Your summary says that God tested Abraham so Abraham could see himself. But if he passed the test he already knew himself, so he learned nothing.
And that is what I said in my previous post.

Much of the objectionable text in the bible is in the the Old Testament.

When I point out that slavery and stoning children is bad, I am told that the old testament isn't the part that counts.

If the New Testament trumps what the old testament was saying, why does Jesus say in Matthew 5 verses 17-19:

5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Which looks to me like Jesus is saying the old laws stand till the end of time.

Then again in luke chapter 16, verse 17:
16:17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

So does old testament law apply in todays world, or have we passed the need for such barbaric laws?

Im making a false claim that the church discriminates against women? We have just factually proven beyond any doubt women have no say in the decisions of the Church. Newsflash that is discrimination. No ifs and or buts. It is textbook discrimination.

Also, Im not angry towards men. Im angry towards men that take advantage of lesser willed people to further their own ideology. To tell a woman she has no say or to tell people if they dont live their lives exactly as you say then they will burn in hell for eternity is pretty much disgusting to me.
LOL and of course Jesus picking only men during Jesus time wasnt a problem. That time period was filled with men who viewed women as a step up from a cow but barely. As for Jesus not picking others. I dont know. Its your faith, you tell me why he was a racist and chose only hebrews.
Now you understand I am correct. Lastly, it should not matter what time period Jesus picked men. If he is truly god he should have known back then women are equals. That lesson should not need to be taught from a man to a god. Period. If you say it would be different now, then you have just proven Jesus is not god else he would have known picking only men back then is not correct.

LOL so now you know what my eternal happiness should be? You know what makes me happy more than I do? If there are no trees, no snakes, no bugs, no birds, no nothing other than human souls, that doesnt sound like eternal happiness to me at all. It sounds exactly like hell. I prefer trees, snakes, dogs, lizards, bugs, over spending eternity with souls that believe I need worship something and agree with their ideology or be outcast. My dog required nothing of me other than my friendship. You and people like you however require a long list of things I need to do in order to spend eternity....with you.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it's too bad then you can't spend eternity here on earth with your trees, snakes, bugs, and birds. Life here on earth as we all know is temporary but the eternity is forever.

Nobody is telling you or anyone else for that matter that you must agree with our belief. We are just answering questions pertaining to the Christian religion, if it's not for you fine, you are not going to see me begging you to believe. I am not here trying to make believers out of you atheists.

Lastly, there is no such thing as a long list of things people need to do in order to become Christians and be saved.

    YES.

You have only proven that you are anti-male. Not "we" but you only, Christians have prove beyond reasonable doubt that women's right are protected it is in the Holy Bible "When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son!'. Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother!’" (Jn 19:26-27).
Catholics are being persecuted by atheist for honouring Mary mother of God.

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

We Catholics even have a special prayer for women
    "Hail Mary, full of grace.
    Our Lord is with thee.
    Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
    Jesus.
    Holy Mary, Mother of God,
    pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
    Amen.

And we develop the rosary in respect to women.

This is how much we respect and treat women, unlike you who pretend to speak for their rights but actually you are against men.

Here are your angry words and anti male words, you may think you fool everyone but not me.

Again, answer my question: will you be satisfied if Jesus was a woman? or if the 12 Apostles were women? or if God had created Eve first before Adam? or if Nuns are allowed to vote for the Pope or do you prefer all Catholic should vote for the Pope?

Why in the USA Americans men and women are not allowed to vote directly for the President of the USA???

There is so much evidence against the Biblical flood story and creation account .. It would take someone with the mind of a holocause denier to believe such an irrational story.

The flood supposedly happened around 2000 - 2400 BC wiping out all humanity.

The first problem with this story is that we have found numerous continuous civilizations throughout this period all over the world. Egypt, Sumeria, China, Africa, Europe, South America, India, Australia .. and so on.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All these civilizatons occurred way after the Great Flood. Nobody can give exact dates as to when exactly did the Great Flood happen and when these civilizations came into being.

