved to join this substanceless religion that our good Brother Mitt is promoting ..

No Grasping, the reality is that your charge of sexism is really based upon your lack of knowledge of Scripture. Furthermore Paul made no such declaration that it is "disgraceful" for a woman to speak in church.

But anyway let me bring up the passage and I'll add verses 13, 14, and 15 to get a more clearer picture of what's going on.

    We Read in Scripture:

11 Women should learn quietly and submissively. 12 I do not let women teach men or have authority over them. Let them listen quietly. 13 For God made Adam first, and afterward he made Eve. 14 And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan. The woman was deceived, and sin was the result. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing,[c] assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty. 1Timothy 2:11-15 NLT

God, through the apostle Paul, assigned different roles to men and women. This is a result of the way mankind was created and the way in which sin entered the world. God restricts women from serving in roles of teaching and or having spiritual authority over men.

So why should women not teach or have authority over men? Because "God made Adam first, and afterward he made Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan. The woman was deceived, and sin was the result." (verses 13-14).

God created Adam first and then created Eve to be a "helper" for Adam. The order of creation has universal application in the family and in the church.

    We Read in Scripture:

22 For wives, this means submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. 24 As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything.

25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her 26 to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word.[a] 27 He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. 28 In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. 29 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. 30 And we are members of his body.

31 As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” 32 This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. 33 So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Ephesians 5:22-33 NLT

So this had nothing to do with sexism. It was just the way God ordained that only men are to serve in positions of spiritual teaching authority in the church. And nothing to do with men being better teachers or women were less intelligent because we know this is not the case. Again it was just the way God designed the church to function. When the Boss wants it a certain way, a certain way it is.

Ok Grasping thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

Bear my ignorance if this was posted previously…

What is the relationship between God, government, community and family? And how important is it that the latter of these abide by your philosophy?

It would not be confused or misunderstood if an all powerful God existed and wanted to be understood. Nor would such a God need to communicate by written text.

And to actually judge people on if they follow what God wants, they would have to first know what God wants. They clearly don't all know that, since so many even within the same religion (Christianity here) disagree on what that is.

Right .. but we are looking at it from the perspective of someone who has veered off the path of basic logic in order to maintain tenets of religious belief -- so that is not going to matter .

Don't expect Brother Mitt to get to your "Tough Question" anytime soon .. He is busy responding questions from 2014 - to posters who are no longer around - in a mindless effort to avoid addressing tough questions in the present.

No Grasping, your logic is flawed.

When evidence should be present then you should find it and it won't be "absence of evidence" anymore because you have the evidence you were seeking. But if on the other hand you don't find it, then it was really never there in the first place, it was a mistake to think it was and we're back to "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence" because the evidence is somewhere else that you haven't looked at yet.

Ok Grasping, thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it and I hope I didn't confuse your mind even further than it already is...lol

Our Creator Almighty God by virtue of who He is as creator of all things is the sovereign ruler of the universe. He has all power, all authority and it is He who entrusts roles of leadership to individuals in the government, community (local officials, church, workplace) and family.

God outlines authority structures that provide direction for the government, community (local officials, church, workplace) and family.

God has ordained human authority in basically four areas. First we start with the family unit, we have the husband, the wife, and children.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Spirit-Guided Relationships: Wives and Husbands

21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Ephesians 5:21-33 NLT

20 My son, obey your father’s commands,
and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.

21 Keep their words always in your heart.
Tie them around your neck. Proverbs 6:20-21 NLT

Second we have the government which is comprised of the national leaders, local officials and the citizens. Scripture tells us we are to respect and obey authorities from the government and ordinances so that we can live in an honorable manner within our communities. The leaders nationally and locally are to punish criminals and honor those who do good.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Respect for Authority

13 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. Romans 13:1-5 NLT

    Respecting People in Authority

13 For the Lord’s sake, submit to all human authority—whether the king as head of state, 14 or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right. 15 It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you. 16 For you are free, yet you are God’s slaves, so don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. 17 Respect everyone, and love the family of believers.[a] Fear God, and respect the king. 1 Peter 2:13-17 NLT

Third we have the church, within the church we have the leaders and members. The pastors, elders, and teachers leaderships are essential for the health of the Body of Christ. Believers are to honor and respect their leaders and to submit to one another and walk in humility.

    We Read in Scripture:

11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:11-16 NLT

17 Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. Hebrews 13:17 NLT

And fourth we have the workplace, the employers and the employees.

Employers are to act with care and in a manner free from bias or favoritism as they oversee their employees keeping their behavior after God Himself, Who is their authority. The employees are responsible to do their jobs as well as they can, doing their work sincerely and devoted as unto the Lord.

    We Read in Scripture:

4 Masters, be just and fair to your slaves. Remember that you also have a Master—in heaven. Colossians 4:1 NLT

22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord. Colossians 3:22 NLT

It is of the utmost importance.

Ok YBIG thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it.

Why do you maintain hard head against the teachings of Jesus - denying the gift of salvation - freely given to those who are worthy .. those who merit just reward. Why oh Why do you deny The Truth - The Way - The Light .. .. the path by which one may be found worthy .. so hard of head .. stiff necked ..:eekeyes:

For in Scripture we read .. by their deeds salvation was found .. :cheerleader::cheerleader:

That's your problem that you don't care, not mine. Maybe if you started to care then things would be honky dory..lol When I make Biblical statements and backed them up with what's written in the Scriptures of the Holy Bible, I do that because I believe in them. Now it's obvious you don't believe in them and so all you got to do is say "Mitt, I'm sorry but I don't believe in what you believe"...do you see how simple it is?

Ok Grasping thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it and hopefully it will simmer you down to stop your immature whining.

Hey Above have you ever considered becoming a writer? Man o man... when you present a post you surely aren't shy in using lots and lots of words now are you? I guess you have so much on your mind...lol You know you should be a writer of sci-fi stories. Who knows if they're any good you could revive that old CBS television series "The Twilight Zone". I found that series to be quite entertaining despite all the ridiculous absurd sci-fi nonsense displayed week after week in those episodes presented.

But enough about talking bout your possible new career and let's get down to my response. I will take segments of your post and respond to them.

Yes that's true that Revelation stirred up some controversy within the Church. Here is something I found on-line. What I'm presenting here is their conclusion, so if you want to read the whole article, click on link below.

Well ok Above thanks for your post, it was a pleasure for me to respond to it. Because I'm near the threshold of the maximum words you can present in a post, I will continue in a new post to respond to other segments of your post. So until then, please standby.