All we Christians know is that at one time in the history of the earth there were only 8 human beings alive, the rest were punished and killed by the wrath of God because of their sinful, evil wicked corrupted lifestyles in a world gone wrong during the Great Flood that covered the entire earth.

So all humans are descendants from Noah and his family of 8.

How did Noah get collect all the animals (2 polar bear from the arctic, and a 2 Spectacled bears from South America for example)

It would have taken Noah and Sons years get just the 2 polar bear (walking to the Arctic and back) assuming such a thing was even possible, survival of harsh conditions, capturing the bear (its not like they had stun guns) .. and so forth.

Getting animals from places like South America was not even possible. This is rediculously absurd. It would have taken many centuries to collect all the animals required. Who feeds and cares for these animals while Noah and sons are away.

By time they collected about 50 different animals from far away lands .. the previous animals would be dying because of the length of time needed.

Then .. assuming Noah did do this .. How did these animals get back home ? A Kangaroo can not swim back to Australia.

I have only given a very small amount of the hard evidence against the Biblical Creation story .. there is much more, but might as well start with these examples and see what you come up with.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let me try to explain it as thoroughly as I can be so as to bring some kind of acceptable understanding to this true event the Great Flood that was brought on by Almighty God because of a sinful world gone wrong!

First off, Noah didn't get the animals, the animals came to him. It is written in Scripture. "Pairs of every kind of bird, and every kid of animal, and every kind of small animal that scurries along the ground will come to you to be kept alive." Gen 6:20 NLT

The Bible indicates that the "Pre-flood" world was much different than it is today, and likely to have been of uniform temperature everywhere (except for the poles)The drastic and extreme climatic difference we have today did not exist before the flood. In fact they are a result of the flood.

When God created the animals, He gave them the ability to adapt. God foresaw the entrance of sin, a world gone wrong. God created His creatures with an incredible ability to survive in various climates. Some tropical animals can survive in cooler climates. And some animals that now live in Polar Regions can also survive in warmer temperatures.

These diverse ecosystems did not exist prior to the flood. Today kangaroos only live in Australia. But prior to the flood, kangaroos and other animals most likely lived near Noah’s home. Prior to the flood, the earth may have been one large landmass. Australia did not exist in its present location. Our present continents are shaped as a result of re-disposition of flood sediments, and receding flood waters.

After the flood there were land bridges (because of a lower sea level) that connected many of the continents. Years later, the glaciers started to melt and the water level rose. This caused many land bridges to disappear.

The animals that were on these continents would be stuck there. Keep in mind too, that many animals were brought to the United States by explorers. They did not travel there themselves. The same may be true for animals in Australia.

For the animals that did migrate on foot, keep in mind one kangaroo would not have to hop all the way to Australia. A group could travel, dying and reproducing for many years along the way. There was probably a lot of trial and error looking for a climate that suited them, in combination with an ample source of food. It's not as if they had Australia as a goal.

So in summary this explanation is reasonable and plausible that can be readily accepted. We know this world is an ever changing world that goes through cycles. People adapted, animals adapted. People migrated, animals migrated. This event the Great Flood happened several thousands of years ago and so the status quo back then is not the status quo presently on a number of things.

Whats wrong with facing death? Did you ever think the real gift is the gift of the life we are living right now?
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you think or believe the real gift is the gift of the life we are living right now then who gave us this gift?

It can't be a gift if no one gave it to us and since you atheists don't believe in God then there is no such thing coming from your atheist perspective that this is a gift we received.

It is an accident that you have this life, it can never be a gift. You are the accidental by-product of nature, a result of matter plus time plus chance. There is no reason for your existence. All you face is death. So why are you living? You have no purpose, your life is meaningless!

God is against war? He told the Israelites to destroy multiple peoples in Canaan while enslaving their children and raping their wives.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Canaan people were evil people and because of their sins & disobedience our righteous God of the Old Testament allowed the killings (punishments) of the Canaanites and the Amalekites. God had morally sufficient reasons for ordering the destruction of these nations and so you can't call it murder. The Canaanite culture reveals its inherent moral wickedness, they were a brutal, aggressive people who engaged in bestiality, incest, and even child sacrifice. Deviant sexual acts were the norm.

The Canaanites' sin were so repellent that God said, "Because the entire land has become defiled, I am punishing the people who live there.I will cause the land to vomit them out." ---Leviticus 18:25 NLT

The destruction was directed more at the Canaanite religion that at the Canaanite people. The judgment was not ethnically motivated. Besides dealing with national sins, God used the conquest of Canaan to create a religious historical context in which He could eventually introduce the Messiah to the world. This Messiah would bring salvation not only to Israel, but also to Israel's enemies, including Canaan (Psalm 87:4-6; Mark 7:25-30).

It must be noted that God gave the Canaanite people more than sufficient time to repent of their evil ways, over 400 years (Genesis 15:13-16) They were aware of God's power and could have repented but they continued their rebellion against God until the bitter end.

God did command the Israelites to kill non-combatants such as the Canaanite women who did not fight, but this in no way means they were innocent, as their seductive behavior in Numbers 25 indicates (Numbers 25:1-3)

What about the children? This is not an easy question to answer but we must keep several things in mind.

First, no human person (including infants) is truly innocent. The Scripture teaches that we are all born in sin (Psalm 51:5, 58:3) This implies that all people are morally culpable for Adam's sin in some way. Infants are just as condemned from sin as adults are.

Second, God is sovereign over all of life and can take it whenever He sees fit. God, and God alone, can give life and God alone has the right to take it whenever He so chooses.

In fact, He ultimately takes every person's life at death. It is not our life to begin with but God's. While it is wrong for us to take a life, except in instances of capital punishment, war, and self-defense, this does not mean that it is wrong for God to do so.

We recognize this when we accuse some person or authority who takes human life as "playing God." God is under no obligation to extend anyone's life for even another day. How and when we die is completely up to Him.

Third, an argument could be made that it would have been cruel for God to take the lives of all the Canaanites except the infants and children. Without the protection and support of their parents, the infants and small children were likely to face death anyway due to starvation. The chances of survival for an orphan in the ancient Near East were not good.

Finally, and most importantly, God may have provided for the salvation for those infants who would not have otherwise attained salvation if they had lived into adulthood. We must remember that the Canaanites were a barbarous and evil culture. If those infants and children had lived into adulthood, it is very likely they would have turned into something similar to their parents. If all infants and young children who die before an age of moral accountability go straight to heaven (as we believe), then those children are in a far better place than if God had allowed them to live and grow to maturity in a depraved culture.

Surely the issue of God commanding violence in the Old Testament is difficult. However, we must remember that God sees things from an eternal perspective, and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). The Apostle Paul tells us that God is both kind and severe (Romans 11:22). While it is true that God's holy character demands that sin be punished, His grace and mercy remain extended to those who are willing to repent and be saved. The Canaanite destruction provides us with a reminder that while our God is gracious and merciful, He is also a God of holiness and wrath.

God is against human sacrifice... But sacrifices his own son in the most brutal fashion.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You're not understanding this sacrifice and so let me explain.

Knowing man’s incapability to maintain perfection by means of the law that was set up in the old covenant, God’s compassion and great love for mankind allowed for a new covenant. This would be an everlasting covenant to be established through the sending of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus became the true Lamb of God that took away the sins of the world and bring peace and restoration to a broken relationship between God and His people once and for all.

This covenant is from everlasting to everlasting and has eternal significance to the soul of man. Our souls were destined for eternal punishment because of our inability to be righteous and tendency to given in to temptations.

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who you are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty of our sins.

For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.

"For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

Religions hold women down. They can hold no authority. They are subservient to the man.

Who among the caananites did God reveal himself to? Up to the battle of Jericho, the caananites never heard of the tribe of hebrews and only the hebrews knew about their God.

And if something SEEMS in error....you can make up all sorts of "re-interpretations" or "this means this here, but not there" or "There is no proof that ____ DIDN'T happen"...or whatever it takes to make sure that you keep believing the Bible is error-free....

because if there is even ONE error in the Bible....the whole house of cards falls apart.
